If your War Journal shows fewer collectibles than you remember picking up, use its act or chapter count to narrow the search, then compare that section against a checklist of named items. Replay only the chapter containing the missing entry. A single player has reported a count mismatch, but the available report does not establish that this is a widespread bug or identify a fix.
Use the War Journal to find the short section
Start with the War Journal and note which act or chapter has an incomplete collectible count. The count helps identify where to investigate; it does not identify the particular object you missed. Compare the relevant chapter against a guide that lists collectible names and locations.

Keep the collectible count separate from Hard Cases, Supply Cache locations, and Secondary Objectives. They are distinct completion categories, so an incomplete count in one does not tell you whether another is complete.

Check the named entries before replaying
- Record the short act or chapter. Use the War Journal count to focus your search rather than revisiting the whole campaign.
- Compare the chapter with a named-item checklist. Identify the specific entry that is absent; a total alone cannot tell you which pickup was missed.
- Check transition points. Some guides assign a collectible to one act even though the pickup is found after the next act begins.
- Replay the narrowest relevant chapter if the item is confirmed missing. Published guides describe chapter replay or starting a new save from selected chapters for cleanup. Preserve your main save and match the missing named item to its chapter first.
Before leaving a chapter or district, sweep side routes and check the count. The independent guide compilation describes audio cues and controller vibration near collectibles as prompts to search, not proof that every item or category is complete.
Act 3 example: one listed pickup is in Act 4
GamersBeacon’s guide lists 36 collectibles across six Act 3 chapters, with chapter counts of 5, 6, 14, 3, 5, and 3. Its final Act 3 entry, “Commander’s Letter Home,” is credited to Act 3 but picked up at the beginning of Act 4. If the Act 3 count appears short at the transition, continue into Act 4 and check the named entry before deciding it was missed. Read the Act 3 locations guide. One Reddit player reported picking up 38 different collectibles in Act 2 while the War Journal showed 37. The post does not verify the cause or provide a confirmed remedy, so it is evidence of an individual report, not proof of a widespread tracking defect. If your count differs from your memory, first check the chapter route and named checklist; do not assume the game failed to record an item.
