Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesTo capture a full page with lazy-loaded images in Puppeteer, scroll through the page to trigger image loading, wait for the images or a page-specific readiness condition, then take the screenshot with fullPage: true. Full-page capture expands the screenshot area; it does not guarantee that offscreen images have loaded.
Why lazy-loaded images can be missing
Pages often defer image requests until an image is near the viewport. Puppeteer’s fullPage option controls how much of the document the screenshot includes, not when the page requests its offscreen images. A navigation wait such as networkidle2 is a useful starting point, but it does not prove that lazy images farther down the page have loaded. See MDN’s image loading reference and the Puppeteer screenshot guide.

Scroll, check images, and capture
This CommonJS example uses Puppeteer’s Page.screenshot() API. It scrolls in viewport-sized increments to bring native lazy images near the viewport, returns to the top, waits for DOM image elements to finish, checks that each has usable pixels, and saves a full-page PNG.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteconst puppeteer = require('puppeteer');
async function capture(url) {
const browser = await puppeteer.launch({ headless: true });
try {
const page = await browser.newPage();
await page.goto(url, { waitUntil: 'networkidle2' });
await page.evaluate(async () => {
const step = Math.max(1, window.innerHeight);
for (let y = 0; y < document.documentElement.scrollHeight; y += step) {
window.scrollTo(0, y);
await new Promise(resolve => setTimeout(resolve, 250));
}
window.scrollTo(0, 0);
});
await page.waitForFunction(() =>
[...document.images].every(img => img.complete)
);
const imageResults = await page.evaluate(() =>
[...document.images].map(img => ({
src: img.currentSrc || img.src,
complete: img.complete,
naturalWidth: img.naturalWidth
}))
);
const brokenImages = imageResults.filter(img => !img.naturalWidth);
if (brokenImages.length) {
console.warn('Images without usable pixels:', brokenImages);
}
await page.screenshot({ path: 'page.png', fullPage: true });
} finally {
await browser.close();
}
}
capture('https://example.com').catch(error => {
console.error(error);
process.exitCode = 1;
});
Install Puppeteer in the project before running the script: npm install puppeteer. Replace the example URL with the page to capture. The scroll pause gives rendering and requests a chance to progress; it is not a guarantee that every site’s content is ready.

What the image check tells you
HTMLImageElement.complete becomes true when an image has finished loading or when loading has failed. It does not, by itself, mean the image succeeded. If missing pixels matter, inspect naturalWidth as above and decide whether to retry, report the failed asset, or allow the screenshot to proceed. MDN documents the complete property and the naturalWidth property.
Make readiness checks specific to the page
A generic scroll-and-wait routine is a starting pattern, not a universal lazy-loading solution. When you know which image or application state matters, wait for that condition instead. Puppeteer supports page-context evaluation and page.waitForFunction() for this kind of check; see the evaluate API and waitForFunction API.

// Wait for a particular image to finish and have usable pixels.
await page.waitForFunction(() => {
const img = document.querySelector('#hero-image');
return img && img.complete && img.naturalWidth > 0;
}, { timeout: 15000 });
Use a selector that matches the page’s actual markup. If a known application marker signals that the relevant content is ready, wait for that marker instead. On long or shifting pages, checking readiness after each scroll step can help avoid capturing before later content settles.

- Full document: use
page.screenshot({ path: 'page.png', fullPage: true })when the output needs the whole page. Scroll first so viewport-triggered content has a chance to load. - One component: select its element and use
ElementHandle.screenshot(). Puppeteer scrolls the element into view before capturing it, but that does not ensure every image inside has finished rendering. See the ElementHandle screenshot API.
Limits and page-specific cases
- JavaScript-driven lazy loading: a site may use its own intersection observers or other logic rather than native
loading="lazy". Verify that scrolling triggers the expected request and wait for the site’s actual readiness signal. - Nested scroll containers: scrolling the window will not necessarily reveal content inside a separately scrolling panel. Scroll the relevant container and check its images.
- Virtualized lists: some pages render only the currently visible items. A full-page screenshot cannot include items that the page has not rendered; use the site’s controls or an application-specific capture strategy.
- Background images and late DOM changes:
document.imagescovers image elements, not CSS background images or elements added after the check. Wait on the relevant selector or page state where needed. - Layout shifts: if you control the page, provide image
widthandheightattributes to reserve space and stabilize layout. MDN discusses this for image dimensions.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Images near the bottom are blank | They were never brought near the viewport, or the site uses custom lazy loading. | Scroll through the document and verify the image requests. For custom loading, trigger the page’s own mechanism and wait for a specific image or readiness marker. |
The script waits forever at waitForFunction |
An image never reaches the expected state, or the selector does not match. | Set a finite timeout, log the image’s src, complete, and naturalWidth, and decide how failed images should be handled. |
| The wait completes but an image is still blank | complete can also be true after a failed request. |
Check naturalWidth > 0 for images expected to display pixels; retry or report failures explicitly. |
| Content inside a panel is missing | The panel has its own scroll area, so window scrolling does not reveal its contents. | Scroll the panel itself and wait for its relevant images or application state. |
| A later screenshot section is absent | The page may render a virtualized list or add content after the readiness check. | Use a page-specific strategy to render the required items and wait until they are present before capture. |
| The screenshot is captured before visual changes settle | Network idleness does not necessarily correspond to application readiness. | Wait for a page-specific marker, selector, or other condition tied to the content you need. |

Does Puppeteer’s fullPage option load offscreen images?
No. It expands the screenshot extent, but offscreen lazy images must be triggered and made ready separately.
Is networkidle2 enough before a full-page screenshot?
It is a useful navigation wait, but it does not establish that all offscreen lazy images have loaded.
