There are no confirmed, Switch 2-specific fixes in the available official guidance for performance, graphics, or control problems in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. Start with the game’s current update and its own options, then check Capcom’s current Switch 2 support or patch notes. Treat general console tips—and all PC file-reset instructions—as unverified for Switch 2.
First, confirm which Switch 2 version and advice apply
Capcom announced Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen for Nintendo Switch 2, combining the main game and expansion in one package, with an October 9, 2026 release date. Nintendo UK lists the same edition and date; storefront timing and availability may differ by region. Capcom’s announcement and Nintendo UK’s listing establish the edition, not a troubleshooting procedure.

That distinction matters because steps for a PC or another console can send you looking for settings or files that do not exist on Switch 2. No verified Switch 2 instructions establish a graphics preset, resolution control, frame-rate cap, or repair procedure for stutter, image problems, or crashes.
Performance problems: check updates, but don’t treat a pre-release comment as a benchmark
Check that the installed game is up to date, then review the options actually shown in the Switch 2 version. If an issue began after an update, consult Capcom’s current Switch 2 support information and patch notes for that version before changing other settings. No specific Switch 2 setting or sequence is established here as a fix for frame drops, stutter, slowdowns, or crashes.

In a July 16, 2026 interview report, TechRadar quoted Capcom producer Naoto Oyama saying the team was seeing at least 30 frames per second during development, with higher performance in many scenes. Oyama also said the Switch 2 performance was exceeding expectations. This was a developer’s pre-release statement, not an independent test of the retail build, and it does not guarantee performance in every area or after release. Read the TechRadar report.
The report also discussed a planned August 2026 Performance Mode update for console intended to allow 60FPS, but did not establish that this mode applies to Switch 2. Do not assume a console performance mode or a 60FPS option is present in the Switch 2 edition.

Graphics problems: use only options present in the Switch 2 game
For a blurry or unstable image, visual artifacts, or a display problem, look through the Switch 2 version’s own options and compare the image in handheld and TV use if both are relevant to your setup. Nintendo lists handheld, tabletop, and TV play modes, but that listing does not show that one mode causes or cures a graphics problem. It also does not establish Switch 2 graphics settings. Avoid changing resolution or performance options based on instructions for another platform.

Control problems: verify the in-game assignments before changing accessories
If an input is unresponsive or a button does something unexpected, inspect the Controls or Options menu in the Switch 2 build and confirm its current button assignments. The exact menu labels and available remapping options have not been confirmed for Switch 2.
Capcom’s manual page describing button remapping is labeled for PS5, so it is not proof that the Switch 2 menu is identical. Likewise, Capcom’s Steam FAQ lists supported controls for Steam—including several console controllers and mouse and keyboard—but does not establish Switch 2 controller compatibility or accessory support. Do not buy a controller based on that PC FAQ. Capcom’s manual and Capcom’s support information should be checked for platform-specific guidance.

Why the PC config-file fix does not apply
Capcom’s Steam FAQ describes resetting graphics configuration by renaming config.ini and copying config_default.ini into place. Those are Steam-installed PC files; the instructions are not a Switch 2 repair method. Do not try to access or replace them on the console. The FAQ’s performance advice and controller list are also scoped to Steam, not Switch 2. See Capcom’s support page.
