In 7 Days to Die, open the command console and enter tp -200 77 300 to teleport your character to a specific position. The first number is the east/west coordinate, the second is height (Y), and the third is the north/south coordinate. Use negative values for west and south. To land on the terrain instead of specifying height, use tp -200 300 or set y to -1 where your version accepts that form.

Console teleportation is an administrative action, not a normal movement mechanic. It can bypass exploration, terrain hazards and the consequences of getting lost. Make a backup or save your world before testing, particularly if you are using Debug Mode or operating a shared server.
- Single-player or host: you generally need access to the in-game console.
- Dedicated server: the server must permit console commands, and your account needs the required administrator or command permission.
- Mods and releases: a mod, server configuration or newer command implementation may change accepted arguments. Treat the syntax shown here as the documented form, then check your build’s built-in help.
- Destination: verify the coordinate signs and numbers before pressing Enter. A mistaken sign can put you thousands of blocks from the intended location.
Open the command console
On US and EU keyboard layouts, the Command Console reference lists F1 as the console key. Other keyboard layouts can use a different key, and some platforms expose console access through their own control settings.

- Load the world or server in which you have command access.
- Press F1 on a US or EU keyboard, or use the console key assigned by your layout or platform.
- Wait for the console prompt, then type the command without quotation marks.
- Press Enter and watch for an error message or a change in your player position.
If F1 does nothing, check the game’s keyboard or control settings and confirm that the server has not disabled console access. On a server, a local keyboard shortcut cannot override a permission restriction.
Teleport yourself to absolute coordinates
Full three-coordinate form
The local-player command is:
teleport <E / W> [y] <N / S>
tp is the shortcut for teleport. The first value identifies the east/west position, the optional middle value is the vertical Y coordinate, and the final value identifies the north/south position.
For example:
tp -200 77 300
This requests an east/west coordinate of -200, a height of 77, and a north/south coordinate of 300. In the documented coordinate convention, west and south are negative; therefore a positive east/west value is east of the origin, a negative east/west value is west, a positive north/south value is north, and a negative value is south.
Ground-spawn form
The command table also documents a two-number form:
tp -200 300
Here, the two values represent the horizontal east/west and north/south coordinates, while the game chooses a ground position for the vertical component. This is useful when you know the map location but do not know a safe Y value.
Force ground spawning with Y = -1
Where your version accepts a vertical argument, use y = -1 to request ground spawning:

tp -200 -1 300
The game resolves the height from the terrain rather than placing you at a manually supplied altitude. This can be safer than guessing a Y value, although the resulting location can still be unsuitable if the terrain, a structure or a mod changes the surface.
Choosing a safe destination
A coordinate is a map position, not a guarantee of a clear room or flat ground. Before teleporting, consider whether the destination could be inside a building, below the terrain, over a drop or in another hazardous area. If you are unsure of the height, use the two-number ground form or the -1 Y value supported by your build.
Move a short distance with a relative offset
Absolute coordinates are best when you have a known map location. For a small adjustment around your current position, use:
tp offset <inc E/W> <inc y> <inc N/S>
The values are increments rather than a new destination. The documented example is:

The command reference describes this example as moving three metres north and one metre upward relative to the current position. Because axis handling can differ across command implementations, run help tp in your own console if the direction or argument order behaves differently.
Use an offset when you need to get out of a tight spot, rise above an obstruction or make a controlled adjustment without calculating a complete coordinate. Keep the increments small until you have confirmed how your release interprets each axis.

Teleport another player
Send a player to specified coordinates
To move somebody else, use the player-targeting command:
teleportplayer <name / player id / steam id> <E / W> <y> <N / S>
The shortcut is tele. For example:
tele 171 -200 77 300
In this example, 171 identifies the player, and the remaining values specify the destination coordinates. Your account must have permission to run player-targeting commands; ordinary players on a managed server may be able to teleport themselves but not somebody else.

Find a usable player ID
Names can be mistyped or duplicated. Enter:
lpi
lpi lists player IDs currently recognized by the game. Copy the appropriate name, player ID or Steam ID into the first argument of teleportplayer or tele. If the list does not show the person, make sure they are connected and that you are running the command on the correct world or server.
Bring a friend to your location
A second documented form uses one player as the destination:
tele <friend> <self>
This moves the named friend to your current position. Replace <friend> with the player’s name or ID and keep <self> as the destination token expected by your command implementation. If the command is rejected, run help tele; some builds list only the coordinate form or use slightly different argument notation.
Use Debug Mode’s Set position menu

- Open the console and enter
dm. - Close the console using the normal console key.
- Open the Debug Mode interface and choose Set position.
- Enter the X and Z coordinates requested by the menu.
- Apply the position and confirm where your character appears.
The Debug Mode reference describes Set position as teleporting to X and Z coordinates while always spawning on the ground. It is therefore convenient when you know horizontal coordinates but do not want to calculate Y. Debug Mode also exposes advanced functions that can permanently affect a world, so save first and disable it when you are finished experimenting.

Replace every example number with the destination you actually intend to use. Do not include angle brackets; they indicate values you must supply.
Troubleshoot a failed or dangerous teleport
The console says the command is unknown
Run help tp or help tele. The primary command documentation was originally taken from an Alpha 15 command list, while a corroborating reference labels its table for later versions. Your release, server software or a mod may expose a different spelling, argument order or alias. Use the syntax printed by your own help command.
The command works locally but not on a server
Check administrator privileges and server-side command permissions. Dedicated servers can restrict teleport commands even when the client still displays the console. Ask the server administrator to confirm that your account is authorized and that the command is enabled in the server configuration.
The player cannot be found
Run lpi and use the exact listed name, player ID or Steam ID. Confirm that the target is online and that you did not accidentally include punctuation or extra spaces. If a name-based command fails, the numeric ID is usually the less ambiguous form.
You appear underground, in the air or inside a structure
Use a ground-spawn form on the next attempt: tp E/W N/S or tp E/W -1 N/S, depending on the syntax your help screen reports. A relative offset such as tp offset 0 2 0 can raise you slightly, but verify the axis order first with help tp. If the destination remains unsafe, return to a known coordinate or reload the backup made before testing.
The direction is opposite to what you expected
Remember that west and south are negative in the documented convention. Check which axis your build labels as east/west and north/south, then test with a small offset before using a large coordinate. The command’s own help text takes priority if it describes a different implementation.
Debug Mode changed more than your position
Debug Mode includes advanced options that can permanently affect a world. Stop using those controls, restore the pre-test save or backup if necessary, and reserve Debug Mode for a copy of an important world.
