To move photos from a Canon EOS Rebel T3i to a computer, connect the camera with a USB Mini-B data cable and follow Canon’s model-specific setup, or remove the memory card and use a compatible card slot or reader. To move photos to a phone, use a card reader that matches the camera card and your phone’s port and import workflow. Canon’s general Camera Connect information does not confirm that the T3i is supported, so do not count on direct app transfer without checking the current compatibility list.

Transfer photos to a computer with USB
The EOS Rebel T3i has a Hi-Speed USB-standard Mini-B communications terminal. Canon recommends using the supplied USB cable. If you need a replacement, look for a data cable with a Mini-B plug at the camera end and a computer-side connector that fits your machine; a cable that only charges devices may not transfer files. - Start the computer before connecting the camera.
- Make sure the camera is not connected, turn it on, and adjust Auto power off as directed in Canon’s model-specific procedure.
- Connect the camera using the supplied USB cable, then follow the full Canon instructions for your camera and computer setup.
- Use the import or file-copy workflow available on your computer to save the photos.
Canon Australia’s T3i/600D support article says, “Use the supplied USB cable to connect the camera to the computer.” The detailed steps can vary with the computer’s operating system and installed software, so use Canon’s complete model-specific procedure rather than assuming every computer presents the same import screen.
Transfer photos with a card reader
A card reader copies photos from the memory card without connecting the camera by USB. Canon says a commercially available reader can be used when EOS Utility’s system requirements are not met, and that a reader can save card images without Canon software or the camera’s USB cable. Check Canon’s T3i support page for camera-specific help.

- Turn the camera off before removing the memory card.
- Insert the card into a built-in computer slot or a reader compatible with the card.
- Connect the reader to the computer and use the computer’s photo-import or file-copy workflow to save the images.
Transfer photos from the T3i to a phone
The straightforward phone route is to remove the camera’s memory card and connect it through a compatible card reader. Match the reader to the card and to the phone’s connector; if an adapter is needed, verify that the phone supports importing photos through that setup. Canon’s card-reader guidance explains the memory-card transfer method, but it does not specify a particular iPhone or Android import procedure. See Canon’s card-reader guidance.
Canon describes Camera Connect as an app for transferring images from compatible cameras, but the general app listing does not establish T3i compatibility. Check the app’s current supported-camera information before relying on it for this model: Canon Camera Connect.

If the computer does not recognize the camera
Canon publishes model-specific troubleshooting for a T3i/600D that a computer does not recognize. Follow Canon Singapore’s recognition troubleshooting instead of assuming the cable, computer, or camera is faulty. If EOS Utility requirements are not met, Canon identifies a card slot or commercially available card reader as an alternative way to transfer the images.

Canon’s T3i/600D manual listing was last updated on 2 April 2012. It is useful for the camera’s identity and legacy connection instructions, but it does not establish current support for transferring photos directly to a phone app. Canon’s official material cited here also gives no T3i-specific transfer speeds, success rates, or time estimates, so none should be assumed.
