Start by checking whether the exact item appears in an official LEGO or Pokémon product listing. LEGO and The Pokémon Company International have a real partnership, and LEGO has announced official Pokémon building sets. But the official announcements reviewed here do not identify a LEGO Pokémon blind-box line. A logo, a seller’s claim, or the partnership itself is not proof that a particular blind box is licensed.
What the official announcements establish
On March 18, 2025, the LEGO Group and The Pokémon Company International announced a multi-year partnership, with LEGO Pokémon products planned from 2026. LEGO’s partnership announcement and The Pokémon Company International’s announcement establish that the partnership is real; they do not validate every item bearing both names.

LEGO announced its first Pokémon building sets on January 12, 2026, including Eevee and a Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise set. LEGO said the sets would be available from February 27, 2026 through LEGO.com, LEGO Stores and selected retailers. The announcement identifies specific products and sales channels.

How to check a claimed blind box
- Find the exact product identity. Note the full product name and any number printed on the packaging or listing. Search official LEGO and Pokémon product information for that exact name and number, not just for “LEGO Pokémon.”
- Check that the number belongs to that product. A number printed on seller-created packaging is not confirmation by itself. Compare it with an official listing that associates the same number with the same named product.
- Check the format. The cited official announcements describe building sets. If a seller calls an item a blind box, look for an official source that names that format and the specific product. Do not treat an announced building set as a blind box simply because a seller packages or markets it that way.
- Consider the sales channel, but do not stop there. LEGO named LEGO.com, LEGO Stores and selected retailers for the first sets. An offer through another marketplace is not automatically counterfeit, but it still needs product-level verification; a familiar marketplace or retailer name alone does not prove that the particular item is authentic.
- Ask for case-specific confirmation if the match is unclear. Send LEGO or The Pokémon Company International the product name, number, listing and clear photos of all packaging panels. Ask whether that exact item is an officially licensed product. A general partnership announcement cannot certify an individual box.
What packaging and logos can—and cannot—tell you
Matching logos, polished packaging, or a plausible-looking product number can be useful clues to investigate, but none is conclusive on its own. LEGO’s product-copying brochure says the company opposes copying products and packaging intended to mislead buyers about origin. That general position is not an item-level authentication test, and it does not provide a blind-box checklist.
Use packaging details to compare the item with official product information, not as a substitute for a match or company confirmation. The checks above can flag inconsistencies; the official sources cited here do not publish a definitive blind-box authentication guide.

What to do if you already bought one
- Save the order page, seller messages and receipt, and take clear photos of the box and any contents before discarding packaging.
- Compare the exact name, number and stated format with official product information. Record any mismatch rather than relying only on a logo or brand claim.
- Contact LEGO or The Pokémon Company International with the evidence and request confirmation for that specific item.
- If the seller’s description does not match the item or its licensing cannot be verified, use the marketplace or retailer’s return or dispute process and describe the discrepancy factually.
If you want a product publicly identified as part of the partnership, choose one of LEGO’s announced Pokémon building sets through an official channel. Buying one does not authenticate a blind box you already have.
