To capture an entire webpage in Chrome on Windows 11 without installing an extension, use Chrome DevTools’ Capture full size screenshot command. Open DevTools with Ctrl+Shift+I, open its Command Menu with Ctrl+Shift+P, search for “screenshot,” then choose the full-size capture option. Chrome downloads an image of the page beyond the currently visible screen.
Capture a full webpage with Chrome DevTools
- Open the page in Chrome and wait for it to load.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+I to open DevTools.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+P to open the DevTools Command Menu.
- Type screenshot in the menu’s search field.
- Select Capture full size screenshot. Chrome generates and downloads the full-page image.
Choose the full-size option, not a viewport screenshot, if you need the content below the fold. Chrome documents full-page screenshot capture in DevTools: Chrome DevTools screenshot documentation.

Use an extension for a toolbar workflow
If you take scrolling screenshots often and prefer a toolbar button, a full-page capture extension is an alternative. GoFullPage is listed in the Chrome Web Store; its listing includes a version 8.9 change dated September 24, 2026. Before installing any extension, check its current listing, permissions, privacy disclosures, and reviews, since extensions may be able to access webpage content: GoFullPage listing.

FullPageShot’s listing describes a PNG capture of the current tab’s scrolling height and gives Ctrl+Shift+Y as its default Windows/Linux shortcut. The listing also says very long pages may be scaled to fit one image and that virtualized or infinite-scroll feeds may not be captured in full. These are claims made by the extension listing, not independent test findings: FullPageShot listing.

Why Snipping Tool does not capture a whole scrolling page
Windows 11 Snipping Tool opens with Windows+Shift+S and offers rectangle, window, full-screen, and free-form screen captures. These modes capture screen content; they do not scroll through a webpage to make one complete, below-the-fold image. For the full page, use DevTools or a browser extension. See Microsoft’s Snipping Tool guide.
What to check if the capture is incomplete
- The image only shows the visible screen: Open the Command Menu inside DevTools and search “screenshot.” Choose Capture full size screenshot, not a viewport capture.
- Content is missing on a dynamic page: Some pages load content as you scroll, or replace off-screen content instead of keeping it in the page. Virtualized and infinite-scroll feeds may therefore not appear as one complete image. Inspect the output; an extension may have the same limitation.
- The full-page image is difficult to read: Exceptionally long captures can be scaled down to fit one image, according to the FullPageShot listing. Consider capturing sections separately if the result is too small to use.
Or skip the browser setup
For a capture made from code, ScreenshotNeo provides a website screenshot API. This cURL example saves a WebP screenshot of the target page; replace YOUR_API_KEY with your key and change the URL if needed. See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for API details.

ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners as a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each of those steps can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers report the page verdict and whether the shot was billed. Its MCP server offers take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for AI agents and other MCP clients.
