For longer-term trends, use Analytics → Audience → Total Member and compare members gained, canceled and lost. These are different measures: a canceled member may keep access to perks until their current billing period ends.
Where to see YouTube membership cancellations
- Open YouTube Studio. Sign in to the channel and select Earn, then Memberships.
- Review the Memberships cards. Check Total members, Active members, Revenue, Members by level, Sign-ups and cancellations, and Cancellation Feedback. The sign-ups and cancellations card covers the past billing period and can be compared with the previous period.
- For a longer or custom trend, open Analytics. Select Analytics → Audience → Total Member → See More. Review the time series for Total and Active members, Members Gained, Members Canceled and Members Lost. The Key Metrics card charts gained or lost members over time.
YouTube’s official guide, Analyze and manage your YouTube channel memberships program, describes these reports and metrics. You can set a custom time period in Analytics; the Memberships card uses the past billing period and offers a comparison with the previous one.
What canceled, lost, active and total members mean

YouTube Help defines Members Lost as “canceled members who lost access to perks as a result of the end of their billing period.” The billing period can be 28, 30 or 31 days, depending on the calendar month.
How to compare cancellation trends fairly
- Compare the same metric across the same time window. For example, compare Members Canceled for matching periods rather than comparing a billing-period card with a differently sized custom date range.
- Look at Members Gained, Members Canceled and Members Lost together. Cancellations and lost access occur at different points in the billing cycle.
- Compare active and total members, and consider revenue and membership levels where relevant. Current perk access alone does not prove that a subscription remains active.
- Use the Memberships card’s previous-period comparison for a quick check; use Analytics when you need to choose a custom period.
Can I export a historical list of cancellations?
The Memberships tab offers a CSV snapshot of current member information, and YouTube says the export may take a few minutes. The cited guidance describes this as a snapshot, not a historical cancellation log or member-by-member cancellation export. Do not treat it as a record of every past cancellation.

What Indian channel owners should know about billing
YouTube’s billing guidance notes that, due to Reserve Bank of India eMandate requirements, members may need to verify or re-enter payment details to maintain access to recurring memberships. This is a member-side payment requirement, not proof that a particular cancellation was caused by eMandate verification; YouTube does not provide an India-specific cancellation rate or reporting delay in the cited guidance. When a member cancels, YouTube says they are not charged again unless they reactivate, and they keep access to perks until the current billing period ends. YouTube says there is no refund for the unused portion of that period. See how members can cancel a channel membership.
