Microsoft publishes a public Azure Status RSS feed for broad, publicly disclosed incidents. Subscribe to https://azure.status.microsoft/status/feed/ in any RSS reader, but pair it with Azure Service Health alerts when you need subscription-, region-, or resource-specific notifications.
The official Azure Status RSS feed
Use Microsoft’s current feed endpoint:
https://azure.status.microsoft/status/feed/
It represents updates published on the public Azure Status page. That page provides a global view of Azure service and regional health. Microsoft also publishes incident history and Post-Incident Reviews at https://azure.status.microsoft/en-us/status/history.
Older guides may contain obsolete Azure Status domains or feed paths. Verify the address against Microsoft’s Azure Status documentation before deploying it in a runbook.
Subscribe with an RSS reader
- Open your RSS application or hosted reader.
- Choose Add feed, Subscribe, or the equivalent command.
- Paste
https://azure.status.microsoft/status/feed/. - Confirm the subscription and rename it, for example, Microsoft Azure Status.
- Set the reader’s refresh interval, retention period, folder, and notification policy.
Menu labels differ between Feedly, Inoreader, Outlook, Thunderbird, FreshRSS, and mobile apps. RSS is a public feed and does not require Azure portal authentication.

- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
Verify that the feed works
A browser may show raw XML, download a file, or report that it cannot render the response. That behavior does not by itself mean the endpoint is unavailable. Test the URL directly instead.
Using curl
curl -L -I https://azure.status.microsoft/status/feed/
Then retrieve the feed body:
curl -L https://azure.status.microsoft/status/feed/
Using PowerShell
Invoke-WebRequest `
-Uri "https://azure.status.microsoft/status/feed/" `
-UseBasicParsing
A successful request should return an RSS/XML response from Microsoft’s Azure Status endpoint. Check the HTTP response, XML content, and your reader’s parsing result rather than expecting an HTML page.
What the feed covers—and what it does not
The RSS feed mirrors the public Azure Status channel. Microsoft says public communications are mainly used when an issue has broad or significant impact across multiple services or a full or multiple regions, when customers cannot access the Azure portal or Service Health, or when Microsoft cannot yet identify affected customers, regions, or services well enough for targeted notifications. See Microsoft’s Azure Status overview.

Useful for
- Broad regional outages.
- Multi-service incidents.
- Major connectivity problems.
- Publicly disclosed events affecting a large part of the Azure platform.
- Early awareness while your team confirms its own impact.
Not a complete customer health inventory
- It does not list every issue affecting one subscription, tenant, customer, or resource.
- It is not the primary channel for subscription-specific planned maintenance, health advisories, or security advisories.
- It does not provide resource-level availability data.
- It is not a guaranteed, real-time paging mechanism; readers poll on their own schedules.
The Azure Status page may update in real time, but distinguish Microsoft’s publication or update time from your reader’s polling time, automation processing time, and notification time. An empty feed means that no currently published public incident is visible; it does not prove that every Azure resource is healthy.
Azure Status RSS versus Azure Service Health
| Capability | Azure Status RSS | Azure Service Health |
|---|---|---|
| Access | Public feed; no Azure login required | Personalized Azure portal experience |
| Scope | Broad public incidents | Events relevant to subscriptions, services, regions, and tenant directories |
| Planned maintenance | Not its primary purpose | Supported |
| Health and security advisories | Limited public coverage | Supported notification classes |
| Resource-specific problems | No | Use Service Health and Resource Health as appropriate |
| Automation | RSS-reader rules or your own feed processor | Azure Monitor action groups, webhooks, Logic Apps, and ITSM integrations |
| Best use | Public situational awareness | Operational notification and response |
Microsoft recommends the personalized Service Health experience for a fuller view of issues that may affect your services.
Configure Service Health alerts for production notifications
- Sign in to the Azure portal Service Health.
- In the Service Issues panel, select Create service health alert.
- Choose the subscription scope, services, regions, event types, and, where applicable, resource group.
- Enter an alert rule name and select recipients or an action group.
- Select Create.
Microsoft documents email, SMS, Azure mobile-app push, webhooks, Logic Apps, and ITSM integrations for these alerts. Its current guidance says Service Health alerts are supported in public clouds within the global region and that the associated action group should use the Global region. See the alert configuration documentation.

- NIGHTHAWK WIFI 6 ROUTER FOR YOUR WHOLE HOME: Delivers fast, reliable WiFi across every room of your apartment or small home for streaming, gaming, video calls, and smart home devices, all running at the same time without slowing each other down.
- WORKS WITH YOUR EXISTING INTERNET SERVICE: Pairs with your existing modem or gateway via ethernet. Compatible with most cable, fiber, DSL, and satellite providers. Some gateways and modem router combos may require bridge mode. No coax needed.
- SET UP AND MANAGE YOUR NETWORK WITH THE NIGHTHAWK APP: Download the free Nighthawk app on iOS or Android for guided setup. Manage WiFi, run speed tests, pause devices, and set up guest networks from anywhere. Active internet required.
- READY FOR THE DEVICES YOU ALREADY OWN: Your phones, laptops, and TVs work right out of the box. WiFi 6 delivers speeds up to 1.8 Gbps across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Backward compatible with WiFi 5 and earlier.
- COVERAGE IN EVERY ROOM: Covers up to 1,500 sq. ft. for up to 20 connected devices. Walls, floors, and interference can reduce range. Larger or multi-story homes may benefit from a NETGEAR Orbi mesh WiFi system.
You can select all services and regions; Microsoft says Service Health triggers only for relevant events rather than automatically notifying you about unused services or regions. Test the resulting configuration against your own escalation requirements.
A practical incident workflow
- Receive or detect an RSS item.
- Open the linked Azure Status entry and record its incident title and tracking ID.
- Check affected services, regions, start time, last update, current status, and Microsoft’s mitigation or recovery statement.
- Compare the listed scope with your deployments and traffic paths.
- Check Service Health for personalized impact, then Resource Health and application telemetry for resource-level evidence.
- Put the tracking ID and affected region in the incident ticket or stakeholder update.
For example, Microsoft’s history page records a July 23, 2026 West US network-connectivity incident (tracking ID ZJV6-SGG) that affected a subset of customers between 14:44 UTC and 19:41 UTC. The regional and customer qualifiers matter: an Azure Status item is not automatically a platform-wide outage.

- Store previously seen IDs or links so updates do not create duplicate notifications.
- Do not assume every entry has identical fields.
- Use the linked status page for full incident details.
- Apply your own region, service, severity, and escalation rules.
- Do not page solely because an RSS item exists.
This is a feed-processing example, not a promise of a Microsoft-supported incident API contract.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Troubleshoot missing, stale, or delayed updates
The feed is empty
There may be no current public incident, the reader may hide resolved items, or Microsoft may be handling the event through personalized Service Health instead. Also check reader caching, refresh settings, XML parsing, proxies, firewalls, and content filters.
The feed is stale
- Open Azure Status directly and compare its last update time with the reader.
- Fetch the endpoint with curl or PowerShell.
- Check whether the reader’s polling interval is long.
- Check proxy, TLS-inspection, and outbound-firewall behavior.
- Remove and re-add the exact feed URL if the reader cached a bad address.
The reader rejects the URL or XML
Confirm that the address is exactly https://azure.status.microsoft/status/feed/. Try another RSS reader or a command-line fetch to distinguish a reader parser problem from an endpoint or network problem.

An alert arrived after the incident began
RSS is pull-based. Delay can be introduced by Microsoft publishing or updating the item, the reader’s polling schedule, network conditions, and notification processing. Use Service Health action groups for urgent operational escalation.
Azure Status is healthy but your application is failing
The problem may be limited to one customer, subscription, resource, or dependency, or may involve identity, networking, DNS, quota, deployment, configuration, or an external provider. Continue through Service Health, Resource Health, Azure Monitor, application logs, and dependency checks.
Status history and sovereign environments
Microsoft says the public history contains Post-Incident Reviews for Scenario 1 events occurring on or after November 20, 2019; it is not a complete archive of every Service Health event. The public Azure Status site also exposes geography categories such as Azure Government and Azure China. Verify that your feed and operating procedures cover the cloud environment your organization actually uses rather than assuming commercial-cloud coverage is identical everywhere.
The Bottom Line
Use Microsoft’s Azure Status RSS feed for broad public awareness. Use Azure Service Health alerts for subscription-specific incidents, maintenance, advisories, and production escalation; use Resource Health and application monitoring to diagnose individual resources.
