First identify the thermostat model, then determine whether it is missing from Apple Home, already listed but showing “No Response,” or failing alongside other smart-home devices. Those cases call for different checks. This guide focuses on the Aqara Thermostat Hub W200; do not apply its setup or reset steps to an Aqara W600, W500, E1, or another model.
Before troubleshooting, confirm which Aqara thermostat you have
Check the product label or its entry in Aqara Home. Aqara sells multiple thermostat products, and their setup and reset procedures are not interchangeable. The W200 is the model addressed here; if yours is another model, use that model’s own instructions instead of following W200-specific Matter steps. Aqara’s W200 product page and support resources provide model-specific information.

Start by checking whether Aqara Home can control it
Open Aqara Home and see whether the thermostat appears and responds to a control. Aqara Home can provide firmware updates and advanced configuration options that may not be available in Apple Home. If the thermostat also fails in Aqara Home, investigate its power, network or Matter status, and firmware before treating Apple Home as the only problem. Apple’s guidance is to check whether accessories respond after each step. Try the following in order, and check the thermostat in Home after each action rather than moving directly to a reset.

- Turn on Bluetooth on the iPhone, iPad, or Mac you use with Home.
- Restart the thermostat using its model-specific instructions.
- Check Aqara Home for a thermostat firmware update. If the thermostat also does not respond in Aqara Home, follow Aqara’s instructions for the model before resetting it.
- Restart any third-party bridges and Apple home hubs associated with your home.
- If the thermostat is operating as a Thread accessory, disconnect it from power for five minutes, reconnect it, and allow ten minutes for Thread to stabilize before checking again.
- If it remains unresponsive, remove it from Apple Home. If removal is unavailable there, try removing it from the manufacturer’s app. Then use the W200’s official instructions to reset and add it again.
Apple’s full sequence is on its “If your HomeKit or Matter accessory isn’t responding in the Home app” page, published March 9, 2026. Do not guess at button presses or reset timing: use the guide for your confirmed model.
If the thermostat will not add to Apple Home
For first-time W200 setup, use Aqara’s current W200 support instructions, including “How to Connect W200 to Matter Ecosystem.” Aqara’s Apple Home overview gives the general method: open the Home app, tap +, and scan the product’s unique HomeKit code. Follow the detailed W200 guide for the actual Matter workflow, code location, and required setup state; those details should not be assumed from another Aqara thermostat’s manual.

If you have already tried setup, avoid repeated undocumented resets. A reset can remove existing configuration. Confirm the thermostat is in the setup state specified by Aqara, then retry the documented process.

If devices from several manufacturers are affected
When multiple brands fail at once, look for a shared Apple Home or network issue rather than focusing only on the Aqara thermostat. Apple recommends checking the following:

- Update the Apple device you use to manage the home, then close and reopen the Home app.
- Connect the iPhone, iPad, or Mac to the same Wi-Fi network as the accessories.
- Confirm a home hub is set up if you need remote control.
- Restart the affected accessories, router and modem, bridges, home hubs, and the Apple device.
- Check whether a VPN or third-party security software is interfering with local connections.
Use Apple’s accessory troubleshooting steps and check Home after each change.
Understand when an Apple home hub is needed
Aqara says compatible products connect to Apple Home over Wi-Fi or Thread. It identifies a HomePod, HomePod mini, or Apple TV as a home hub for control when you are away from home. That remote-access requirement is not the same as a requirement to buy a hub just to attempt local pairing.

The W200 also has a separate requirement for its Adaptive Temperature feature: Aqara specifies iPhone or Apple Watch and Apple home hub software version 26 or later. Check Aqara’s W200 product information for current feature requirements.
Do not mistake an HVAC wiring issue for a Home connection fix
Aqara describes the W200 as compatible with the majority of HVAC systems and provides a compatibility checker. For an installation without a C-wire, Aqara says its separately sold C-Wire Adapter can provide power. That adapter addresses an installation and power need; it is not a remedy for failed Matter pairing or an Apple Home “No Response” state. Check system compatibility and wiring before buying an adapter or arranging installation.

What to record before contacting support
If the documented checks do not resolve the issue, collect details that help distinguish a thermostat problem from a Home network problem:
- The exact thermostat model.
- The precise Apple Home error or status message.
- Whether Aqara Home can see and control the thermostat.
- Thermostat firmware and relevant Apple device or home hub software versions.
- Whether accessories from other manufacturers are affected.
- Which steps you tried and whether anything changed.
