The easiest way to transfer Pocket 3 videos to a phone is with the DJI Mimo app: connect the camera, open its album or playback view, select clips, and download them. For a cable-based transfer, use OTG with a compatible phone; for a batch of files, remove the microSD card and use a phone-compatible reader.
Transfer videos with DJI Mimo
DJI Mimo is the standard app workflow for browsing and downloading Pocket 3 footage. DJI supports both wireless and wired Mimo connections; the steps below describe the usual wireless connection.

- Turn on the Pocket 3 and enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your phone.
- Open DJI Mimo and connect to the camera. If the app asks you to join the camera’s Wi-Fi network, follow its prompt.
- In Mimo, open Album, or tap the camera icon and choose Playback.
- To download one clip, open it and tap the Download icon. To download several, tap Select, choose the clips, and tap Download.

Use a wired OTG connection
The Pocket 3 supports transferring files to a compatible mobile device through OTG. In the camera’s system settings, enable OTG Connection, then connect an OTG-supported phone with a USB-C to USB-C cable. If the phone displays a USB mode or file-access prompt, follow the phone’s instructions. The exact behavior depends on the phone and operating system; consult DJI’s FAQ and OTG guide.

For an iPhone with a Lightning port
DJI’s documented OTG setup for a Lightning iPhone uses a Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter powered by an external USB power adapter. DJI’s instructions describe two supported connection sequences; follow the sequence in the current DJI guide rather than improvising the order.
Transfer files with a microSD card reader
Pocket 3 footage is stored on a microSD card, not in built-in camera storage. DJI states: “Osmo Pocket 3 does not have built-in storage and requires a microSD card for storing captured footage.” DJI’s beginner’s guide also recommends a card with at least a UHS-I Speed Grade 3 rating for optimal transfer speed.

To copy footage this way, remove the card, insert it into a reader that works with your phone, and use the phone’s file manager to copy the clips. Check the phone’s port and file-access support before choosing a reader. A reader is optional; use Mimo if it meets your needs.

Fix common connection and export problems
- Mimo will not connect: Check that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on the phone. DJI also recommends restarting the camera and app, then trying again. DJI FAQ.
- The camera’s Wi-Fi password changed: Turn the phone’s Wi-Fi off and back on, then retry the connection in Mimo. DJI FAQ.
- The wireless connection is unreliable or unavailable: If the phone does not support 5.8 GHz Wi-Fi, or that band is unavailable where you are, DJI says to change the Pocket 3 Wi-Fi frequency to 2.4 GHz in the camera’s Wireless Connection settings. DJI FAQ.
- OTG does not work: Confirm OTG is enabled in the camera and that the phone supports OTG. Respond to any USB file-access prompt on the phone. DJI FAQ; DJI OTG instructions.
- A long recording appears as multiple clips: DJI says the Pocket 3 automatically splits a recording as it approaches 16 GB; this does not damage quality. DJI FAQ.
Which method should you use?
- Use Mimo for the ordinary app-based workflow and a small number of clips.
- Use OTG if you prefer a cable and your phone supports the required connection.
- Use a microSD card reader when moving multiple files is more convenient; check phone compatibility first.
DJI recommends a reader for quickly exporting multiple files, but does not quantify transfer times or establish that one method is always fastest. Compatibility and actual results depend on the phone, connection, and accessories.
