To track a price and get an alert, first identify the exact product listing and the store where you plan to buy it. Then choose a tracker that supports that retailer and your country, set a target price or price-drop alert, and use the price history to judge whether the current offer is unusually low. Before buying, confirm the live price, seller, product variant, shipping and any coupon terms on the retailer’s page.
Choose a tracker that covers the item and retailer
A tracker can monitor only listings it can identify. Start with the retailer’s product page and confirm the model, size, color, storage capacity or other variant you actually want. Then check whether a tracking option is available for that listing in your country.

Amazon price history and Alexa for Shopping
Amazon says customers can view 30-, 90- and 365-day price history on product detail pages. Its May 2026 article, updated June 24, says the feature was available in the U.S., UK, Canada and India. At that time, 365-day insights were rolling out in the U.S., UK and India, with full availability expected in the coming weeks; availability can change, so check your product page and app. Amazon’s price-history guide also reports that more than 50 million customers had used the feature and that customers checked it an average of three times per month. Those are figures reported by Amazon, not independent measurements.

In a separate 2026 article, Amazon describes Alexa for Shopping deal alerts and alerts for when an item reaches a target price. It also describes an optional auto-buy feature. Keepa for Amazon price charts and drop alerts
Keepa offers Amazon price-history charts and price-drop alerts. Keepa says it tracks more than 7 billion Amazon products; that is the service’s own coverage claim, not an independent audit. Check the relevant Amazon marketplace and product listing in Keepa to confirm that it tracks the item you mean.
CamelCamelCamel for Amazon price watches
CamelCamelCamel provides Amazon price-history charts, price watches and email alerts. Its feature page lists Amazon marketplaces in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. Registration is optional, but if you create a watch without registering, save the alert email or link so you can edit it later. When creating a watch, choose the price type that matches the offer you would buy. CamelCamelCamel describes Amazon/New/Used price types; do not assume they represent every seller or listing in the same way.

Chrome’s Shopping Insights can show price history and ranges for products across the web, including variants such as different colors or storage capacities. Google lists Australia, Canada, India, Japan and the United States as supported countries. Its instructions require Chrome sign-in with a Google Account, tab and history sync, and enabling “Make searches and browsing better.” The cited step-by-step instructions are for Android, so labels or availability may differ on other devices. These tools overlap, but the available documentation does not establish which is most accurate or sends alerts fastest. Choose based on whether it covers your retailer, country and exact variant, and on the alert method and account settings you are comfortable using.
Set an alert that reflects the price you would actually pay
- Open the exact product listing. Confirm the model and variant before starting a watch, so an alert for a similar but unsuitable item does not mislead you.
- Choose the tracker and price type. For Amazon, use Amazon’s own history or a service such as Keepa or CamelCamelCamel. In CamelCamelCamel, select the Amazon/New/Used type that matches the offer you intend to buy.
- Set a target price or drop alert. Pick a price at which you would genuinely consider buying, rather than treating any “sale” label as a good deal. Amazon says Alexa for Shopping can alert users when an item reaches a target amount and can provide deal alerts matching a product need.
- Check how notifications work. Chrome lets users adjust price-tracking notifications in settings. Google notes that tracking may continue even when notifications are off: monitoring an item and receiving an alert are separate things. For other services, use their watch or alert controls and check the email address or notification settings associated with the watch.
- Keep a way to manage the watch. If you create a CamelCamelCamel watch without an account, save its email or link so you can edit it later.
Use price history to judge a sale, then verify the live offer
A history chart or range puts today’s displayed price in context: it can help you see whether the price is lower than the listing’s tracked past range. But a chart is not proof that the offer is the best available or that every coupon, seller, shipping charge or variant is included. The cited services document histories, ranges and alerts, not complete coverage of every purchase condition.
