To stream recorded English-speaking classes continuously on YouTube in India, create a YouTube Live broadcast, then send a lesson video or playlist to it through an encoder. You can run an encoder such as OBS on a computer, or use a cloud service so your own computer does not need to stay on. Before launch, enable livestreaming, prepare the broadcast and stream key, and check that your recordings are cleared for live transmission.
What you need for a 24/7 recorded-class stream
YouTube Live accepts encoder-based broadcasts. An encoder sends video to YouTube using the stream URL and stream key; YouTube describes an encoder as software or hardware that converts video into a digital format for streaming. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains the connection. For a prerecorded stream, prepare the lesson files and arrange them as a playlist or loop in the encoder or service you choose.

- A YouTube channel with livestreaming enabled.
- One or more recorded lessons, with their audio and any included materials checked for rights.
- An encoder: either software running on a local computer or a cloud service.
- A stable network path for a local encoder, or a working cloud service connection.
- The YouTube stream URL and stream key, handled as credentials.
Set up the YouTube broadcast
- Check livestream eligibility. Open YouTube Studio and check the channel’s Live Control Room and current livestream restrictions. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it in advance rather than waiting until the scheduled start. Requirements and restrictions can change; consult YouTube’s current livestreaming restrictions page.
- Create or schedule the live broadcast. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create a stream. Scheduling gives you a shareable destination and lets viewers plan to watch. Enter a title and description that accurately explain that the broadcast contains recorded English lessons.
- Choose the encoder and connect it. YouTube’s encoder directory lists OBS as free, open-source software and identifies Gyre as a cloud tool for 24/7 prerecorded video. Open the encoder’s YouTube connection settings and enter the stream URL and key shown for the broadcast. Keep the key private; if it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio before using the stream again.
- Load and check the lesson playlist. Confirm the intended order, looping behavior and audio. Check YouTube’s incoming preview to make sure the right lesson is arriving and that sound is present before starting the broadcast.
- Start the encoder, then verify the live status. Follow the encoder’s and Live Control Room’s start flow. Check the channel’s public watch page and return to the control room to monitor the incoming feed and stream status.

Choose between a local encoder and a cloud service

Plan for archives and continuity
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A single 24-hour broadcast falls outside that stated automatic-archive scope, so do not rely on one continuous day-long stream to produce a complete replay. If a full archive matters, keep the original lesson files and consider separate, shorter broadcasts. YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance covers the archive limits.
A 24/7 stream also depends on the encoder remaining active and connected. A local computer can stop sending if it sleeps, loses power, closes the encoder or loses internet access. A cloud service avoids that local-computer dependency, but YouTube does not promise uninterrupted service; monitor the channel and have a recovery plan.

Check rights, audience settings and monetization separately
Audit everything inside each lesson
Check more than the teacher’s voice and slides. Review background music, diagrams, textbook excerpts, screen-shared software, guest appearances and identifiable student contributions. Obtain the rights and permissions needed for the planned live transmission and any archive. India’s Copyright Act defines “broadcast” to include rebroadcast and defines “communication to the public” broadly; that is a reason to assess the rights for your specific materials and use, not a conclusion that every teaching use infringes copyright. See the Copyright Act, 1957.
Understand YouTube’s live copyright checks
YouTube warns: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” A match can replace the stream image, interrupt the broadcast or terminate it. If you have a licence for third-party material, YouTube says the rights owner may still need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist for the live stream to avoid interruption. Consider child-directed lessons
If a stream or channel is marked “made for kids,” YouTube disables features including live chat and reminder notifications, and personalized ads are disabled on live streams and Premieres, though contextual ads may still appear. This may matter for classes intended for children. Check YouTube’s current requirements, including rules that may apply when a minor appears in a recording, in its livestreaming restrictions guidance.
Do not assume looping qualifies a channel for monetization
Being allowed to livestream and being eligible for monetization are separate matters. YouTube reviews a channel against its monetization policies, which include rules concerning reused and repetitive or mass-produced content. A continuous loop does not guarantee approval. Review YouTube’s channel monetization policies for your channel and content.

Troubleshoot common problems
