To play multiple prerecorded videos continuously as a YouTube Live broadcast, create a live stream in YouTube Studio, then send it a video feed from an encoder or a cloud service that can rotate through your files. YouTube supplies the stream URL and key; your chosen tool handles playback and continuity. For a local setup, keep the computer, encoder, files, and internet connection running. For a hosted option, StreamNeo is #1 for this use case: it loops uploaded videos from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day.
Before you start: make sure your channel can go live
Your YouTube channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. If this is the first time you enable live streaming, YouTube says activation may take up to 24 hours, so complete that step before scheduling your broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
Choose how to keep the videos playing
Local encoder on a computer
A local software or hardware encoder sends a live feed from your own equipment. To play several files in sequence, the encoder or accompanying playback software must explicitly support playlists or continuous file rotation; not every encoder does. The computer, playback process, and network connection must remain active, and someone should be able to check the stream and respond if playback or transmission stops.
Cloud service
A cloud service can play uploaded prerecorded videos and send the broadcast without requiring your home computer to stay on. YouTube’s verified encoder list includes Gyre as a cloud-based option for 24/7 prerecorded streams without a dedicated PC or camera. YouTube notes that listed products are not made by YouTube; the listing is not an endorsement. Check any provider’s playlist, recovery, output-quality, and billing details before choosing it.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Set up the YouTube Live stream
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create a new stream or select an existing setup. Choose whether the broadcast will be public, private, or unlisted in the stream settings. You can review YouTube’s available controls in Manage live stream settings.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key. Enter them in the encoder’s matching server/URL and key fields, or in the corresponding fields in your cloud service. Treat the key like a password: do not share it or expose it in screenshots or public documents. Reset it in YouTube Studio if you think it has been compromised. YouTube explains the encoder connection in its encoder setup guide.
- Choose a compatible output. Set the resolution and frame rate in the encoder or service to match the video feed it will send. Select a bitrate that fits that output and your available upload connection. YouTube recommends RTMPS; use the current codec-, resolution-, and frame-rate-specific values in YouTube’s encoder settings table rather than assuming one bitrate works for every stream.
- Preview before going public. Start the encoder or cloud broadcast and wait for the incoming feed to appear in Live Control Room. Check that moving video and audio are present, then confirm the stream is set to the intended visibility before starting the public broadcast.
- Monitor the live feed. Check that the playlist advances and that audio, video, and stream health remain normal. YouTube’s guidance is to “Continuously monitor streams for audio and video quality.” Auto-start and auto-stop settings may help with control, but they do not guarantee uninterrupted operation.
Prepare the video playlist and rights
Arrange the files in the order you want them played and test transitions, audio levels, and the final-to-first handoff before broadcasting. Confirm that your chosen encoder or service actually supports continuous playback and looping; YouTube’s encoder setup explains the connection to YouTube but does not mean every encoder can rotate through multiple files.
Only stream material you have the rights to use. Prerecorded video is still subject to YouTube’s copyright and platform rules; a live format does not grant permission to rebroadcast music, footage, or other creators’ work. Review the permissions for every file and any music included in it. For a private technical test, choose private or unlisted visibility; that setting does not change the underlying rights requirements.

Plan stream length and archiving
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a single uninterrupted broadcast longer than that will produce an archive. If you need a replay, plan a stream duration under 12 hours or verify YouTube’s current limits and archive behavior before relying on a recording. A long-running continuous channel and a saved replay are separate operational goals.

Troubleshoot common problems
No incoming stream appears in Live Control Room
- Check that the encoder is running and that the stream URL and key were copied into the correct fields.
- If the key may have been exposed or changed, create or copy the current key from YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Confirm that live streaming is enabled for the channel; first-time enablement can take up to 24 hours.
The video stutters or stream health reports problems
- Compare the selected resolution, frame rate, and bitrate with YouTube’s current recommendations and the actual upload capacity of the sending connection.
- Reduce output demands if the connection cannot sustain the chosen settings, then preview again before going live.
- Check the source files and playback process as well as the encoder connection; a healthy connection cannot fix a file or playlist that has stopped advancing.
Audio is missing or the playlist stops
- Preview the feed in Live Control Room and verify that the files contain the expected audio and that the encoder is sending it.
- Check the playlist order and looping controls in the chosen playback tool. Confirm that continuous rotation is supported rather than assuming it from the encoder label.
- Monitor playback during operation so a stalled file, transition, or encoder process can be restarted.
