Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteChrome Headless can capture a screenshot, and Puppeteer can capture a full-page image—but neither documented screenshot option automatically scrolls an infinite-scroll page to load more content. First trigger the page’s scroll-driven loading, wait until the content you want is present, then capture it.
Why an infinite-scroll screenshot can be incomplete
Many feeds load additional items only after a scroll event or when a particular element enters view. A screenshot command captures the page state; it does not, by itself, make that page-specific behavior happen. Waiting longer may help with content that loads after a delay, but it is not a substitute for scrolling when scrolling is the trigger.

Keep the workflow in two stages: cause the desired content to render, then capture the resulting page or viewport. A full-page screenshot controls the extent of the image, not whether the page has already loaded every item.

Chrome Headless command line
For a simple capture, Chrome’s --screenshot option saves an image. The documented example combines it with --window-size to set the browser dimensions. Without --timeout or --virtual-time-budget, the documented behavior is to capture as soon as the page is loaded. These timing flags affect capture timing or time-dependent execution; they are not documented as scrolling the page. See the Chrome Headless command-line reference.

- Works with a variety of software and applications on Mac, PC and Chromebook that allows you to use it in different ways. System Requirements - Mac Intel Core i5 CPU 2.5 GHz or higher, OS X 10.10 or higher, Solid-state drive, and 200MB of free hard disk space, 256MB of dedicated video memory (For lag-free live streaming up to 1920 x 1080, and video recording of 1920 x 1080). Windows Recommended Requirements - Microsoft Windows 10,Intel Core i5 CPU 3.40 GHz or higher, 4 GB RAM, 200MB of free hard disk space, 256MB of dedicated video memory (For lag-free live streaming up to 1920 x 1080, and video recording of 1920 x 1080)
chrome --headless --window-size=1440,1000 --screenshot=page.png https://example.com
This captures a page state at the configured dimensions. It is not a general-purpose infinite-scroll loader, and the CLI example does not demonstrate a scroll loop. If the feed needs scrolling before capture, use browser automation that can perform that interaction.
Puppeteer full-page capture
Puppeteer exposes fullPage: true in its screenshot options to capture the full page; the documented default is false. Its guide demonstrates Page.screenshot() and navigation with waitUntil: 'networkidle2', but that example is not a guarantee that every infinite feed has finished loading. Check the documentation matching your installed Puppeteer version: ScreenshotOptions and Screenshots guide.

Scroll, wait, and stop with Puppeteer
The following is a bounded starting point, not a universal recipe. It scrolls repeatedly, waits briefly for page activity, and stops when the document height does not increase for several attempts. Adjust the wait and stopping signal to the target site: some pages append content asynchronously, use a sentinel element, or virtualize older items rather than retaining the whole feed in the document.
const puppeteer = require('puppeteer');
(async () => {
const browser = await puppeteer.launch({ headless: true });
const page = await browser.newPage();
await page.setViewport({ width: 1440, height: 1000 });
try {
await page.goto('https://example.com/feed', {
waitUntil: 'domcontentloaded',
timeout: 60000,
});
// Replace this with a target-specific readiness check if available.
await page.waitForSelector('body');
let unchangedPasses = 0;
let previousHeight = 0;
const maxPasses = 30;
for (let pass = 0; pass < maxPasses; pass++) {
const height = await page.evaluate(() => {
window.scrollTo(0, document.body.scrollHeight);
return document.body.scrollHeight;
});
await new Promise(resolve => setTimeout(resolve, 1000));
const newHeight = await page.evaluate(() => document.body.scrollHeight);
if (newHeight <= height || newHeight <= previousHeight) {
unchangedPasses++;
} else {
unchangedPasses = 0;
}
previousHeight = newHeight;
if (unchangedPasses >= 3) break;
}
await page.screenshot({ path: 'feed.png', fullPage: true });
} finally {
await browser.close();
}
})();
Install Puppeteer in your project using the method appropriate to your setup, then run the script with Node.js. The loop bounds the number of scroll attempts, but its height-based stopping test is only a heuristic: a feed may load items without changing the measured document height, or may add content after longer than the chosen wait. For stronger completion detection, wait for a site-specific item count, a known terminal marker, or another signal exposed by the page.

Set a stopping rule before capturing
An infinite feed may have no natural end. Decide in advance how much content the image should include and cap the job by attempts, elapsed time, target item count, or output height. Without a limit, a page that keeps appending content can make a capture job slow or produce an impractically tall image.
- Known number of items: stop once the target count is rendered.
- End-of-feed marker: stop when the site’s terminal element appears.
- No-new-content heuristic: stop after a bounded number of scroll attempts without a new item or document-height increase.
- Virtualized list: capture may show only currently rendered items even after scrolling; a full-page option does not establish that off-screen items remain in the DOM.
The appropriate selector, scroll interval, and completion test depend on the page. Validate the final rendered state rather than treating a fixed delay or a full-page flag as proof that every item loaded.

Troubleshoot missing or incomplete content
- Only the first screen appears: the capture ran before scroll-triggered loading. Add an explicit scroll interaction and wait for newly loaded content before taking the screenshot.
- A longer timeout changes nothing: timing flags do not trigger scroll events. Confirm the site’s loading trigger and automate it.
- The screenshot is full height but items are missing: full-page capture expands the screenshot extent; it does not prove that unloaded content exists in the rendered page.
- The loop stops too soon: document height may stay constant while items load, or the site may need more than the chosen wait. Prefer a target-specific selector or item-count condition.
- The capture runs indefinitely or becomes too large: lower the attempt or time limit and set a target item count or maximum output appropriate to the task.
- You need to inspect what Chrome rendered: Chrome’s Headless announcement documents remote debugging with
--remote-debugging-port; use the debugging workflow appropriate to your installed Chrome version.

Version note
Chrome’s 2023 announcement said the newer Headless mode first became available in Chrome 112 and was then enabled explicitly with --headless=new. That is a historical rollout detail, not a statement about current defaults. Check documentation for the Chrome version installed in your environment before relying on a particular mode or flag: Chrome’s Headless mode gets an upgrade.
