On a Samsung Galaxy phone, take a screenshot with the device’s usual button or gesture controls. If the banking app blocks it, the restriction is usually intentional: Android lets apps protect sensitive screens. Use the bank’s official receipt, statement, export, or sharing option instead of trying to bypass the block.
Take a screenshot using your Galaxy’s normal controls
Screenshot controls vary by Galaxy model and software version, so use the method documented for your device. Samsung’s instructions for a folder phone show holding Home and Power/End together; that button combination is not a universal instruction for current Galaxy phones. To check whether the phone controls are working, take a screenshot in another app. If that works but the banking app refuses, the issue is likely limited to the bank app or the screen you are viewing.
Why a bank app may prevent screenshots
Android provides a secure-window setting called FLAG_SECURE. Android Developers explains: “When a window is flagged with FLAG_SECURE, Android prevents screenshots from being taken and prevents the window from being displayed on a non-secure display, such as a TV or projector.” The documentation names banking apps as an example of where protecting sensitive activities can be appropriate. A bank may apply protection to certain screens, such as a login or payment screen, rather than every part of its app. The Android mechanism explains how this can work, but does not establish which banks use it or which individual screens they protect.
Detection is different from blocking
Android 14 introduced an API that lets an app detect when a screenshot is taken. Detection does not itself mean the screenshot is blocked; Android documents FLAG_SECURE as the control for keeping activity content out of screenshots. Android Developers: Detect when users take device screenshots.

What to do when the app says “security policy”
You may see wording such as “I am unable to take a screenshot as there is a QR code on display and a message appears saying it is a security policy.” That wording comes from a Samsung Community post about a Galaxy A22, so it is an anecdotal example, not a standard message guaranteed to appear on every device. - Ask the bank for a record. Contact the bank or app maker and ask how to obtain a shareable copy of the information. Samsung Support advises contacting the app maker about app-specific screenshot restrictions. Samsung Support.
- Use an official record option if available. Look for a transaction receipt, statement, PDF download, export, or in-app sharing function. Availability and the details included depend on the bank; confirm that the record shows what you need before relying on it.
- Check the bank’s official website if it offers browser banking. The bank may provide a download or print option there, but confirm availability with that bank rather than assuming its website supports it.
Why workarounds are not the answer
Do not use modified apps, root access, or capture utilities to defeat a bank’s secure-screen restriction. Google Play policy says apps must respect other apps’ FLAG_SECURE declarations and must not facilitate workarounds. Google Play Console Help: Device and network abuse.

Samsung’s Secure Folder is a separate feature, and it may not appear on devices that do not support it. Samsung’s documentation does not establish that moving a banking app into Secure Folder overrides the app’s screenshot protection, so it should not be treated as a way to enable blocked captures.
