To capture an Indian banking portal after login, use an authorized test account and Selenium WebDriver, wait for an application-specific condition that confirms the authenticated page is ready, then save and protect a PNG of the current browser window. Use the real login flow when the login journey is what you need to test; for tests focused on the page after login, use an API or other state setup only if the portal explicitly permits it.
Choose an approved way to establish the login state
Before automating anything, confirm that you have permission to test the portal and account. Prefer a dedicated test environment with synthetic or approved test accounts. Do not use real customers’ credentials or session cookies, and do not treat automation as a way around authentication controls.

Wait for the authenticated page, not just navigation
A browser reporting that navigation has completed does not prove that a JavaScript-driven dashboard, account summary, or other post-login content is ready. Dynamic content can arrive after document readiness. Prefer an explicit wait for a condition that identifies the expected authenticated page—for example, a portal-specific account-summary element or a known heading in the approved test environment. Choose the actual condition and selector from your portal’s test documentation; there is no safe generic selector for every bank.
Avoid guessed fixed sleeps where possible: they may waste time on a fast run and still be too short on a slow one. Selenium also advises against mixing implicit and explicit waits, because their combined timing can be unpredictable. Selenium: Waiting strategies.

Python example: wait, capture, and check the PNG
This example uses Python with Selenium 4’s Python binding. Replace the placeholder URL and locator with values from your authorized test environment, and supply credentials through your approved secret-management mechanism. The example deliberately does not invent a bank-specific login form or MFA flow.

Taking the screenshot after a permitted cookie setup
If your application explicitly supports setting test state this way, first navigate to the relevant domain, then add the permitted test cookie and refresh or navigate to the authenticated route as required by that application. Cookie names, values, attributes, and route behavior are application-specific; do not copy a production session or infer a recipe for an unspecified portal.
Protect the screenshot and test artifacts
A banking screenshot may expose account identifiers, balances, transactions, or personal information. Store it only in an access-controlled test location, redact details that are not needed to prove the test, and apply your organization’s retention policy. Avoid placing credentials, OTPs, PINs, or session values in source code, logs, screenshots, or shared artifacts.

- The wait times out: First confirm that login completed through the approved route and that the test reached the expected environment. Then verify the locator against the actual authenticated page and choose a condition that is visible only when that page is ready. Do not replace a failed condition with a guessed short sleep.
- The screenshot shows a loading state or incomplete dashboard: Navigation readiness is not the same as application readiness. Wait for a meaningful, portal-specific element or state, and check whether the page depends on asynchronous content.
- Cookie setup is rejected or has no effect: Confirm that the browser is on the cookie’s matching domain and that the test application permits this state setup. Cookie behavior and required attributes depend on the application.
- The PNG is missing or empty: Check the Boolean return value from the screenshot method, ensure the output directory is writable, and verify that the file exists and has nonzero size before publishing or attaching it to test results.
- Login automation stops at MFA or another challenge: Use only the bank-approved test arrangement for that step. Do not evade a challenge or substitute a real customer’s authentication material.
