In Firefox, open the webpage with its own dark theme enabled, right-click an empty area, choose Take Screenshot, then select Save full page. You can also open the screenshot tool with Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS. The page itself—not just the browser toolbar—must be rendered dark when you capture it.
Capture the whole dark webpage in Firefox
- Turn on the website’s dark theme. Use the site’s theme setting or dark-mode control if needed. Check the page content to confirm it looks dark; Firefox’s dark browser frame or DevTools theme does not change the page’s appearance.
- Open the screenshot tool. Right-click an empty area of the page and select Take Screenshot. On macOS, Control-click is the equivalent. Alternatively, use Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows/Linux or Command+Shift+S on macOS.
- Choose Save full page. Do not choose Save visible, which captures only the area currently on screen.
- Save or copy the image. Choose Download to save it in Firefox’s default download folder, or Copy to put it on the clipboard. Open the result and check that it contains the page from top to bottom before sharing.
Mozilla’s instructions cover capturing visible portions or full webpages and copying or saving the result: Take screenshots in Firefox.

Use Firefox Developer Tools for more control
Developer Tools offers a full-page capture option and a Web Console command with additional parameters.
Recommended Free Tools
Enable the screenshot toolbar button
- Open Developer Tools settings.
- Under Available Toolbox Buttons, enable Take a screenshot of the entire page.
- Click the screenshot button in the toolbox. Firefox saves the capture in Downloads.
Capture from the Web Console
Enter :screenshot --fullpage in the Web Console to save the entire webpage, including content beyond the current window. The command also supports optional delay, device-pixel-ratio, clipboard, and filename parameters. When specifying a filename, use a name ending in .png. Consult Mozilla’s Firefox Developer Tools screenshot documentation for the command’s parameter details.

Check the result and fix common problems
- The screenshot looks light: Change the webpage’s own theme setting. Browser chrome and the DevTools interface can be dark while the webpage remains light.
- Only part of the page is present: Use Save full page, not Save visible.
- You need a delay or a particular filename: Use the Web Console
:screenshotcommand, which supports delay and filename options. - Content is missing or repeated: Some pages load content as you scroll. Wait for loading to finish before capturing, then inspect the image for gaps or repeated sections. Results can depend on the page; this workflow has not been tested on every site.
- The screenshot contains private information: Review it before sharing and crop or redact sensitive details yourself. The documented Firefox workflows do not claim to redact information automatically.
What about Chrome?
Chrome’s Device Mode documentation describes simulating mobile devices and viewports, and cautions that this is only a first-order approximation of a mobile experience. It does not establish a full-page screenshot procedure, so these instructions do not give an unverified Chrome capture sequence. See Chrome DevTools Device Mode for viewport simulation information.
A browser extension is another possible software route: the Chrome Web Store listing for GoFullPage advertises full-page capture. Its listing alone does not establish capture quality or privacy behavior.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API: send a GET request with a URL to return a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. Its capture flow accepts cookie or consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before taking the shot; each cleanup step can be turned off.
