Check the exact model’s manual first: contacts may move by account import, Bluetooth, SIM, or memory card, while photos may need to be copied through a computer. Verify both on the flip phone before deleting or trading in the smartphone.
Start with the flip phone’s exact model
Write down the model and carrier variant, then consult its manual or manufacturer support page. Look for instructions labeled “import contacts,” “Bluetooth,” “USB storage,” “memory card,” or “copy content.” Support varies by model, and a smartphone’s setup-transfer feature should not be assumed to work with a basic flip phone.

For example, the Nokia 2780 Flip guide lists Gmail, Outlook, a memory card, and Bluetooth as contact-import options. Import from an account
If your contacts are synced to a service that the flip phone can access, use the phone’s own account-import menu. The Nokia 2780 Flip guide, for instance, lists Gmail and Outlook as import choices. Check that the contacts you need are present in that account before starting.

Send contacts over Bluetooth
Use Bluetooth only when the smartphone can share contacts and the flip phone can receive and import them. Pair the phones, then follow the prompts on both screens. A phone’s ability to transfer contacts over Bluetooth does not mean it can transfer photos the same way.
Copy contacts from a SIM
This method applies only if the contacts are actually stored on a compatible SIM and the flip phone offers SIM-to-phone copying. TCL’s instructions describe copying or moving SIM-memory contacts into phone memory: open Menu > Contacts > Options > Copy contacts or Move contacts, choose SIM memory > Phone memory, select contacts, then choose Copy or Move. Labels may differ by model. TCL SIM contact-copy instructions.

An iPhone does not store contacts on its SIM. Apple documents importing contacts from a SIM into an iPhone, not exporting iPhone contacts to a SIM, so SIM copying is not a normal iPhone-to-flip-phone export route. Imported details also depend on how the previous phone stored them. Apple: Import contacts from a SIM card.
Import from a memory card
Use a card only if the source workflow and the flip phone both support it. Check the phone’s manual for supported card use and contact-import steps before moving files or buying storage.

Open Contacts on the flip phone and check names and numbers, especially entries with long names or multiple numbers. Do not assume every contact field has transferred; what survives can depend on the source format and the destination phone’s import support.
