You can run a continuous YouTube Live program by arranging your original songs and cartoon episodes into a playlist, then sending it to YouTube with a computer-based encoder or a cloud streaming service. Before going live, confirm that you control the rights to every element, classify the program accurately as Made for Kids if it is directed at children, and plan for monitoring and recovery: YouTube does not guarantee uninterrupted broadcasts or a complete archive of a 24/7 stream.
Plan the playlist as a program, not just a loop
Build a sequence that alternates songs and cartoon episodes in a cadence suited to your audience. You might group several songs before an episode, or place a short transition between them. There is no YouTube-mandated playlist cadence; choose one that makes the channel feel intentional and easy to follow.

Use transitions or interstitials only when they add real programming value. YouTube’s monetization policies scrutinize repetitive content with minimal variation or value, so merely replaying the same library does not guarantee eligibility. Make authorship and the purpose of the programming clear, and review the YouTube channel monetization policies before building a schedule around expected revenue.

Clear the rights to every part of the broadcast
“Original” needs to apply to the rights you actually control. Check each composition, sound recording, animation, character, voice, image, and other included material. If a collaborator, performer, studio, or third party contributed anything, confirm that your permission covers continuous live streaming and any archived or separately published versions you plan to make.

- Keep agreements and other documentation for the music, recordings, visuals, characters, and contributions in the program.
- If a rights holder has licensed material to you, ask whether the channel needs to be allowlisted to avoid Content ID interruptions.
- Do not assume that a license alone prevents a live interruption: YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party matches, and a stream may be interrupted or terminated. See Copyright issues with live streams.
Set the audience accurately
A channel centered on children’s songs and cartoons is likely directed to children. Set the audience honestly in YouTube Studio rather than relying on automated detection. YouTube explains how to set a channel or video’s audience.
When content is designated Made for Kids, YouTube disables personalized ads and features including live chat and Super Chat, among other restrictions. That affects both how viewers can interact during the broadcast and what advertising options are available. The designation should reflect the content, not a preferred monetization outcome.

Choose a workflow for continuous playback
YouTube Live accepts a feed from an encoder. The choice is mainly about how you want to run and recover the program—not a guarantee of uptime. A local software encoder uses a computer and its network connection; a hardware encoder is a dedicated device; a cloud service can play uploaded or scheduled media without requiring your own computer to remain on. Compare the options against these practical needs:
- Can it loop or schedule prerecorded songs and episodes continuously?
- What monitoring and recovery options are available if the encoder, network, or YouTube connection stops?
- What ongoing cost and technical effort does it require?
- Does it require a computer and reliable internet connection at your location to remain available?
- Is it compatible with YouTube Live?
YouTube’s encoder setup guide describes connecting an encoder with a stream URL and key, and lists third-party encoder options. YouTube notes that listed products are not made by YouTube; the list establishes compatibility categories, not a universal recommendation or guarantee. If you are shopping for hardware, treat “live streaming encoder” as a product category and verify the specific device’s YouTube Live compatibility and prerecorded-media features before buying.

Prepare and start the YouTube Live stream
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube requires channel verification and no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time live-stream activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it before the day you intend to launch. See Get started with live streaming.
- Prepare the media and playlist. Confirm that every item plays correctly, order the songs and episodes, and test transitions. Keep your source files and a local recording plan available.
- Create or schedule the stream. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule a live stream. Set the audience accurately for the stream; for child-directed programming, this is likely Made for Kids.
- Connect the encoder. In Live Control Room, copy the stream URL and stream key into the matching fields in your encoder or cloud service. Treat the key as private: anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
- Preview before going live. Start the encoder’s output and wait for YouTube to receive the signal. Check picture, sound, playlist order, and transitions in the preview before starting the broadcast.
- Start the broadcast and monitor it. Watch the live feed and check that audio and video continue as expected. YouTube’s live streaming tips recommend preparing encoders ahead, previewing, checking local archives, verifying access from channel and watch pages and mobile, and continuously monitoring audio and video.
Make a continuity and archive plan
A 24/7 stream needs a response plan for a failed encoder, lost internet, or YouTube interruption. Decide who will notice a problem, how they will restart or replace the feed, and where the original media and stream key are safely available. Keep a local recording if you need your own copy; YouTube’s setup guidance recommends checking the local archive, but its guidance does not promise uninterrupted operation.
Do not rely on the live broadcast as the only replay. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If replay matters, record locally and publish standalone replay videos or shorter programming blocks. See Archive live streams.

Understand the limits on monetization
Eligible YouTube Partner Program channels can enable ads on live streams, but ad slots are not guaranteed to serve. Made-for-Kids settings also disable personalized ads and several engagement features. In addition, monetization review considers whether repetitive content has meaningful variation or value and whether reused material includes a meaningful original contribution. A library of original work is helpful, but a continuous loop by itself does not assure monetization. Read YouTube’s guidance on monetizing live streams alongside its monetization policies.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteTroubleshoot common problems
- You cannot start a live stream: confirm the channel is verified, check for live-stream restrictions in the last 90 days, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- YouTube receives no signal: check that the encoder is using the stream URL and key from the intended Live Control Room stream, then confirm the encoder is actually sending output.
- The broadcast is interrupted after a rights match: review the matched material and rights documentation. Contact the rights holder about channel allowlisting where applicable; a license may not automatically prevent a live-stream interruption.
- The stream is live but songs or episodes are out of order, silent, or visually wrong: inspect the playlist and source files, then preview the feed before restarting the broadcast.
- The 24-hour broadcast is missing or incomplete in the archive: a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured. Use your local recording or publish shorter replay assets instead.
- Viewers cannot use chat or personalized ads do not appear: these are among the restrictions associated with Made-for-Kids content, not necessarily a technical fault.
- Ad delivery or earnings are lower than expected: live ad slots are not guaranteed, and Made-for-Kids settings affect advertising. Do not budget on a particular level of ad delivery.
