To capture a whole webpage in Chrome on a MacBook Air, open the page, press Command-Option-I, then Command-Shift-P. Search for screenshot and choose Capture full size screenshot. Chrome captures the page beyond the visible screen, so you do not need to scroll manually.
Capture the full webpage in Chrome
- Open the webpage in Chrome and wait for it to load. If it contains content that appears only as you scroll, scroll through it first so that content has a chance to load.
- Press Command-Option-I to open Chrome DevTools. Chrome lists this shortcut for opening the last-used DevTools panel on Mac.
- Press Command-Shift-P to open the DevTools Command Menu.
- Type screenshot, then select Capture full size screenshot. This command is described in a Chrome Help Community response; the official Command Menu documentation covers area screenshots but does not name the full-size option.
- Check Chrome’s downloads for the image. The destination depends on your Chrome download settings; it is usually the Downloads folder if you have not changed it.
Chrome’s official DevTools documentation says the Command Menu can capture an area of a website. The full-size option is the one to choose when you need the page below the fold, rather than only the part currently on screen.

Choose the right kind of screenshot

For the built-in macOS Screenshot app, press Shift-Command-5. Apple documents this app for macOS Mojave 10.14 and later, with controls including a timer and save location. On supported Mac models running macOS Tahoe 26 or later, Apple also documents SDR/PNG and HDR/HEIF format choices. These macOS methods capture the screen or a window, not a scrolling full webpage.

If the full-page capture is incomplete
- Some content is missing: Wait for the page to finish loading, then try again. Pages that load images or other content dynamically may not render identically in a full-size capture. Inspect the saved image; no method guarantees the same result on every site.
- The page changes as you scroll: Scroll through the page before capturing to prompt lazy-loaded content to appear, then run the full-size command again.
- You cannot find the image: Check Chrome’s download destination and Chrome Downloads. The save location may differ if you changed Chrome’s settings.
- Area capture is unavailable or does not work: Dock DevTools to the Chrome window and use Capture area screenshot. Chrome says area capture does not work when DevTools is undocked.
- You captured only what was visible: The macOS display shortcuts capture screen pixels. Use Chrome DevTools’ Capture full size screenshot for the webpage below the fold.
