To stream a prerecorded commercial property tour on YouTube Live, send the video to YouTube through an encoder such as OBS or a cloud playout service. YouTube Studio supplies the stream URL and key; the encoder plays and loops your footage. An uploaded YouTube video or playlist does not become a live broadcast on its own.
For a local OBS setup, your computer, video files, and internet connection must stay available throughout the stream. For continuous playback without a computer running at home or in the office, use cloud playout. Before broadcasting, confirm channel access and rights, test the stream, and decide how you will handle the archive: YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, but does not promise a complete archive for a longer stream.

How do I stream a prerecorded video on YouTube Live?
You need a YouTube channel enabled for livestreaming, an encoder or cloud playout service, and a video you have permission to broadcast. The encoder sends a live video feed to YouTube; it is not the same as uploading a video or creating a playlist on YouTube.

- In YouTube Studio, confirm that the channel can livestream. YouTube says first-time livestream enablement can take up to 24 hours, so do this well before your planned launch.
- Use footage and audio you are entitled to broadcast. For a commercial property tour, check authorization from the property owner or client and permissions relevant to identifiable occupants, staff, signage, and other recorded material. The applicable India-specific legal requirements depend on the circumstances and are not established here.
- Keep records of permissions for the footage, music, and any other material included in the stream. YouTube’s livestream terms make the content provider responsible for the necessary rights and applicable-law compliance. YouTube Terms of Service
2. Create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and create or schedule a live stream using an encoder. Follow the current Studio prompts to set the stream details and visibility.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from the live-stream setup and enter them in your encoder. Treat the key as a password: anyone with it may be able to send a feed to your channel. Do not publish it or include it in screenshots.
- Start the encoder and check the preview in Live Control Room before making the event public. YouTube recommends setting up in advance, checking the preview, confirming that the event appears where expected, and monitoring sound and picture. 3. Set up the video and test playback
Choose a single-tour file or a playlist of tours. Check that the opening and ending are suitable for repetition: a long black frame, abrupt audio cut, or outdated availability notice can become conspicuous each time the loop restarts. Include clear property identification and a current way for interested viewers to ask for details.

For ingest compatibility, YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance identifies H.264 video and AAC audio as required formats when an encoder reports an incorrect format. How do I loop a video on YouTube Live?
Set the loop in the encoder or playout service. YouTube receives the continuing feed; it does not loop an uploaded video on its own.
Loop one tour in OBS
- In OBS, add a Media Source and select the local tour video file.
- In that source’s properties, enable Loop. OBS describes this setting as specifying whether the file plays again after playback completes. OBS Media Sources
- Arrange and size the source in the scene, then preview the start, end, and restart. Confirm that the audio level and picture remain acceptable across the loop.
Loop a playlist in OBS
- Install VLC if it is not already installed; OBS’s VLC Video Source depends on VLC and may not appear without it.
- Add a VLC Video Source, load the tour files as a playlist, and enable Loop Playlist.
- Preview transitions between clips and check that titles, audio, and property information are accurate for every tour in the playlist.
Keep the source files accessible to OBS for the full broadcast. If a file is moved, renamed, disconnected, or unreadable, playback can fail.

Can I run a 24/7 YouTube livestream from OBS?
Yes, OBS can loop a local file or playlist while sending the encoder feed to YouTube, but the local setup depends on the computer and network continuously operating. A sleep setting, restart, power outage, software crash, lost file, or network interruption can stop or degrade the feed. YouTube also warns that network disruptions can break a stream.
YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload-bandwidth headroom. Treat this as a margin recommendation, not a guarantee: test the actual upload connection at the streaming location and plan who will monitor the feed and respond to faults. Which way should I keep a property-tour stream running?
Pick based on whether you have someone to maintain a local setup, how much monitoring you can provide, whether you need a playlist, and how important a complete replay is. No approach guarantees uninterrupted service.

If the replay matters, schedule shorter sessions or separately record and upload the source tour footage. Decide the session length before going live, and check the resulting archive rather than assuming a day-long feed will be saved in full.
Copyright, permissions, and monetization
Copyright checks can interrupt a live feed
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A stream may be interrupted or terminated if a match is detected. Having a license may not be sufficient on its own: the rights holder may need to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist. A loop is not a monetization guarantee
YouTube’s monetization policies apply to livestreams and expect original, authentic content. Repetitive, mass-produced, generic, or manipulative material can create eligibility problems. A legitimate commercial property tour may serve a promotional purpose, but repeating the same footage is not a promise of monetization, ad delivery, audience response, or earnings. Troubleshooting a continuous property-tour stream
- Livestreaming is not enabled: Check channel access in YouTube Studio and enable it in advance; first-time enablement may take up to 24 hours.
- No video appears in the preview: Confirm that the correct source is selected, the file is still available at its saved location, and OBS can read it. For a VLC Video Source, confirm VLC is installed.
- The clip plays once and stops: Open the Media Source properties and enable Loop, or enable Loop Playlist for a VLC playlist.
- The encoder reports an incorrect format: Check the video and audio ingest formats; YouTube’s guidance specifies H.264 video and AAC audio.
- The stream health is unstable: Check Live Control Room health messages, test upload bandwidth at the streaming location, preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom, and inspect local network and power stability.
- The live feed is interrupted for a copyright match: Review the matched material, confirm the rights cover livestream use, and ask the rights holder about adding the channel to its Content ID allowlist.
- The stream stopped after an outage or restart: For local OBS, restore the computer, connection, files, and encoder, then verify the stream in Live Control Room. For cloud playout, check the provider’s recovery status and current service terms rather than assuming automatic recovery succeeded.
- The archive is incomplete or absent after a long session: YouTube’s automatic archive statement covers streams under 12 hours, not a guaranteed complete replay of a longer session. Use shorter streams or separately record the source material when a complete replay matters.
