- Open the screen you want to capture.
- Press the Side/Power button and Volume Down at the same time, then release after a brief moment.
- Look for the screen flash or preview to confirm the screenshot.
- Open Gallery > Albums > Screenshots to view it.

Use Palm swipe instead
If you prefer a gesture, swipe the edge of your hand across the screen. If it does not work, check Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures and turn on Palm swipe to capture, if that option is available on your software version. The A52 guide gives this menu path; Samsung Canada confirms the same activation route. Labels and availability can vary by software and device.

Capture a long or scrolling page
- Take a regular screenshot while viewing the page or app.
- When the screenshot toolbar appears, tap Scroll capture, commonly shown as downward arrows.
- Tap the control again to extend the image through more of the page, as needed.
Scroll capture appears when the on-screen content can continue scrolling. The toolbar and its options can depend on settings and software; if the control is missing, the screen may fit within one view or that option may not be available in the current configuration. Choose the method that suits the situation

Fix common screenshot problems
The buttons open a power menu or do not capture
Press Side/Power and Volume Down together and release after a brief moment instead of holding them. If a bulky case prevents you from reaching the buttons, remove it temporarily to test access. Samsung Australia notes that cases can hinder button use; its guidance is intended for Australian variants.
Palm swipe does nothing
Check whether Palm swipe to capture is present and enabled at Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures. The option or its label may differ across software versions and device variants.

Scroll capture is missing
It is offered when the screen has more content to scroll. If the toolbar does not show it, the current content may not extend beyond one screen, or the toolbar and available options may differ with settings or software.
An app blocks the capture
Some apps and screens restrict screenshots for privacy or security, including protected areas such as banking apps. Samsung UK describes a security message in such cases, and Samsung US cautions that availability varies by provider, software and model. Respect the restriction rather than trying to bypass it.
