To capture an entire webpage in Microsoft Edge, open the page and press Ctrl+Shift+S. In the Screenshot (formerly Web capture) overlay, choose Capture full page, wait for the page to render, then copy or save the result.
The Edge full-page screenshot shortcut
The keyboard shortcut is Ctrl+Shift+S. It opens Edge’s Screenshot overlay, which was previously labeled Web capture. Select Capture full page rather than Capture area. Full page captures content below the visible viewport in one image, so you do not need to scroll and take several separate shots.
The command applies to supported Edge configurations. Browser version, device, market, and enterprise policy settings can affect whether Screenshot is available.
Step-by-step: capture the whole webpage
- Open the page. Navigate to the webpage you want to save in Microsoft Edge and allow its visible content to load.
- Open Screenshot. Press Ctrl+Shift+S while the webpage is the active Edge tab.
- Choose the full-page command. In the overlay, select Capture full page. Do not choose Capture area, which is intended for a selected region.
- Wait for the capture. Edge builds an image that includes material below the current viewport. Long pages may take a moment to appear in the overlay.
- Review and annotate, if needed. Check the image for the sections you expected. Edge’s capture overlay provides drawing and markup tools.
- Copy or save it. Use the overlay’s copy command to place the image on the clipboard, or save it to a file for later use.
What “full page” captures
A full-page capture is different from a normal screen grab: it includes content that is not currently visible on screen, including material farther down the webpage. The output is a single webpage image rather than a series of viewport-sized images.

Review the result before sharing it. Markup is useful for circling a paragraph, adding an arrow, or obscuring information. If the page changed while it was being captured, close the result and run the command again after the page has settled.
Other ways to open Screenshot
Right-click menu
Right-click on the webpage and choose Screenshot. This opens the same capture experience without using the keyboard shortcut.
Settings and more menu
Select Edge’s Settings and more (…) menu, then choose Screenshot (or Web capture in an interface that has not adopted the newer name). Select Capture full page in the overlay.
These menu routes are useful when a keyboard layout makes the shortcut inconvenient or when you want to confirm that the feature is present in the current browser profile.

If Ctrl+Shift+S does not work
Confirm that Edge has focus
Click the webpage inside the Edge window and press the shortcut again. The command belongs to Edge, so pressing it while another application has focus will not open Screenshot.
Use a menu fallback
Try the webpage’s right-click menu or Settings and more (…) > Screenshot. If either entry is present, use it and select Capture full page.
Check enterprise policy
On managed devices, the WebCaptureEnabled policy controls whether Screenshot appears. Microsoft’s policy documentation says the option appears in the context menu, the Settings and more menu, and with Ctrl+Shift+S when the policy is enabled or not configured. If all three entry points are missing on a work or school computer, ask the administrator whether the policy is disabled. The policy documentation was updated May 22, 2026, so administrators should verify the setting against the current Edge policy reference.
Check the command you actually need
Opening Screenshot is only the first step. The required capture mode is Capture full page. Choosing Capture area produces a selection rather than the complete document.

Developer fallback: Edge DevTools full-size capture
Developers can use Edge DevTools when the ordinary Screenshot interface is unavailable or when a DevTools workflow is preferable.
- Open DevTools for the page.
- Select the DevTools More options (…) menu.
- Choose Capture a full size screenshot.
This DevTools command is designed to include content that is not currently visible in the viewport. It is a developer-oriented route, while Screenshot is the simpler choice for ordinary page captures and includes built-in markup tools.

Practical checks before saving
- Make sure the address bar shows the page you intend to capture, not a different tab or frame.
- Wait for important page content to finish loading before pressing the shortcut.
- After the image appears, inspect the bottom and other sections that were below the fold.
- Use markup only after confirming that the capture contains the complete page.
- Save a copy when the image is needed outside Edge; use Copy when you are pasting it directly into another application.
Edge’s native capture tools do not require a browser extension or separate screenshot utility for this workflow. If your organization hides the feature through policy, the administrator-controlled setting must be resolved or you can use an approved alternative.
