You can keep Indian music live on YouTube around the clock by looping rights-cleared recordings through an encoder and sending the feed to YouTube over RTMPS. For a local setup, YouTube Studio supplies the stream URL and key; the encoder, internet connection and power must then remain available and be monitored. RTMPS can secure the connection, but it cannot guarantee uptime or prevent copyright interruptions.

Clear the music rights before you build the stream

Make permissions your first operational check. For every track, establish that you have the applicable rights to the composition and recording, for the territories and platform involved, and specifically for continuous live use. Owning a copy or having access through a consumer music service does not by itself establish permission to retransmit it.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, including other broadcasts. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you to stop using the material; if the material remains, the stream can be interrupted or terminated. Even a license may not prevent a live interruption if the rights owner has not added your channel to its Content ID allowlist. See YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.

YouTube for Artists advises: “If you’re planning on using copyright-protected music during your live stream, we recommend coordinating with your label or distributor to avoid any issues, such as copyright strikes.” Ask the appropriate label, distributor or rights owner about both your permission and Content ID allowlisting before launch: YouTube for Artists’ live-stream guidance.

What you need for a continuous broadcast

  • A YouTube channel eligible for live streaming. YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the past 90 days. For music channels, YouTube for Artists says to enable live streaming by verifying at least 24 hours before the planned start.
  • An encoder that can send RTMPS and play a recording or playlist on repeat. The exact playlist controls vary by encoder.
  • A stable upload connection with enough capacity for the full outgoing bitrate, plus power and a plan to notice and respond to failures.
  • A rights-cleared music program and, if a complete replay matters, a separate recording plan.

Review YouTube’s live-stream eligibility and setup guidance before scheduling. Eligibility and interface availability can change, so confirm the channel’s status in YouTube Studio rather than assuming a channel can go live.

Set up YouTube and connect the encoder

  1. Enable live streaming and confirm eligibility. Verify the channel and enable the feature in advance. For a music channel, allow at least 24 hours after verification before the planned stream, as advised by YouTube for Artists.
  2. Create or schedule the broadcast. In YouTube Studio, use Create > Go live to open Live Control Room and create or schedule the stream. The exact labels can vary as YouTube updates Studio.
  3. Copy the connection details from Live Control Room. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the broadcast, then enter them into the encoder’s YouTube or custom RTMP server settings. Treat the key like a password: do not put it in a public description, screenshot or shared document. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio before relying on the stream.
  4. Select RTMPS if the encoder supports it. YouTube recommends RTMPS, the encrypted form of RTMP. Use the URL supplied by YouTube or its documented RTMPS endpoint; do not substitute a guessed server address or application path. Google’s ingestion guide specifies an RTMPS URL and port 443. The RTMPS developer guide explains the connection format.
  5. Choose a video and audio format the encoder and connection can sustain. YouTube’s current encoder-settings guidance lists H.264, H.265 or AV1 video and AAC or MP3 audio for RTMP/RTMPS. It recommends constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval, and says not to exceed four seconds. Use an encoder preset that actually matches your chosen resolution and frame rate.
  6. Load and loop the music program. Add only recordings you are authorized to stream, order the playlist, enable looping in the encoder, and check that transitions do not leave unintended silence. Listen to the encoder preview and YouTube’s Live Control Room preview before starting the public broadcast.
  7. Start the encoder, then check Live Control Room. Confirm that YouTube receives the feed and review its stream-health messages. Do not assume that a successful connection means the picture, sound, bitrate or rights status is trouble-free.

For encoder-specific menus, consult that encoder’s documentation; YouTube’s instructions describe the common flow, but not every encoder uses identical field names. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.

Choose bitrate and resolution for the real upload connection

The upload link must carry the encoder’s total outgoing bitrate reliably. YouTube recommends that available upload bandwidth exceed the total stream bitrate by 20%. On a shared home or office connection, other devices can consume capacity; if sending primary and backup feeds, count both in the required upload budget. Run an upload test under realistic conditions and choose a bitrate the connection can sustain, rather than selecting settings based only on the internet plan’s advertised maximum.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Example video setting YouTube-recommended video bitrate Practical use
720p at 60 fps 6 Mbps A lower-resolution option when the sustained upload budget is limited.
1080p at 30 fps 10 Mbps A standard full-HD option for a feed that does not need 60 fps.
1080p at 60 fps 12 Mbps A higher-motion full-HD option that needs more upload capacity.

These are video bitrate recommendations listed by YouTube, not guaranteed minimum connection speeds; audio and any other outgoing feed add to total bandwidth. For example, a 12 Mbps video stream requires more than 12 Mbps of available upload to meet YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom, before accounting for any separate backup stream. YouTube lists H.264, H.265 and AV1 as supported video codecs for RTMP/RTMPS, and AAC or MP3 for audio. Check its encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions for its full recommendations, then test the exact settings you plan to use.

If upload capacity fluctuates, reduce the resolution, frame rate or bitrate until the feed is stable. A wired Ethernet connection between a nearby encoder computer and router can be a practical choice, but it is not a guarantee against dropouts; the underlying internet service, network congestion, router and power still matter. YouTube’s streaming tips recommend testing and monitoring rather than assuming a nominal connection speed will hold continuously.

Plan for disconnections and backup paths

A 24/7 broadcast is a continuous operating commitment, not an automatic uptime feature of YouTube or RTMPS. YouTube’s API documentation describes a channel broadcasting a 24/7 live feed, which shows that the platform supports the use case; it does not promise that a particular stream will stay connected. Network disruption can break a feed, so decide who or what will notice and respond if the encoder, power or connection fails. See Google’s explanation of broadcasts and streams, updated September 14, 2026 UTC, and YouTube’s streaming tips.

A backup encoder or separate internet route can reduce reliance on one path, but it must be configured and tested as a system. YouTube advises testing backup-encoder rollover by stopping the primary encoder or unplugging its Ethernet cable, then checking whether the player moves to the backup. Perform that test before depending on failover; a test is not proof that a different setup will switch successfully. Include the backup feed’s bitrate when sizing upload capacity.

Protect replays separately from the live feed

Do not count on YouTube to retain a complete 24-hour replay. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If replayable segments matter, record locally and plan how to divide or otherwise preserve the ongoing program. YouTube recommends a local archive backup; see its live-stream archiving guidance.

Google’s API documentation describes an API-oriented arrangement in which a continuously live broadcast and a separate, shorter broadcast can be bound to the same incoming stream. That example is not a general setup promise for every creator or encoder. For an ordinary encoder workflow, plan a local recording and verify your own archive process instead of assuming YouTube will create a complete video from a day-long broadcast.

Local encoder or cloud-hosted operation?

A local encoder is a straightforward starting point if you can keep its computer, power and internet connection running and can monitor it. A hosted or remote encoder may suit an operator who cannot keep equipment running locally, but evaluate the provider’s controls, recovery behavior, rights workflow and cost. Neither arrangement removes the need to clear the music or confirm that the YouTube stream is healthy.

Decision point Local encoder Hosted or remote encoder
What must stay available? The local encoder, power and network connection. The provider’s service and the connection from that service to YouTube; evaluate the provider’s stated operating details.
Who responds to failure? You or an operator you arrange to monitor and restart it. Check what monitoring and recovery the service actually provides; do not assume it.
What should be tested? Encoder restart, internet interruption, stream health and any backup path. Controls, recovery behavior, failover and the rights workflow, as applicable.
What costs should be considered? Power, internet and any locally needed equipment or recording storage. The service charge and any separate equipment, internet or storage costs.

Pre-launch checklist

  1. Verify live eligibility and enable the channel’s live-stream feature in advance.
  2. Confirm permissions for the compositions and recordings, territories and continuous live use; ask the rights owner or distributor about Content ID allowlisting.
  3. Create or schedule the broadcast, select RTMPS in the encoder, and keep the stream key private.
  4. Test upload speed in the conditions expected during broadcast. Calculate total outgoing bitrate, including any backup feed, and leave YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom.
  5. Run an unlisted test. Check the audio, video, playlist loop, preview and Live Control Room health messages.
  6. Test the backup encoder or connection transition if your design depends on one.
  7. Decide where the local recording will be stored and how replayable segments will be preserved.
  8. Assign an operator or alerting plan for encoder failure, network interruption or rights warnings, and check the live dashboard after launch.

Troubleshooting common RTMPS and stability problems

Symptom Likely cause to check What to do
Encoder cannot connect; SSL error or timeout Wrong URL or host, RTMP selected instead of RTMPS, incorrect port, or an encoder that does not support RTMPS. Copy the URL from YouTube Studio again; confirm the RTMPS protocol, correct host and port 443 support, and the encoder’s RTMPS capability. Do not guess an endpoint or application path.
Stream health reports unstable connection or the feed drops The outgoing bitrate exceeds what the connection can sustain, available upload fluctuates, or the network is shared. Measure sustained upload during realistic use, reduce bitrate or resolution, leave the recommended 20% headroom, and check whether other devices or a wireless link are affecting the encoder.
Picture or audio does not match the selected stream Encoder output settings, codec, frame rate, audio source or playlist behavior are not configured as intended. Compare the encoder output with YouTube’s supported codecs and settings; inspect the preview and test the full loop before going public.
YouTube interrupts the feed or displays a copyright warning A third-party match was detected, or the channel is not allowlisted by the rights owner despite having a license. Stop using the matched material, follow the notice in Live Control Room, and resolve permissions and allowlisting with the rights owner or distributor before restarting.
The broadcast reconnects but the replay is missing or incomplete A long continuous stream may not be archived by YouTube. Use a local recording plan and preserve shorter replay segments separately; do not rely on a broadcast over 12 hours for a complete YouTube archive.
A backup is expected to take over, but the viewer still sees an interruption Failover may not be configured for that setup, or the transition has not been tested successfully. Test by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet cable, verify the player moves to backup, and troubleshoot the handoff before depending on it.

Or let it run in the cloud

If keeping a local encoder, computer and home connection running is the part you want to avoid, StreamNeo keeps an uploaded video or playlist live on YouTube from the cloud. The setup is: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, then go live. It is for uploaded videos, not a live camera feed, and streams to YouTube only.
