Direct answer: KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS starts streaming on October 16, 2026. Disney+ carries the film internationally, while viewers in the United States can watch it on both Disney+ and Hulu. On a television, install the Disney+ app, choose Log In, then scan the on-screen QR code or enter the eight-digit code at DisneyPlus.com/begin. Roku and Fire TV are supported, with Fire TV Stick compatibility requiring Fire OS 6.0 or later.

When and where to watch KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS

Streaming release date

KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS begins streaming on October 16, 2026. Disney’s September 23, 2026 announcement identifies it as a simultaneous Disney+ and Hulu release in the United States, with Disney+ distribution internationally.

Which service has it?

  • United States: Search for the film in either the Disney+ or Hulu catalog.
  • Outside the United States: Disney+ is the listed streaming service. Hulu availability in other countries is not established by the release announcement.

Catalogs are territory-specific. A Disney+ account in one country may not show the same title list as an account in another, and a title can appear at a different local time. If the film does not appear when you search, first check your account’s country and the service’s current catalog rather than assuming the television is incompatible.

What the film is and how long it runs

Disney+ classifies KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS as a feature-length documentary/music film. Nadia Hallgren is credited as director, and the Disney+ Explore editorial page gives an approximate runtime of 80 minutes (2026 listing). The runtime is an estimate shown by Disney+, so the playback counter on your device may differ slightly because of credits, previews, or regional presentation.

What you need before starting

  • A Disney+ subscription for the Disney+ route, or a Hulu subscription for the Hulu route in the United States. No single worldwide subscription price applies because plans and prices vary by country and can change.
  • A television or streaming player with the relevant app-store access, or an HDMI/casting device connected to the television.
  • Your account email and password. If you use a phone, tablet, or computer for activation, keep that device nearby.
  • A reliable internet connection. The app can open over a weak connection but may fail during sign-in or playback if the connection repeatedly drops.

Install the latest available system and app updates before troubleshooting playback. Disney’s compatibility lists describe supported device families, but support and catalog availability can vary by territory.

How to sign in to Disney+ on a smart TV

The same activation flow works on most televisions that offer a native Disney+ app, including supported Hisense, LG webOS, Samsung Tizen, Vizio SmartCast, Android TV, and Apple TV devices. Menu names can differ slightly by television model.

  1. Open the television’s app store or app launcher and install Disney+ if it is not already installed.
  2. Launch Disney+ and choose Log In. Do not choose a new subscription option if you already have an account.
  3. Read the activation screen. It will offer a QR code and an eight-digit code.
  4. Scan the QR code with your phone, or open a browser on another device and go to DisneyPlus.com/begin.
  5. Enter the exact eight-digit code shown on the television. The code is temporary, so keep the Disney+ screen open while entering it.
  6. Follow the prompts to sign in with the Disney+ account you intend to use on that TV.
  7. Wait for the television app to refresh. Search for KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS, open its title page, and select the play control.

If the QR code will not scan

Use the manual code instead. Type the address directly into the browser rather than searching for it, then enter all eight digits without spaces. If the code has expired, back out of the sign-in screen and select Log In again to generate a new one. Confirm that the phone or computer is online and that you are signing in to the account with the correct country or regional catalog.

If the app is missing from the television

A missing Disney+ icon usually means the TV model, operating-system version, app store, or territory does not currently offer the app. Check for a television software update and search the manufacturer’s app store by the exact name “Disney+.” If it still does not appear, use a supported Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, game console, casting path, or HDMI connection instead.

How to watch on Roku

Roku models listed by Disney+

Disney’s support documentation lists Disney+ support for these Roku families:

Roku family Support listed by Disney+
Roku Streaming Stick Supported models listed in Disney’s device documentation
Roku Express and Express+ Supported
Roku Premiere and Premiere+ Supported
Roku Ultra and Ultra LT Supported
Roku TV 2K and 4K models listed as supported

The list describes device families, not every hardware revision sold in every market. A Roku model that is no longer supported by its manufacturer may not be able to install the current Disney+ app even if the family name appears on the list.

Install and activate Disney+ on Roku

  1. Press Home on the Roku remote.
  2. Open the Roku channel store or search, then find Disney+.
  3. Select Add channel (the wording can vary by Roku software) and wait for installation to finish.
  4. Open Disney+ and select Log In.
  5. Scan the displayed QR code or visit DisneyPlus.com/begin on another device.
  6. Enter the eight-digit code shown by Roku and complete the account prompts.
  7. Return to the Roku app, search for KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS, and start playback.

Roku-specific checks

  • If installation stalls, restart the Roku from its system power menu, then try the channel installation again.
  • If Roku asks for an update, allow the system and Disney+ channel update before testing playback.
  • If the channel opens but the title is absent, verify the account’s country and catalog. Device support does not guarantee that every Disney+ title is offered in every territory.

How to watch on Amazon Fire TV

Compatibility requirement

Disney’s Help Center says its Fire TV support includes Fire TV Stick devices running Fire OS 6.0 or later. Other Fire TV devices are also listed as supported, but the exact app experience can vary by model and region. Check the Fire TV software version in the device settings before installing.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Install Disney+ from the Amazon Appstore

  1. From the Fire TV home screen, open the app search or the Find area.
  2. Search for Disney+ and select the official app listing in the Amazon Appstore.
  3. Choose Get, Download, or the equivalent install control.
  4. Open Disney+ after installation and choose Log In.
  5. Scan the QR code shown on the TV, or open DisneyPlus.com/begin in a phone or computer browser.
  6. Enter the eight-digit code displayed by Fire TV and finish signing in.
  7. Use Disney+ search to find KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS, open the title page, and play it.

When Fire TV cannot install the app

Open Settings, then the device information or My Fire TV area, and check the Fire OS version. A Fire TV Stick below 6.0 does not meet the version requirement stated in Disney’s support guidance. Install available system updates and check that the device has enough free storage. If the app remains unavailable, connect a supported newer streaming player or use casting/HDMI.

Other supported television and connected-device routes

Disney’s device information also names Hisense, LG webOS, Samsung Tizen, Vizio SmartCast, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, PlayStation, Xbox, and other TV-connected platforms. The exact app name, sign-in screen, and store location depend on the manufacturer and territory.

Hulu app United States Install Hulu, sign in, and search the U.S. catalog for the film
Roku Supported Roku players and Roku TV models Add Disney+ from the Roku channel store, then activate with the displayed code
Fire TV Supported Amazon Fire TV devices; Fire TV Stick requires Fire OS 6.0 or later Install Disney+ from the Amazon Appstore and complete code activation
Casting A compatible phone, tablet, or computer and a supported receiver Open Disney+ on the source device, select its cast control, and choose the TV or receiver
HDMI A computer or compatible streaming device with an HDMI output Connect HDMI, switch the TV to that input, and play through the source device

Using Hulu in the United States

The official release announcement confirms Hulu availability in the United States beginning October 16, 2026. On a compatible smart TV, Roku, or Fire TV, install or open the Hulu app, sign in, and search the catalog for the exact title. Hulu’s app menus and supported-device list are separate from Disney+’s, so a device that can run Disney+ may still need a Hulu app update or a different account plan for Hulu playback.

If Hulu search does not return the film, try Disney+ with the same regional account. Do not infer international Hulu access from the U.S. announcement; the international service identified for this title is Disney+.

Casting or HDMI when there is no native app

Casting

  1. Install Disney+ on a supported phone, tablet, or computer and sign in.
  2. Connect the source device and the TV or casting receiver to the same local network when the casting technology requires it.
  3. Open the film in Disney+ and select the cast control.
  4. Choose the correct TV or receiver, then start playback. Keep the source device available for pause, seek, and subtitle controls.

Receiver support and casting behavior can differ by territory and operating system. If the cast icon does not appear, update the Disney+ app and receiver software, confirm both devices are on the same network, and use HDMI as the fallback.

HDMI

  1. Connect an HDMI cable from the computer or compatible streaming device to an open HDMI port on the TV.
  2. Use the TV remote’s input/source control to select that HDMI port.
  3. Open Disney+ on the connected source, sign in, and play the film.

HDMI avoids dependence on the TV’s app store, but the source device still needs a supported Disney+ app or browser and a valid account.

Choosing the quickest route

  • Already have a modern smart TV: Use its Disney+ app and the eight-digit activation flow.
  • Have a supported Roku: Add Disney+ from the channel store; this is usually simpler than connecting a computer.
  • Have a Fire TV Stick: Confirm Fire OS 6.0 or later, then install Disney+ from the Amazon Appstore.
  • Are in the United States and already use Hulu: Search Hulu on October 16, 2026; Disney+ is the alternative U.S. service.
  • Do not see Disney+ in the television’s store: Use a supported streaming player, casting receiver, or HDMI connection.
  • Are outside the United States: Start with Disney+, because the release announcement identifies it as the international service.

Troubleshooting sign-in and playback

The eight-digit code is rejected

  • Generate a fresh code by returning to the TV app’s Log In screen.
  • Enter all eight digits exactly as displayed; do not reuse a code from an earlier attempt.
  • Open the activation address directly at DisneyPlus.com/begin and confirm that the browser is online.
  • Check that you are signing in to the intended Disney+ account, especially if several household members use different accounts.

The title cannot be found

Confirm the spelling KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS, then search again after the October 16, 2026 release date. If you are in the United States, check both Disney+ and Hulu. Elsewhere, check Disney+ and the account’s country catalog. A supported device does not make a title available in every territory.

The app crashes, buffers, or shows a blank screen

  1. Close and reopen Disney+.
  2. Restart the television, Roku, or Fire TV.
  3. Install pending device and app updates.
  4. Test another title to determine whether the problem affects all playback or only this film.
  5. Restart the home network if other streaming apps are also buffering.
  6. Use casting or HDMI temporarily if the native app remains unstable.

Subtitles, audio, or picture quality seem wrong

Open the player’s audio and subtitle controls and choose the available language or caption track. Available tracks and video quality can vary by territory, device, plan, and connection. If controls are missing, update the app and test playback on another supported device before changing television settings.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Availability qualifications to keep in mind

Disney’s published device lists establish compatibility for the named platforms, not a guarantee that every model, software revision, or country will have the app at all times. Territory rules also affect catalog access. The release information supports Disney+ internationally and Disney+ plus Hulu in the United States; it does not establish a universal subscription price, a worldwide Hulu launch, or identical catalogs.

For the most reliable setup, update the streaming device, activate Disney+ with the on-screen code, and verify the title in the account’s local catalog after October 16, 2026. The film is an approximately 80-minute feature-length documentary/music release directed by Nadia Hallgren.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
