You can run a continuous Odia devotional music channel on YouTube by preparing a rights-cleared playlist, enabling live streaming in advance, and sending a steady audio-and-video feed from an encoder to YouTube. A 24/7 schedule is an operating goal, not a guarantee: YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and can interrupt or terminate a stream when it detects a match. Build in rights checks, testing, monitoring, and a recovery plan before going live.
1. Clear the music before building the playlist
Do not assume that a devotional song is free to rebroadcast because it is traditional, widely shared, or already available on YouTube. Check rights for both the musical composition and the particular recording you plan to use. The rights can belong to different people or organizations, and permissions may differ by territory, use, and duration.

Make a rights ledger
Record this information for every track before adding it to the stream:
- Song title and composition writer or publisher.
- Recording owner, label, or other relevant rights holder.
- Territories in which the permission applies, and its term.
- Whether the license expressly covers a live YouTube broadcast.
- Whether it also covers an archived replay or video on demand (VOD)—the saved version viewers can watch later.
- Whether the rights owner has added your YouTube channel to its Content ID allowlist.
Ask a label or distributor to coordinate where applicable. YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music in a live stream. Keep written permissions and the rights owner’s confirmation of allowlisting. This is a practical checklist, not a determination of legal rights: the correct requirements depend on the works, agreements, and territories involved.

Understand YouTube’s copyright checks
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, including another live broadcast. A match may lead to a warning, a placeholder image, a temporary interruption, or termination if the content continues. YouTube says even a licensed creator’s stream may be interrupted if the music owner has not put the channel on its Content ID allowlist; holding rights in selected territories does not by itself eliminate that risk. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
Creator Music is not a shortcut for a live radio stream: YouTube’s Creator Music FAQ says it does not currently support licensing for live content. A Content ID claim on an archived live stream may be made after the stream ends, so clear the replay as well as the live use if you intend to keep it.

2. Enable live streaming and test the channel
Prepare the channel ahead of launch
YouTube for Artists advises creators to verify their account and enable live streaming at least 24 hours before the first planned broadcast. Do this well before your intended start, rather than treating channel setup as a last-minute step. Review YouTube for Artists’ guide to going live for music channels for current platform guidance.

Run an unlisted end-to-end test
- In YouTube Studio, configure or schedule a live broadcast and choose an unlisted test so you can check the complete workflow without making the test public.
- Connect your encoder to the broadcast using the stream details supplied in YouTube Studio. An encoder is software or hardware that packages your audio and video and sends them to YouTube.
- Play the intended playlist and verify that audio is present, continuous, and at a suitable level. Check that the video or visual loop also plays as intended.
- Confirm the title, description, audience settings, and other broadcast details before launch.
- Watch YouTube’s live dashboard and stream-health information while the test runs. Correct warnings or missing audio before scheduling the public stream.
YouTube for Artists recommends an unlisted test before going live. Use the test to confirm your own end-to-end setup; it does not guarantee that a later broadcast will stay online or that music rights are cleared.

3. Set up the continuous feed
Choose an encoder workflow
For a customizable, computer-based setup, use an encoder to send a stable audio-and-video feed to YouTube. A streaming PC running an encoder is one option, not a platform requirement; a dedicated hardware encoder may also suit some workflows. Match the computer or encoder to the software’s documented requirements and the format you intend to send. The available guidance does not establish a required PC specification or a particular model.
YouTube’s Live Streaming API documentation describes a broadcast—the event viewers watch—and a stream—the incoming audio-video feed—as related but distinct resources. It documents RTMP, including RTMPS, as well as DASH and HLS ingestion protocol values, and explains that YouTube provides an ingestion address and stream name. Most creators can configure an encoder through YouTube Studio without building an API integration. See the YouTube Live Streaming API overview and the LiveStreams reference.

Keep the playlist and feed ready
Prepare the files and playback sequence before starting the encoder. Check that the selected playlist loops as intended and that the video remains active along with the audio. For a 24/7 schedule, plan who or what will detect a stopped playlist, lost audio, encoder failure, or a broken network connection; a working feed at launch is not a recovery plan.

4. Monitor the stream and plan for recovery
After launch, keep an eye on YouTube’s live dashboard and stream-health status. The official LiveStreams documentation identifies health issues such as low video bitrate, frame-rate mismatch, and missing audio. Treat a warning as a fault to investigate rather than assuming viewers are receiving a healthy feed.

- Low video bitrate or frame-rate mismatch: Check the encoder’s output against the broadcast configuration and the stream-health warning.
- Encoder, power, or network failure: Restore the computer or encoder, playback, power, or connection as appropriate, then check that YouTube receives the feed again.
- Copyright warning or interruption: Follow YouTube’s notice, stop or replace disputed material where needed, and verify permissions and allowlisting with the rights owner before resuming it.
YouTube documents stream setup and health checks, but does not guarantee uninterrupted 24/7 uptime. A person or reliable operations plan needs to respond when the feed or broadcast fails. A UPS may help with some power interruptions, but its useful runtime depends on the complete equipment and network load; do not assume it will keep the channel live for a particular period without checking that setup.
5. Decide whether to keep an archive
If you want viewers to replay the broadcast, decide in advance whether the live stream will be archived. Confirm that your permissions cover the saved video, not just the broadcast, and keep the relevant terms in the rights ledger. YouTube says Content ID claims on archived live streams are made after the stream ends when the creator chooses to archive it. An archive therefore needs its own rights check even when the live broadcast completed.
6. Choose how to keep the channel running
A computer-and-encoder setup gives you control over the feed, but depends on the equipment, playback, power, and internet connection staying available—and on someone being able to respond to faults. You can manage that infrastructure yourself or use a cloud service to loop uploaded videos for a YouTube live stream.

What the audience statistic does—and does not—tell you
YouTube for Artists reported that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is a platform-wide figure for that measurement period; it is not a forecast for an Odia devotional channel or evidence of demand in a particular country.
