- Insert or otherwise make available the SIM card that contains the contacts.
- Open Contacts, then tap More options > Manage contacts > Move contacts.
- Choose SIM 1 (or the SIM containing the contacts if your screen shows a different source).
- Select the contacts to transfer and tap Done.
- Choose Phone as the destination, then tap Move.
Open the Contacts list afterward to check that the transferred entries appear.
If the A51 menus look different
Samsung’s instructions for older software use an import route instead. In Contacts, look for Import/Export, Import or export contacts, or Import contacts. Choose Import from SIM card if offered, select the SIM as the source and Phone as the destination, then follow the on-screen prompts. The labels and available choices vary by software version. Samsung’s A51 support instructions list alternatives for Android Pie or lower.

If you cannot find Import or Export
Check whether Easy mode is enabled. Samsung says the import/export feature may not appear in Easy mode; its A51 support page provides version-dependent Settings routes for turning Easy mode off. Menu names may differ on your phone, so use the route shown for your software version in Samsung’s instructions.

Samsung calls the A51 Android 10 operation Move contacts and ends it with Move. Other Samsung instructions describe related SIM-to-phone flows as importing or copying contacts. Because the wording and behavior vary by software, do not assume the operation leaves a duplicate on the SIM. SIM cards also have limited contact capacity, but Samsung does not give a universal number.
