You can schedule an existing lesson recording to play as a YouTube live stream in India using OneStream Live: connect your YouTube channel, upload or select the lesson, choose YouTube, enter the event details, and set the start time. It is a broadcast of recorded video, not a live class—the recording itself cannot answer students’ questions.
What you need before scheduling a lesson
- A OneStream Live account and the lesson video file, or access to the location where it is stored.
- A YouTube channel that is eligible to live stream. YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. For a first stream, activation can take up to 24 hours, so check eligibility well before class. YouTube’s computer live-streaming guidance explains the general setup.
- A reliable connection for uploading the recording and checking the event. You do not need to keep a live camera or encoder running during the scheduled broadcast.
- Permission to use all material in the lesson, including music, images, and third-party video clips.
The described cloud scheduling workflow is not documented as having a special India-only rule. If you are teaching from India, state the event time with the time zone—such as IST—in your announcement so students know when to join.

Schedule a pre-recorded lesson with OneStream Live
- Connect the YouTube channel. In OneStream Live, open Social Platforms, choose YouTube, and complete the account authorization. Confirm that the intended channel appears as connected. OneStream’s YouTube connection guide describes this step.
- Add the recording. Start a pre-recorded stream and upload the lesson from your device, select it from OneStream storage, or choose an available cloud-storage source. Keep the original video file as a backup.
- Choose the lesson and destination. Select the uploaded video, continue to destinations, and choose the connected YouTube channel.
- Enter the event details. Add a clear title and description that identify the lesson and tell learners whether it is a scheduled viewing or a replay. Review the audience setting, including whether the video is made for kids; choose the classification that accurately describes the content and intended audience.
- Choose when it plays. Select an immediate start or a scheduled date and time, then schedule the broadcast. OneStream advertises pre-recorded scheduling up to 60 days ahead; its current plan page should be checked for the plan required, because scheduling options can depend on the plan. See OneStream’s pre-recorded streaming page and its advanced scheduling guide.
- Share and check the event. Send students the event link and the time zone. Before class, check the YouTube event page, visibility, playback, audio, and any chat or moderation arrangements you intend to use. OneStream’s feature and interface details are vendor-described and may change.
Set expectations for students
Recorded playback can make a lesson available to a cohort at a planned time, but it does not make the teacher present or able to respond in real time. If chat is open, arrange a moderator when appropriate and tell learners where to ask follow-up questions. For a course sequence, decide whether to schedule separate class events or organize lessons as a playlist: a playlist broadcast is not necessarily the same experience as separately promoted class meetings.
OneStream documents YouTube DVR controls that can let viewers pause and rewind during the stream. Its scheduling options also list monetization controls where supported by the channel; that does not establish that a channel qualifies for monetization or will earn revenue.

Check YouTube eligibility and choose the right streaming path
Do not confuse YouTube’s mobile eligibility rules with the cloud scheduling workflow above. YouTube’s 50-subscriber threshold applies to its mobile live-stream path, not as a universal requirement for a scheduled OneStream broadcast. For channels under 1,000 subscribers, YouTube says mobile streams may have viewer limits and their archives may default to private. If you plan to stream from a phone instead, review YouTube’s mobile live-stream requirements. The source does not establish that those mobile rules are specific to India.
For a lesson that must be delivered interactively, use a genuinely live teaching setup or provide a separate way for students to ask questions. OneStream’s scheduled pre-recorded workflow is for playing an existing recording at a chosen time.

Plan the replay and archive
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. The duration guidance is on YouTube’s archive live streams page. An archive is not guaranteed to stay public: visibility settings and channel circumstances also matter.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Check OneStream’s advanced scheduling settings for any option to delete the post after the stream ends; leave deletion disabled if you want the event available afterward.
- Preserve the source lesson file rather than relying on the YouTube archive as the only copy.
- After the broadcast, check whether the archive exists and confirm its visibility before sharing it as the replay.
Review rights and audience settings
YouTube’s livestream terms require the provider to have the necessary rights for worldwide use of live content, including applicable music rights, and to comply with the Community Guidelines and applicable laws. Check permissions for music, images, clips, and other third-party material before scheduling. The terms also address territory licensing, registration, and similar obligations; consult the applicable rules for your circumstances rather than treating this as legal advice. See YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions.

Set the made-for-kids audience classification accurately. That setting affects which YouTube features are available, including chat and ads; it is not a switch to enable interaction or monetization. YouTube’s streaming tips recommend testing a setup and leaving bandwidth headroom. The guidance says to leave 20% above the stream bitrate for available upload bandwidth; this is general advice for streaming, not a tested requirement for OneStream’s cloud upload workflow.
Common problems and what to check
- YouTube channel is not available to connect or stream: confirm you authorized the intended account and channel, verify the channel, check for live-stream restrictions in the prior 90 days, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time live-stream activation.
- The event is scheduled for the wrong time: recheck the date, time, and time zone in the event details and in the message sent to learners.
- Students cannot see the event: check the YouTube event’s visibility and confirm you shared the correct event link.
- Students cannot chat or use expected features: review the audience setting and available YouTube controls; features vary with the selected classification and channel eligibility.
- The replay is missing: check the stream duration against YouTube’s archive guidance, the event visibility, and whether a post-stream deletion option was enabled. Verify the original file is intact.
- Audio or video does not play as expected: check the source file and event playback before class, and retain the original recording in case you need to schedule it again.
- Third-party material raises a rights concern: pause publication until you have confirmed the permissions needed for the intended use and territories.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a separate use case—keeping a YouTube channel live 24/7 with uploaded videos rather than scheduling a single lesson—StreamNeo is a cloud option. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; StreamNeo plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I schedule a recorded class on YouTube from India?
Yes. The described OneStream cloud workflow is to connect a YouTube channel, select a recording, enter event details, and schedule it. The sources do not establish a distinct India-specific restriction for this workflow.
Do I need 1,000 subscribers to schedule a OneStream lesson stream?
The 50-subscriber threshold described by YouTube is for mobile live streaming, not a universal requirement for scheduled OneStream cloud streams. YouTube’s general live-stream eligibility requirements still apply.
Can students ask questions during a pre-recorded lesson?
The recording itself cannot respond. Students may use chat if it is available and enabled, but a teacher or moderator must handle questions separately.
