How to Track Event Duties and Rewards in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Use the in-game Event menu as your source of truth. Open the active Star Path to see its Duties, mark tasks complete, collect the tokens they award, and spend those tokens on the Star Path reward track. Check Routine Duties, the Star Path Vault, and DreamSnaps separately: they use related event screens but have different progress, currencies, schedules, and claim locations.

Limited-time content rotates, so always read the timer on the current Event page before planning what to finish. The labels and rules below reflect Gameloft’s published systems through April 2026; a later game update can move a menu or change a requirement.

Know which event system you are tracking

“Event rewards” in Disney Dreamlight Valley are not one single checklist. The game currently presents several systems that can appear together in the Event area. If you check the wrong screen, you may think a task, token, or prize is missing when it is simply tracked somewhere else.

System Where to look What completion produces Cadence and availability How you claim
Star Path Duties Event menu, then the active Star Path’s Duties page Star Path tokens used on the Star Path Rewards track Seasonal; tied to the currently active Star Path and its timer Collect the completed Duty reward, then spend tokens in Rewards
Routine Duties The Routine Duties area in the active Star Path Tokens and progress that can also advance the Vault when that track is active Released weekly; each released Duty remains available after it is unlocked Complete and collect each Duty from its Duty screen
Star Path Vault Vault page inside the active Star Path, when shown Sequential Vault reward progress Uses Routine Duties; its reward selection rotates with each new Star Path Open Vault and claim each unlocked reward in order
DreamSnaps Event menu, then the DreamSnaps submission page A challenge reward after the voting period Submission and voting windows vary by challenge Check the in-game mailbox and claim the delivered reward

Gameloft’s Help Center describes Star Path as a seasonal mission system with separate progression tracks. That separation explains why a completed Routine Duty can affect more than one progress indicator while a DreamSnaps result does not add Star Path tokens.

Start with the live Event page and timer

  1. Open the game’s Event menu. The exact controller or keyboard shortcut differs by platform, so use the on-screen menu prompt rather than a platform-specific button guide.
  2. Select the event that is currently active. For Star Path content, choose the active Star Path rather than an older announcement or a general event landing page.
  3. Read the countdown or end date shown on that page. Treat it as the deadline for the rewards displayed there; event calendars outside the game can become outdated when an update changes timing.
  4. Note which sections are visible: Duties, Routine Duties, Rewards, Vault, or DreamSnaps. A section that is absent may simply not be part of the current event.

The live page is more reliable than a remembered schedule. Gameloft’s Routine Duties explanation published August 18, 2025, gives Wednesday at 1:00 PM UTC as the release time, but later updates can alter cadence or presentation. Use that time as historical guidance, then confirm the next release with the current in-game timer or notice.

Track and collect regular Star Path Duties

Regular Star Path Duties are the main task list for the seasonal Star Path. They are the source of the tokens you later exchange for items on the Star Path reward track.

Open the correct list

  1. From Event, open the active Star Path.
  2. Choose Duties. Do not use the Rewards page alone; Rewards shows what tokens can buy, not the tasks that generate them.
  3. Review every visible Duty and its exact wording. The requirement shown in the game is the definition of what counts, and the wording can differ from one Star Path to another.

Complete a Duty and verify its state

  1. Select one uncompleted Duty and keep its requirement in mind while you play.
  2. Perform the stated activity in the game. You can leave the menu, complete the activity, and return to the Event screen when finished.
  3. Reopen the same Duty list. Look for the completed state and the control that collects its token reward. A task being marked complete and its token being collected are separate checkpoints when the interface presents both.
  4. Check the token total shown in the Star Path interface after collecting. If the total has not changed, stay on the Duty page and look for an unpressed collect control before moving to Rewards.

Spend the tokens on the reward track

  1. Open Rewards within the same Star Path.
  2. Review the token cost and any availability condition displayed for each item.
  3. Choose a reward only after confirming that the token balance is the balance for this Star Path. Vault progress and DreamSnaps prizes are not substitutes for Star Path tokens.
  4. Use the on-screen claim or purchase control. Return to the Rewards page to confirm that the item changed to its claimed state.

The practical loop is therefore Duty requirement → completed state → collect tokens → Rewards page → claim an item. Stopping after the activity or stopping after the completion marker can leave the reward uncollected.

Track Routine Duties and weekly catch-up rules

Routine Duties are a separate release stream inside the Star Path. Gameloft’s August 18, 2025 Star Path deep dive states: “Routine Duties do not go away once they’re unlocked.” That means a late starter can still work on a Routine Duty that was released earlier, provided it has been unlocked on the account.

Find newly released and older Routine Duties

  1. Open the active Star Path from the Event menu.
  2. Enter the Routine Duties section or tab. The exact label can move with an interface update, so look for the area that identifies weekly or routine tasks.
  3. Record which Duties are available, which are locked, and which are complete. A locked entry is not the same as an expired entry.
  4. Complete an available Duty, return to this list, and collect its displayed reward. Repeat for older released Duties before assuming you missed them.

Understand the two order rules

The August 2025 official explanation distinguishes access types:

Rank #2
Disney Dreamlight Valley Standard - Nintendo Switch [Digital Code]
  • A Nintendo Switch Online membership may be required for online play. Please check the game detail page on Nintendo.com for membership requirements.
  • 2023 Disney. 2023 Disney/Pixar. 2023 Gameloft. All Rights Reserved.
  • Non-Premium players: released Routine Duties must be completed in order. The next Duty may remain unavailable until the earlier released Duty is finished.
  • Premium players: released Routine Duties can be completed in any order, which allows catch-up on several released tasks without following release order.

These rules concern the order in which released Duties can be completed; they do not make a Duty permanent beyond the event’s overall availability. The Star Path timer still controls how long the event and its rewards remain usable.

Plan around the release window

Gameloft’s published schedule lists Wednesday at 1:00 PM UTC for Routine Duty releases in the 2025 explainer. Convert that time to your own time zone only for planning, then verify the actual release in the current game. If a new Duty is not visible at the expected time, close and reopen the Event page, check for an update, and rely on the timer or in-game announcement rather than an old calendar.

Use the Star Path Vault without confusing it with Rewards

The Vault is a distinct, sequential reward track. Gameloft introduced it in an announcement dated April 7, 2026. Its progress is tied to Routine Duties, not to a separate currency that you earn from ordinary Star Path Duties.

How Vault progress is earned

  1. Open the active Star Path and select Vault if that page is available.
  2. Read the next locked reward and the progress requirement displayed on the Vault page.
  3. Complete Routine Duties from the Routine Duties list. The official Vault announcement says each Vault reward requires three Routine Duties.
  4. Return to the Vault to confirm that the counter advanced. Those same Routine Duties count toward both the active Star Path and Vault progression.
  5. When the next Vault reward unlocks, claim it before moving on to the following item. The Vault is linear, so rewards unlock in sequence rather than allowing arbitrary selection.

Account for the rotating selection

The Vault’s item selection rotates with each new Star Path. A guide or screenshot from an earlier season cannot establish what the current Vault contains. Open the live Vault page to see the present items, the number of Routine Duties still required, and the event timer.

Because Routine Duties can feed two progress indicators, keep a simple mental distinction: the Duty produces the progress, the Star Path track and the Vault display where that progress is being counted. Do not expect a Vault unlock to appear as an increase in your ordinary Star Path token balance.

Track DreamSnaps submissions and mailbox rewards

DreamSnaps uses a different reward flow from Star Path Duties. Completing or submitting a DreamSnaps challenge does not place a Star Path token in the Star Path wallet.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Submit through the Event tab

  1. Open Event and select the current DreamSnaps challenge.
  2. Review the challenge requirements and the submission window shown in the game.
  3. Submit your entry from the DreamSnaps event page. Keep the submission confirmation visible until you know the game accepted it.
  4. After the voting period ends, return to the game and open the mailbox. Gameloft’s DreamSnaps instructions identify the mailbox as the place where results and rewards are delivered.
  5. Open the message and use its claim control. A mailbox reward is not collected from the Star Path Duties or Rewards pages.

Why DreamSnaps can look delayed

DreamSnaps rewards arrive after voting, not immediately when you submit. The relevant deadline is therefore the challenge’s voting schedule, not the Star Path Duty release schedule. If the mailbox is empty while voting is still underway, that is expected; check again after the game identifies the results as available.

Read completion, currency, and claim states correctly

Three different states are easy to conflate:

  • Progress: the game has counted activity toward a requirement.
  • Completion: the Duty or challenge requirement is satisfied.
  • Claimed reward: you have pressed the control that transfers the token, item, or mailbox prize to your account.

Use the page that owns the state. Duties show Duty progress and completion; the Star Path Rewards page shows token spending; the Vault shows sequential unlocks; DreamSnaps uses the mailbox after voting. A check mark on one page is not proof that a reward on another page has been claimed.

A practical routine for never losing track

Use this short routine whenever a Star Path or related event is active:

  1. Check the timer first. Write down the event’s displayed end date and any separate DreamSnaps submission or voting deadline.
  2. Scan all visible sections. Open Duties, Routine Duties, Rewards, and Vault. Open DreamSnaps separately if it appears.
  3. Finish the most constrained tasks. If you are a non-Premium player, follow the released Routine Duty order. If a Vault is active, remember that three Routine Duties are required for each Vault reward.
  4. Collect immediately. After a Duty turns complete, use its collect control before leaving the Event menu.
  5. Spend and claim in the owning track. Use tokens in Star Path Rewards, claim Vault items in Vault, and claim DreamSnaps results in the mailbox.
  6. Recheck before the deadline. Open the live Event page again, confirm no released Routine Duty remains, and inspect the mailbox for a DreamSnaps message after voting.

Troubleshoot the most common tracking problems

A Duty is complete but no token appears

Return to the active Star Path’s Duties page and look for a separate collect control. Then check the token balance on the Star Path Rewards page. Do not use Vault progress as a token balance; the two tracks display different kinds of progress.

An older Routine Duty seems to be missing

Check whether it is locked or merely below the newest entry. Routine Duties remain available after they are unlocked, but non-Premium access follows release order. Premium access allows released Duties in any order. A Duty that was never unlocked, or an event whose timer has ended, cannot be treated as a currently available task.

The Vault counter did not move

Confirm that the task you completed was a Routine Duty, not an ordinary Star Path Duty. The Vault announcement specifies three Routine Duties per Vault reward, and those Duties should be reflected on the Vault page when the active Vault is present. Reopen the Vault after collecting the Duty reward to read the current counter.

A DreamSnaps reward is not in Star Path Rewards

That is the wrong claim location. DreamSnaps results are delivered through the in-game mailbox after voting. Open the mailbox only after the voting period has ended and claim the message there.

The listed reward differs from a guide or calendar

Use the current Event page and its timer. Star Path and Vault selections rotate, and event dates can change with updates. A dated event index or an older screenshot can help you recognize a system, but it cannot override what the live game currently offers.

What can change after an update

The mechanics documented by Gameloft in 2025 and 2026 establish the distinctions between Star Path Duties, Routine Duties, the Vault, and DreamSnaps. They do not guarantee that every future season will use the same labels, release hour, number of visible tasks, or reward selection. Interface placement can also change.

Before committing time or currency, verify three things in the current build: the name of the active event, the timer attached to it, and the page that contains its claim button. This habit prevents the most expensive mistake—finishing a task but leaving its reward unclaimed until the event has ended.
