To subscribe, open the Apple TV app, choose Apple TV+, review the offer and renewal terms shown for your account, then follow the onscreen steps. A free trial is not guaranteed: eligibility, offers and availability vary. To avoid renewal, Apple says to cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Cancel through the company that bills you.
How to subscribe to Apple TV+
On iPhone, Apple’s current instructions are to open the Apple TV app, tap Apple TV+, select the subscription button, review any free-trial offer and the subscription details, and follow the onscreen instructions. The offer shown at signup is the one to rely on: Apple does not establish one trial length or post-trial price that applies to every account and region. Apple TV and related services are not available everywhere.

When to cancel so the trial does not renew
Apple Support’s instruction is: “If you signed up for a trial subscription and you don’t want to renew it, cancel it at least 24 hours before the trial ends.” See Apple’s subscription cancellation guidance. Use the trial end date displayed for your subscription and leave more than the minimum time if possible.

Cancel an Apple-billed subscription on iPhone
- Open Settings.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select Apple TV+.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm if prompted.
If you do not see Cancel Subscription, or an expiration message appears, Apple says the subscription is already cancelled.
Other ways to manage an Apple-billed subscription
You can also cancel through Apple’s web flow. On a Mac or Windows PC, Apple documents managing subscriptions in the App Store or in the Apple TV or Apple Music apps, depending on your setup. Follow Apple’s device and web cancellation instructions for the route that matches your device.

If Apple TV+ is missing from Subscriptions
The subscription may be attached to a different account or billed by someone other than Apple. Check the email address used for Apple receipts, search email for an Apple receipt or invoice, and confirm which Apple Account was charged. If there is no Apple receipt, check your card or bank statement for the billing provider.
- If a family member is the account holder, that person must cancel the subscription from their account.
- If a carrier or another provider bills you, cancel through that provider rather than Apple’s subscription settings.
- If the subscription was billed by Google Play, use Google Play’s cancellation controls.
Cancel an Apple TV subscription billed through Google Play
For an Apple TV subscription started and billed through Google Play on Android, open the Apple TV app and go to Manage Subscriptions. Apple says this flow opens the Google Play controls for managing or cancelling the subscription. Apple’s instructions are in its guide to Apple TV on Android.

Offers and regional terms
Free-trial eligibility and service availability depend on the account and region. Some jurisdictions may also have different cancellation requirements; Apple’s US cancellation guidance identifies special circumstances for Germany, Israel, South Africa and Türkiye. Review the offer and the applicable cancellation instructions for your location rather than assuming the same terms apply everywhere.
