Start with Samsung TV Plus
Samsung TV Plus is Samsung’s built-in free streaming service. It carries live channels and some on-demand programming, with ads. It does not mean every movie is available to play whenever you want: channels and content can change, and on-demand selection is limited to what is offered on your TV in your region.

- Connect the TV to the internet over Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
- Press Home on the remote.
- Select the Samsung TV Plus tile or its entry in the app bar.
- Browse the channel guide or, where available, the on-demand area.
Samsung’s US support page says TV Plus is available on Samsung Smart TVs and projectors from 2016 onward in select areas, while Samsung Australia lists Smart TVs from 2017 onward and says the latest firmware is required. These are regional eligibility statements, not a universal cutoff. Finding on-demand titles
Some TV Plus channels may offer individual on-demand videos in addition to live programming. Samsung Australia’s instructions say to tune to a channel, press Down, and choose the on-demand option when it appears. That navigation is specific to the Australian guidance; the option and steps may differ by location, model, or software.

Do you need a Samsung account?
Account requirements depend on the service and regional instructions. Samsung UK says an account is not required to watch TV Plus, while Samsung’s US support page describes account requirements for network-based smart services. Install another free streaming app
If TV Plus does not have the movie or type of programming you want, search the TV’s app store for a compatible streaming service. A service being free does not necessarily mean it is ad-free, and app availability is not the same on every model or in every country. Confirm the app appears in your TV’s own Apps screen before relying on it.

- Make sure the TV has a stable internet connection.
- Press Home and open Search or Apps; labels vary by model and software.
- Search for the streaming service by name.
- Select the matching result, choose Install, then Open.
- Follow any on-screen sign-in or setup prompts.
Samsung’s India app-installation guide, updated June 29, 2026, says access to the app store requires internet and a Samsung account. If TV Plus or an app is missing
- Check regional and model eligibility: Availability differs across Samsung’s country-specific support pages. Search Samsung support using the TV’s exact model number.
- Check the connection: Both TV Plus and app-store browsing require internet access.
- Check for a software update: Samsung Australia specifically notes that TV Plus requires current firmware.
- Check the app listing on the TV: A service may not support your model, software version, or region, even if it works on another Samsung TV.
- Use a separate streaming device only if needed: It may help when your TV is unsupported or lacks a desired app, but it is not required for TV Plus on a supported, connected TV.
What “free movies” means here
TV Plus is free to watch but ad-supported. Its offering includes live programming and some on-demand titles; it is not a promise of a complete or permanent movie library. Other free apps may also use advertising or impose their own account requirements. Check the service’s listing and terms in your region before choosing it.

An antenna is a different option: it receives over-the-air broadcast television rather than streaming movies over the internet. For the title’s streaming use case, start with TV Plus and the Apps screen already on the television.
