For an Android-to-Infinix move, use the new phone’s copy-data option during its initial setup. Choose a cable or wireless transfer, then sign in to the Google Account used on your old phone to sync backed-up contacts and access photos stored in Google Photos. If setup is over or the old phone is unavailable, restore from a Google backup. Some Infinix models also offer Phone Cloner, but availability varies. Keep the old phone until you have checked the important files and accounts on the new one.
Choose the transfer method that fits your situation
| Method | Best when | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Android setup copy | You have the old Android phone and are setting up the new Infinix. | Google supports cable and wireless transfer during setup. Content that may copy includes apps and certain app data, photos, videos, music, contacts, text messages, and some settings. See Google’s Android transfer instructions. |
| Infinix Phone Cloner | Your Infinix includes the feature and you want to follow its on-device transfer prompts. | Infinix documents Phone Cloner for the ZERO X Pro with XOS 7.6, describing transfer of photos, files, and contacts without cellular data expense. That does not establish availability on every Infinix model. See Infinix ZERO X Pro. |
| Google Account backup and restore | You need to restore backed-up data, including when the old phone is unavailable. | Available content depends on what was backed up and which apps support backup. Photos and videos are included when backed up through Google Photos. See Google’s backup and restore guide. |
Before you start the transfer
- Charge both phones and keep them nearby. Unlock the old phone when prompted.
- Connect to Wi-Fi if possible, especially if you plan to restore from a Google Account.
- Check that the new phone has enough available storage for the data you want to move.
- If you plan to use a cable, check that it fits both phones and supports data transfer. An adapter may be needed when the connectors do not match; Google also offers wireless transfer as an option.
- Keep access to important accounts and any app-specific transfer instructions, especially for messaging, authenticator, and banking apps.
Google says its Android setup transfer can take from a few minutes to over an hour, depending on the amount of data. This is general guidance, not a time estimate for a specific Infinix model.

Copy apps and data during Infinix setup
- Turn on the new Infinix and follow the on-screen setup steps until you reach the option to copy apps and data. Exact wording and prompts can vary by model and software version.
- Choose a cable or wireless connection when prompted. For a cable transfer, connect the phones as directed; use an adapter if needed.
- Follow the instructions shown on both phones. Unlock the old phone and approve any connection or transfer prompts.
- Select the content you want to copy, then leave the phones connected and follow the remaining setup steps.
- After setup, sign in to the Google Account used on the old phone if you have not already done so. This allows backed-up Google contacts to sync and gives you access to photos backed up in Google Photos.
Google’s setup flow supports the same listed data categories for cable and wireless transfer. Neither method guarantees that every app’s private data or every locally stored file will move. Google lists downloads such as PDFs, media in hidden folders, apps outside Google Play, and data from apps that do not use Android backup among items that may not copy. See Google’s transfer exclusions and instructions.
Look for Phone Cloner if your Infinix offers it
Some Infinix phones may include Phone Cloner. Infinix’s ZERO X Pro page documents the feature under XOS 7.6 and says it transfers photos, files, and contacts without cellular data expense. That page is model- and software-specific, so check your phone’s available apps or setup prompts rather than assuming the feature is present. If you find it, follow the on-screen instructions and confirm what it offers to transfer.

Restore from a Google Account backup
If you need to restore backed-up data, use the restore option during setup and choose the Google Account and backup associated with the old phone. Google says Android backups can include apps and app data, call history, contacts, device settings, and SMS/MMS. Photos and videos are backed up through Google Photos when that service is being used. Not all apps can back up or restore all settings and data; check the backup details on the old device when available. Google’s guide says a restore can take up to 24 hours, and a backup from a higher Android version cannot be restored to a phone running a lower Android version. See Google’s backup and restore guide.

Contacts
Contacts may be saved to a Google Account, stored on the phone, or held on a SIM card. Google Account contacts sync after you sign in to that account. If contacts are on a SIM or stored locally, check the old phone’s Contacts app for its export or copy options and import them on the Infinix. Infinix’s Argentina FAQ describes copying contacts to a SIM and importing them on another phone, as well as syncing contacts through an account such as Google; menu labels can vary. See Infinix Argentina’s FAQ.

Photos and videos
Photos and videos may copy during Android setup, or remain available through Google Photos if they were backed up there. Check the old phone’s photo apps and folders for anything important that is not in Google Photos, including hidden folders. Move those files separately if they are missing on the new phone.
