The simplest route is Huawei’s Phone Clone: start on the Huawei phone, identify it as the new device, choose iPhone/iPad as the old device, connect the phones, select the available categories, and let the transfer finish. It does not move everything. On Huawei’s legacy iPhone workflow, the documented categories are contacts, calendar events, camera photos and camera videos. Huawei phones running HarmonyOS 5.x or later may also offer the wired or iCloud-based “换机无忧” migration methods, with different supported data and requirements.
Choose the right transfer method first
Your Huawei model, operating system and the location of your iPhone data determine which method is practical. Phone Clone is the general wireless option. HarmonyOS 5.x and later devices may provide two additional “换机无忧” paths: a wired migration and an iCloud migration. Huawei documents these newer paths separately, so a feature shown on one HarmonyOS build, device or market may not appear on another.

If you only need the basic personal data listed for Phone Clone, use the wireless method. If your Huawei phone explicitly offers “换机无忧” and you need messages, notes, documents or voice memos, compare the wired and iCloud rows before starting. Do not treat the HarmonyOS 5.x-and-later lists as universal instructions for every Huawei phone.
Prepare both phones before moving anything
Check the Huawei software and available storage
- On the Huawei phone, look for Phone Clone in the app list. On some software versions it is under Settings > System & updates > Phone Clone.
- If the phone runs HarmonyOS 5.x or later, look for the separate “换机无忧” migration option as well. The labels and availability can vary by build and market.
- Make sure the Huawei phone has enough free storage for the categories you select. A transfer can stop if the receiver fills up partway through.
- Keep both phones charged or connected to power. Do not restart either phone, switch to another intensive task or deliberately separate them while a transfer is running.
Prepare the iPhone
- Unlock the iPhone and keep it awake during setup. Huawei’s global instructions direct users to the App Store listing to check which iOS versions the current Phone Clone app supports.
- Install Phone Clone only when the Huawei setup asks for it if you are using the wireless route. The iPhone is the old device; the Huawei phone is the new device.
- For the iCloud route, confirm that the information you need is actually available in the iCloud account. Huawei’s documented iCloud list covers contacts, photos, videos, calendar events, documents, notes and reminders, not every item on the iPhone.
- For a wired transfer, inspect the ports on both phones before buying or selecting a cable. A connector must support data, not merely charging.
Protect irreplaceable information
A migration is not a substitute for a backup. Keep the iPhone intact until you have checked the Huawei copy. If a category is important and the migration tool does not list it, use that service’s own export or migration feature rather than deleting the original.

Transfer with Phone Clone over a wireless connection
This is Huawei’s basic iPhone-to-Huawei workflow. The Huawei phone creates the connection; the iPhone joins it after installing Phone Clone.
- Open the tool on the Huawei phone. Launch Phone Clone, or open Settings > System & updates > Phone Clone when that is where your software places it.
- Set the Huawei phone as the receiver. Choose the option stating that this is the new device, then select iPhone/iPad as the old-device type.
- Read the connection instructions. Huawei displays a code or manual connection details. Its global product guidance describes a wireless hotspot-based connection for iPhone.
- Install and open Phone Clone on the iPhone. Follow the Huawei phone’s prompt to obtain the iPhone app from the App Store. Open it and designate the iPhone as the old device.
- Pair the phones. Scan the code shown on the Huawei phone when prompted, or follow the manual connection instructions. Approve the connection requests that appear on either phone.
- Select categories. The iPhone screen shows the data categories available to this software version. Select only what you want to copy; the exact list can depend on the Huawei phone’s EMUI or HarmonyOS version.
- Start the transfer. Tap the start or transfer control and leave both phones undisturbed. Keep the displays available, avoid switching networks manually and do not close Phone Clone.
- Wait for completion. Use the completion message in Phone Clone as the handoff point. Then open representative contacts, calendar entries, photos and videos on the Huawei phone before changing or erasing the iPhone.
On Huawei’s legacy iPhone guidance, selected categories are merged with matching information already on the receiving phone rather than replacing it. If the Huawei phone already has a contact or calendar entry, check for duplicates after the merge.
What Phone Clone can and cannot transfer

Huawei’s support guidance for this route says other data and applications are unsupported. The category names are narrower than “all phone data”: for example, the documented wording refers to camera photos and camera videos, not an unrestricted copy of every file stored by every application.

For HarmonyOS 5.x and later, Huawei lists contacts, photos, videos and calendar events for Phone Clone. It separately states that Phone Clone does not transfer iCloud data. If the information exists only in iCloud rather than locally on the iPhone, use the documented iCloud migration option when your device provides it, or use the relevant service’s own export process.

Why apps appear to be missing
Phone Clone does not move iPhone applications or their internal data to Android-based Huawei software. An iPhone app may have no Huawei-compatible version, may require a fresh sign-in or may store its records in a service account. Treat a copied app list, where one is offered by “换机无忧,” as a list of names only, not as a restoration of accounts, downloads, settings or chats.
Use the wired “换机无忧” method on HarmonyOS 5.x or later
This method is documented specifically for Huawei phones running HarmonyOS 5.x and later. It can expose more categories than Phone Clone, including messages, notes and voice memos, but it requires a port-compatible data connection.
Choose the correct physical connection

Run the wired migration
- Open the “换机无忧” migration tool on the Huawei phone and choose the option for receiving data from an iPhone.
- Connect the phones with the appropriate adapter or cable. Keep the plugs seated; a loose connection can interrupt the copy.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to authorize the connection on the iPhone and identify the Huawei phone as the new device.
- Review the available categories. Huawei’s documented wired list includes contacts, photos, videos, calendar events, documents, notes, reminders, messages, alarms, voice memos, music, ringtones, browser bookmarks, contact blocklists and an app list.
- Read the selection screen carefully and begin the transfer. Do not disconnect the cable or use either phone for unrelated work.
- When the tool reports completion, inspect high-value categories such as messages, notes, documents and voice memos. Keep the iPhone until those checks are complete.
The wired list is not a promise that every file on every iPhone will be readable on Huawei. It is Huawei’s stated category list for this HarmonyOS 5.x-and-later method, and availability can still depend on the device, build and market.
Use the iCloud “换机无忧” method when the data is in iCloud
Huawei’s HarmonyOS 5.x-and-later documentation lists an iCloud migration path for contacts, photos, videos, calendar events, documents, notes and reminders. This is useful when the information you need is maintained in iCloud rather than solely on the iPhone’s local storage.

- Open “换机无忧” on the Huawei phone and select the iCloud-based migration option if it is displayed.
- Follow the authentication and account prompts presented by the Huawei software. Use the iCloud account that contains the information you intend to move.
- Review the categories offered before starting. The documented list is contacts, photos, videos, calendar events, documents, notes and reminders.
- Start the migration and leave the Huawei phone connected to a reliable internet connection until the tool reports completion.
- Open sample items in each selected category. Keep the iPhone and its iCloud account unchanged until you have confirmed that the Huawei copies are usable.
This method does not expand into a general iPhone backup restore. Huawei’s documented list does not include third-party app data, and the availability of the option itself is limited to supported HarmonyOS 5.x-and-later devices and markets.
Move messages, chats and app information separately
Third-party apps
Huawei states that third-party app data are not supported by the newer “换机无忧” migration method. Use the individual app’s current transfer, export or account-recovery feature where one exists. The older Phone Clone guidance likewise excludes other iPhone app data. An app’s presence in an app list does not mean its offline files, preferences or login session were copied.
Chat history
Chat history is a common failure point because it is controlled by the chat service, not by the phone’s contact or photo database. Huawei gives WeChat chat-history migration as an example of data outside the older Phone Clone route. Check the chat app’s own current iPhone-to-Huawei instructions before signing out, deleting the old app or resetting the iPhone. Do not assume that a successful Phone Clone transfer includes chats.

Messages and other categories
Messages, alarms, voice memos, music, ringtones, bookmarks and contact blocklists appear in Huawei’s wired “换机无忧” list for HarmonyOS 5.x and later, not in the legacy Phone Clone list. If your Huawei phone does not show the wired method or those categories, treat them as unsupported by the route available on that device and preserve the iPhone until you have another export plan.

Verify the result before retiring the iPhone
Verification catches partial transfers that a completion banner cannot reveal. Work through this checklist:
- Open Contacts and search for several names, including one with a photo, a recently added entry and a contact with multiple numbers.
- Open Calendar and inspect events in the past, present and future. Check recurring events and the correct time zone.
- Browse photos and videos from different dates, not only the newest items. Play several videos with sound.
- For a wired migration, open sample documents, notes, reminders, messages, alarms and voice memos.
- Compare the number of important records with the iPhone. A count mismatch is a reason to investigate, not to erase the source.
- Sign in to essential services on the Huawei phone using their own recovery or migration process. Reinstalling an app does not restore its private data automatically.
- Check for duplicates because legacy Phone Clone merges selected categories with existing Huawei data.
Troubleshoot common failures
The Huawei phone cannot find Phone Clone
Search the app list and then check Settings > System & updates > Phone Clone. If neither location exists, the phone may use a different software label or may not include the feature. Look for “换机无忧” on HarmonyOS 5.x-and-later devices instead of assuming the app was deleted.
The iPhone cannot install or open the app
Use the App Store listing to check the compatible iOS versions, as Huawei’s global instructions recommend. Update the iPhone within its supported range, free sufficient storage and retry. If the listing is unavailable in your App Store region, use a migration option that the Huawei phone actually offers rather than downloading an unofficial package.

Return to the Huawei phone’s pairing screen, make sure the Huawei device is set as new and the iPhone as old, then repeat the displayed code or manual connection steps. Keep both devices close, leave Phone Clone in the foreground and avoid manually changing the connection while pairing.
The wired transfer stops
Disconnect only after the tool has stopped, then inspect the connector and cable. Confirm that the adapter supports data, the plugs fit the ports and the Huawei phone supports the required OTG arrangement. Reconnect with both phones unlocked and restart the migration. A charge-only cable cannot carry the transfer.

A category is not offered
The selection screen reflects the phone’s software and the chosen method. Do not infer that an unlisted category will be copied silently. Compare the category with Huawei’s documented list for your method, then use the app or service’s own export process if it is outside that list.
There are duplicates after transfer
Legacy Phone Clone merges selected data with matching records on the Huawei phone. Review the Contacts and Calendar apps, identify which copy is authoritative and remove duplicates only after checking that attachments, phone numbers and recurrence details are intact.
Important limits on versions and regions
Huawei’s global guidance provides the practical Phone Clone entry point but does not publish a complete compatibility matrix or an update date on the instructions described here. The detailed category lists for legacy migration and HarmonyOS 5.x-and-later methods come from Huawei support pages intended for particular software generations. Feature names, supported categories, App Store availability and migration choices can differ by country, device model, EMUI or HarmonyOS build. Check the screens on your own Huawei phone and the current App Store listing before committing to a method.
If your device offers only Phone Clone, plan around its narrower list: contacts, calendar events, photos and videos. If it offers “换机无忧,” choose wired or iCloud based on where your data resides and whether the categories you need are shown. In every case, keep the iPhone available until your own verification is complete.
