FireShot scrolls beyond the visible viewport and prepares one capture containing the page content below the fold. Save or export the result as an image or PDF.
The same extension also offers visible-part and selected-region captures. Use those when you do not need the whole document, then choose the output format and any editing or annotation tools available in your edition.
Capture an entire webpage with FireShot
Before you start
- Use Google Chrome with FireShot installed and enabled.
- Open the exact page you want to capture, not a search-results page or an intermediate redirect.
- Let the page finish its initial load. If important content appears only after a delay, wait for it before starting the capture.
- Decide whether you need a full-page image, a PDF, or only a portion of the page.
Step-by-step
- Open the webpage in Chrome.
- Open FireShot by selecting its toolbar icon. If the icon is hidden, open Chrome’s Extensions menu and select FireShot there.
- Choose the command to capture the entire page. The FireShot manual describes this mode as capturing areas that are not visible without scrolling.
- Wait while FireShot processes the page. Keep the tab open until the result appears.
- Use the save or export controls to choose a format and destination. The Chrome Web Store listing identifies PDF, PNG, and JPEG output; the FireShot product site also lists GIF and BMP.
- Open the saved file and check the top, middle, and bottom of the page. A quick inspection catches a late-loading image or a section that appeared after the capture began.
The result is a single long capture rather than a screenshot of only the current browser viewport. For a very long page, allow extra processing time and keep Chrome focused on the page until FireShot finishes.
Choose the right FireShot capture mode

The Chrome Web Store listing describes all three capture choices. Selecting “visible part” or a region will not automatically include content farther down the page, so choose the entire-page command when below-the-fold material matters.

Save as an image or PDF
Image formats
FireShot’s Chrome Web Store listing names PNG, JPEG, and PDF as save formats. The official FireShot site additionally describes GIF and BMP output. PNG is a practical choice for crisp interface text; JPEG can produce smaller files for photographic pages. GIF and BMP availability is described on the product site, so check the format menu in your installed edition before relying on either one.
PDF output
PDF is useful when the recipient needs a document rather than a very tall image. FireShot’s listing presents PDF output with direct links and selectable text as part of its upgrade. If those PDF features are not available in your installation, use the formats shown in your save dialog or review the current product offering.
Clipboard, printing, and Gmail
The Chrome Web Store listing also describes copying a capture to the clipboard, printing it, and attaching it to Gmail. These are alternatives to saving a file first. Availability can depend on the installed edition and the permissions Chrome grants to the extension.
Get a cleaner full-page result
Make sure late content has loaded
Modern pages may add images, tables, or text after the initial paint. Before choosing the entire-page command, wait for visible loading indicators to finish and, if necessary, scroll through the page once so you can confirm that the sections you need actually appear. Then run the capture again.
Check the capture from more than one position
Do not inspect only the top of a long image. Check an upper section, a middle section, and the final section. This reveals whether a lower block was omitted or whether an image loaded after FireShot began processing.

Use a smaller mode when a full page is not the goal
If a complete-page image is unwieldy, switch to visible-part or selected-region capture. A selected region is often easier to read when you need one table or chart rather than an entire article.
Editing, annotations, and upgraded capabilities
FireShot’s official product descriptions cover editing and annotation tools, batch capture, and multiple export options. The Chrome Web Store listing specifically presents an upgrade that adds PDF output with direct links and text, capture of specific scrolling areas, editing and annotation tools, additional image formats, and other export options.

Batch capture and sharing options
For repeated work, the Chrome Web Store listing describes batch capture of open tabs or a URL list. That can be more efficient than invoking the entire-page command one tab at a time, but review each output when page layouts differ. The same listing describes clipboard copying, printing, and Gmail attachments, giving you several ways to deliver a result without manually locating the saved file.
Privacy and local processing
The FireShot Chrome Web Store listing says the developer declares that it will not collect or use user data. Its feature description says screenshot capture is stored locally. Those are publisher disclosures, not an independently audited guarantee about every browser, operating-system, or third-party integration.

The listing uses this wording: “Screenshot is done instantly and stored locally. It never leaves your computer, so it’s 100% safe for storing a sensitive information.” Treat the statement as promotional language. For confidential material, follow your organization’s browser-extension policy, verify where your chosen export is saved, and avoid sending the file through an unapproved service.
Troubleshooting FireShot full-page captures
The result contains only the visible viewport
You probably selected the visible-part command. Reopen FireShot and choose the entire-page option, then wait for processing to finish. The three modes are separate.
The bottom of the page is missing
Return to the source page, wait for delayed content to appear, and run the capture again. Confirm that the page itself reaches the section you expect; a page that loads content only after an interaction may need that interaction before capture.
An image or section is blank
Refresh the page, allow the image or section to load, and retry. If the content remains unavailable in Chrome before capture, FireShot cannot include content that the page has not delivered.
A format or editor is unavailable
Compare the controls in your installation with the current Chrome Web Store and FireShot product descriptions. PDF features with direct links and text, scrolling-area capture, editing, annotation, extra formats, and other export options are described as upgrade capabilities.

The file is difficult to read or share
Try PNG for sharper interface text, JPEG for a smaller photographic image, or PDF when a document format is more appropriate. For a narrow need, capture a selected region instead of shrinking an entire page until its text is unreadable.

The capture takes a long time
Very long pages require more processing than a viewport capture. Keep the tab open, avoid closing Chrome while FireShot works, and divide the job into selected regions if a single image is impractical.
