To move Apple Cash out of Wallet, open the Apple Cash card and choose Transfer to Bank. Select 1–3 Business Days to send it to a U.S. bank account with no Apple transfer fee, or choose Instant Transfer to send it to an eligible U.S.-issued debit card for a fee of 1.7% (at least $0.25 and no more than $25). Apple shows the instant-transfer fee before you confirm.

These timing and fee details are Apple-published figures. If speed matters, Instant Transfer is the faster option, but the fee comes out of the amount transferred. The bank option avoids that fee but is not immediate.

Transfer Apple Cash from an iPhone
- Open Wallet and tap your Apple Cash card.
- Tap More, then Transfer to Bank.
- Enter the amount and tap Continue.
- Choose 1–3 Business Days for a bank account or Instant Transfer for an eligible debit card. Follow the prompts to add a destination if needed.
- Confirm with the side button, then authenticate using Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
Transfer Apple Cash from an iPad
- Open Settings.
- Tap Wallet & Apple Pay, then tap the Apple Cash card.
- Follow the transfer prompts to choose the amount and destination method, add account or card details if needed, and confirm.
Apple advises using the latest iOS or iPadOS. The available options may depend on your device, software, account, and destination eligibility.

For a bank transfer
Choose 1–3 Business Days. If no bank account is listed, tap Add a Bank Account and enter the bank routing number and account number. You must enter both again to confirm them. The destination must be a U.S. bank account. Check the numbers carefully: Apple warns that incorrect details may send money to the wrong account and recovery may be impossible.

For Instant Transfer
Choose Instant Transfer. If no eligible debit card appears, tap Add Card and follow the Wallet prompts. The card must be an eligible debit card issued in the United States. Apple displays the fee before you complete the transfer.
Fees, limits, and eligibility
Apple’s published standard limits are a minimum of $1 per bank transfer—or your full balance if it is below $1—and a maximum of $10,000 per transfer and $20,000 in a seven-day period. For Apple Cash Family, the maximum is $2,000 per transfer and $4,000 over seven days. Apple may lower limits or apply additional restrictions for security or other reasons, so a transfer within the published amounts is not guaranteed to be approved.

Apple Cash is available in the 50 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. Standard users must be at least 18 and U.S. residents. A family organizer can set up Apple Cash Family for someone under 18. Apple says users must be at least 13 to transfer to or from an eligible debit card and use Instant Transfer. Family members under 13 can transfer to a bank account; teens 13 and older can use a bank account or eligible debit card.

If a transfer option is missing or a transfer is delayed
- Install the latest iOS or iPadOS and check that your device is eligible.
- For Instant Transfer, confirm the debit card is eligible and issued in the United States. For a bank transfer, recheck the routing and account numbers.
- Check whether the amount exceeds a transfer limit or another restriction applies.
- Complete identity verification if Apple requests it, and check whether your Apple Cash account is restricted or locked.
- Check Apple System Status and your network connection. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account for iCloud and iMessage.
If an Instant Transfer has not arrived after two hours, contact an Apple Cash Specialist at Green Dot Bank. If a bank transfer has not arrived after three business days, contact support.
