Set fullPage: true in Playwright’s screenshot call to capture the full scrollable page rather than only the visible viewport. For a long Hindi page, also choose the viewport before navigating, wait for content that loads on scroll, and inspect the saved image for missing or substituted glyphs.
Capture the full page with Playwright JavaScript
Install Playwright and its browser binaries in your project, then use this runnable Node.js example. Replace the example URL with the page you want to capture.

With Playwright’s synchronous Python API, the option is named full_page:

If the screenshot needs a particular responsive layout, set the viewport before navigation. Many sites do not expect their viewport to change after the page has loaded. When screen dimensions matter as well as viewport dimensions, use the browser context’s viewport and screen settings; resizing affects screen size. The Playwright screenshot guide documents these considerations.

A narrow viewport may trigger a mobile design; a wider one may show desktop navigation and different line wrapping. Set it before goto() so the page lays out at the intended size.

Check Hindi text and choose an image scale
Playwright captures what the browser rendered. After saving the screenshot, inspect the Hindi text for missing-glyph boxes, blank characters, or unexpected font fallback. This is a practical check rather than a Hindi-specific Playwright option: the documentation discusses rendering variation by environment but does not provide a Hindi font checklist.

scale: 'css': one output pixel per CSS pixel, generally producing a more compact image.scale: 'device': device-pixel output, which can make a high-DPI image substantially larger.
Use CSS scale when manageable file size matters more than extra pixel detail. Choose device scale when additional detail is important and the larger output is acceptable. See the screenshot API reference.
Make sure long-page content has loaded
fullPage: true controls the capture extent; it does not guarantee that every item in a web app has loaded. Some sites fetch text or images only when a visitor scrolls near them. If content is missing, reproduce the site’s scroll-triggered loading behavior and wait for the desired content to appear before taking the screenshot. This is practical guidance based on the distinction between page extent and page readiness, not a guarantee made by the screenshot option.

For a single section, capture an element or locator instead of producing an extremely tall image. Playwright documents element screenshots separately in its screenshot guide.
Keep repeat captures comparable
For visual comparisons, keep the browser and host environment stable. Playwright notes that rendering can vary with the host operating system, browser version, settings, hardware, power source, and headless mode. Differences in these conditions can affect a comparison even when the page and screenshot code are unchanged. See Playwright’s visual comparisons guidance.

Troubleshooting
- The image shows only the visible screen: confirm the screenshot call includes
fullPage: truein JavaScript orfull_page=Truein Python. - Lower-page content or images are absent: the site may load them on scroll. Scroll through the relevant area and wait for the content or images to appear before capture.
- Hindi characters appear as boxes or look wrong: inspect the rendered page and saved image for glyph coverage or font fallback. The documented screenshot options do not provide a Hindi-specific font fix.
- The image is unexpectedly large: use
scale: 'css'instead of device scale, or capture only the relevant element. - The page has the wrong mobile or desktop layout: configure the browser context viewport before navigation rather than resizing after load.
- Repeated captures differ: standardize the browser, host, settings, and headless mode; Playwright documents these as possible sources of rendering variation.
