On a Windows or Linux computer, press Ctrl+Shift+S in Brave. On macOS, press Cmd+Shift+S. Brave opens its screenshot feature so you can capture the visible page or select an area. For a screenshot of an entire page—including content below the fold—use Brave’s Chromium DevTools command menu and choose the full-size screenshot command instead.
The two workflows are different: the keyboard shortcut is the quick, everyday option, while DevTools is the practical desktop workaround for long pages. Mobile Brave should be treated separately because current Brave-specific long-screenshot instructions are not established here.
Choose the capture method first
| What you need | Best method | Coverage | Platforms |
|---|---|---|---|
| A normal screenshot of what is on screen | Brave screenshot shortcut | Visible area or a selected region, depending on the installed version | Windows, Linux and macOS desktop |
| A long image of the whole webpage | DevTools full-size screenshot command | The page, including content below the viewport | Desktop Brave |
| A basic phone or tablet screen capture | The operating system’s screenshot controls | What the device captures on screen | Android and iOS |
Brave Community staff member Mattches confirms that You can use
The shortcut and feature are established, but individual Brave releases can present different selection, save and copy controls.Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows and Linux and Cmd+Shift+S on macOS to take a screenshot in Brave.
Take a normal screenshot on Brave desktop
- Open the webpage in Brave and click the page or browser window so Brave has focus.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux. On macOS, press Cmd+Shift+S.
- Use the controls shown by your installed Brave version to capture the visible page or drag over the region you want.
- Use the displayed save or copy control. The exact labels and destination can vary by release, so follow the dialog currently shown rather than assuming a particular filename or format.
When the shortcut is the right choice
- You need a quick record of a dashboard, article, error message or checkout step.
- The important content fits in the current viewport.
- You want to mark or select only part of the page instead of capturing everything.
What the shortcut does not guarantee
Community reports describe the built-in tool as a visible-area or selected-region capture. Do not assume that Ctrl+Shift+S automatically scrolls through a long page. If the page extends below the screen, use the DevTools method below.

Capture a full webpage with DevTools
For a single image containing the entire desktop webpage, Brave’s Chromium-based DevTools provides a full-size screenshot command. This is a developer-oriented route, and command names or placement may change between releases.
- Open the target page in Brave.
- Open DevTools. Press F12 where that shortcut is supported, or use Brave’s developer-tools entry in the browser menu.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows or Linux, or the equivalent command-menu shortcut shown by DevTools on macOS.
- Search for screenshot.
- Choose the command labeled Capture full size screenshot, Capture full-page screenshot, or similar wording in your release.
- Wait for DevTools to render the full document and save the resulting image using the dialog provided.
If search returns several screenshot commands, select the one that explicitly says full size or full page, not the viewport-only command. A page with lazy-loaded images, sticky headers or animated content may render differently as DevTools captures it; let the page settle before invoking the command.
If the full-size command is missing
- Confirm that DevTools is open and that the command menu was opened from DevTools, not Brave’s address bar.
- Search for both full size screenshot and capture screenshot; labels vary by Chromium release.
- Reload the page, wait for its content to finish loading, and try again.
- Update Brave if the DevTools interface is unusually old, while remembering that menu wording can still differ after an update.
Android and iPhone: what is—and is not—confirmed
The evidence available for this guide does not establish a current Brave-specific screenshot shortcut or an in-app long-page capture workflow for Android or iOS. For an ordinary capture, use your device’s own screenshot controls. That creates a device-level image of what is currently displayed; it should not be advertised as a guaranteed full webpage capture.
For a long article or page on mobile, check the current documentation for your phone model and Brave version. Android vendors use different names for scrolling capture, and iOS availability depends on the app and the screen being captured. Do not assume that a control offered by the operating system is a Brave feature.

Troubleshooting common Brave screenshot problems
The shortcut does nothing
Make sure the Brave window is focused and the page has finished loading. On macOS, use Cmd, not Ctrl. On Windows or Linux, use Ctrl+Shift+S together. A desktop utility or operating-system shortcut may also intercept the same keys; temporarily disable the conflicting shortcut or use DevTools.
The result includes only the visible area
That is expected for the ordinary tool in many versions. Use DevTools, open its command menu with Ctrl+Shift+P, and select the full-size/full-page screenshot command.
The page is cut off or blank in the full-page image
Wait for fonts, images and dynamically inserted sections to load before capturing. Scroll through the page once if its site loads content only after scrolling, then retry. Close obstructive overlays where possible. If the site requires a login, keep the authenticated Brave tab open; DevTools captures the page in that browser session.

A cookie banner, chat bubble or newsletter popup covers the content
Dismiss the overlay before using the shortcut or DevTools. If it returns after a reload, capture after accepting or rejecting the site’s consent prompt according to your preferences. A browser screenshot records what is rendered; it does not automatically clean third-party widgets.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Sticky navigation appears repeatedly or overlaps sections
Sticky elements can remain visible during a full-size render. Try closing expanded menus and letting any transition finish. If you need a publication-ready image without overlays, use a capture service that can hide selectors or remove common widgets before rendering.
The image is too large to share
Full-page images can be tall and memory-intensive. Capture only the needed region with Brave’s normal tool, or resize and convert the finished image before uploading it. For documentation, retain the original and create a smaller copy for distribution so text remains legible in the source file.
Quality, privacy and reliability checks
Check the page state
- Confirm the correct account, workspace or route is open before capturing.
- Hide passwords, API keys, personal addresses and private customer data.
- Pause videos and animations when a stable frame matters.
- Check the bottom of a full-page image for missing sections or clipped content.
Understand what a browser screenshot records
A screenshot is a visual copy of the rendered page. It can include private information visible in the tab, including names, notifications and data loaded after login. Treat the file like the page itself when storing or sharing it. Brave’s screenshot controls do not create an audit trail of the URL, time or browser settings, so add that context separately when evidence or reproducibility matters.

Make repeated captures consistent
Use the same window size, zoom level, theme, logged-in state and page-loading wait each time. Record the page URL and capture date in your notes. For dynamic sites, a short delay after the last network activity can produce a more stable result than capturing immediately after navigation.

For automated or repeatable captures, ScreenshotNeo takes a screenshot from one HTTP request. Its cleanup steps accept the cookie or consent banner like a visitor and remove more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits are not billed, and the response identifies the result with X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers.
See the parameter reference and setup notes in the ScreenshotNeo documentation. This cURL request saves a WebP screenshot of Stripe:

import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)

const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
ScreenshotNeo also provides full-page capture, CSS-selector element capture, device presets and custom viewports, retina scale, PDF output, custom CSS and JavaScript, clicks before capture, selector hiding, waits for a selector or network idle, request and ad blocking, headers, cookies, user-agent, authorization, timezone and geolocation controls, transparent backgrounds, resizing, chosen cache TTLs, signed links, asynchronous jobs with signed webhooks, bulk capture for up to 100 URLs per call, a usage API and an OpenAPI specification. Frequently Asked Questions
Can Brave’s normal screenshot shortcut capture only part of a page?
Yes. The desktop tool is described as capturing the visible area or a selected region. It should not be treated as a guaranteed long-page capture.
Do Brave mobile screenshots automatically include the whole webpage?
No such Brave-specific behavior is established here. A phone’s built-in screenshot captures the displayed screen; long-page support depends on the device and app.
Why do DevTools screenshot command names differ?
Brave tracks Chromium-based DevTools, and interface labels can change between releases. Search the DevTools command menu for “screenshot” and choose the full-size or full-page option.
