A true 24/7 broadcast also needs a continuous encoder and internet connection—or a cloud service that plays uploaded videos—plus monitoring. YouTube documents how to set up encoder streams, but does not promise that one stream will stay uninterrupted indefinitely.
What you need for a 24/7 bhajan channel
- A YouTube channel eligible to live stream: it must be verified, have no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days, and the person streaming must be at least 16. Check YouTube’s current live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Bhajan audio and visuals you have the rights to use in a live broadcast.
- An encoder and a reliable upload connection that can run continuously, or a cloud service that streams uploaded recordings.
- A program plan: for example, Hindi bhajans followed by Gujarati bhajans, or alternating blocks with clear titles and timings.
- Someone or something to check stream health and respond if the feed stops or YouTube flags content.

Plan the Hindi and Gujarati programming
Make the schedule easy to follow
Choose whether the stream will alternate languages, use fixed language blocks, or follow a daily devotional schedule. Put the language, program type, and any meaningful timing information in the stream title and description. If viewers arrive partway through, they should be able to tell what is playing and what comes next. Avoid claiming that a particular prayer or song will play at a specific time unless the schedule is dependable.

Build a continuous playlist or program in the encoder or cloud service you choose. Test transitions between tracks, audio levels, and any title cards or other visuals. A playlist can simplify the sequence, but it does not establish that you have permission to broadcast its contents; confirm rights for every recording and other included material.

Set up a YouTube encoder stream
- Confirm eligibility. Verify the channel and check that live streaming is available without an active restriction. YouTube says a streamer must be at least 16; see its live-streaming requirements.
- Create or schedule the stream. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create a stream or schedule one. Set a descriptive title and details for the Hindi and Gujarati programming. You can edit live-stream settings in Live Control Room.
- Connect the encoder. In the encoder’s stream settings, enter the YouTube Live server URL and stream key shown for the stream. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel. YouTube explains the encoder connection in its setup guide.
- Choose settings for your connection. Select a resolution, frame rate, video and audio codecs, and bitrate that the encoder and upload connection can sustain. YouTube documents RTMP/RTMPS, supported codecs, and recommended encoder settings in its live encoder settings guide. Use the current recommendations there rather than guessing a bitrate; the right choice depends on the output you want and available upload capacity.
- Test before going live. Send a representative section of the program, check the preview in Live Control Room, and listen for clipping, silence, uneven levels, or abrupt transitions. Confirm the stream health indicator is acceptable before starting the public broadcast. YouTube recommends testing and previewing and advises allowing 20% upload-bandwidth headroom; see Streaming tips.
- Monitor the broadcast. Keep an eye on the encoder, network, and Live Control Room. Have a response plan for a dropped connection, an encoder restart, or a YouTube copyright warning. A continuous service still needs a way to detect and recover from failures.
Choose how to keep the stream running
Run an encoder yourself
A self-hosted setup gives you control over the encoder and playlist, but the computer, power, software, and internet connection all have to remain available. Compare possible computers or encoders by whether they can run your chosen streaming software reliably, handle the audio and video inputs you need, and tolerate continuous operation. YouTube does not require a particular computer or endorse a specific encoder model in the cited setup guidance.
Plan upload capacity against the total bitrate you send. YouTube recommends 20% headroom above that bitrate; if you use primary and backup feeds, account for both feeds and the headroom. Choose resolution and bitrate to fit the actual connection, and test at the intended settings before relying on the setup for long sessions.

Check the rights for both the underlying bhajan composition and the specific sound recording you plan to play. A traditional or devotional song may have a composition with a different rights status from a modern recording of it. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the broadcaster to hold the rights needed to exploit the live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights: Livestream terms and conditions.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A stream can be replaced with a warning or placeholder, interrupted, or terminated. Even if you have a license, the rights owner may need to allowlist your channel through Content ID for the stream not to be interrupted. A live archive can also receive a Content ID claim after the broadcast ends. See Copyright issues with live streams.

YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its guidance does not establish a guarantee that one broadcast can remain uninterrupted for 24 hours or longer. Plan for connection or encoder failures and decide how you will restart the stream if necessary; consult the encoder stream guide and streaming tips.

YouTube’s monetization rules apply at the channel level and address reused content as well as repetitive or mass-produced content. Permission from another creator does not by itself settle a reused-content review. On July 15, 2025, YouTube renamed its “repetitious content” policy to “inauthentic content” and described repetitive or mass-produced content as ineligible for monetization. Review YouTube channel monetization policies before building a channel around minimally altered recordings from elsewhere.
