You can stream an Urdu podcast playlist to YouTube Live with FFmpeg by preparing compatible episode files, adding a looping image if they are audio-only, encoding a continuous feed, and sending it to YouTube’s RTMPS ingest address with your private stream key. The exact command depends on your files and whether the playlist should run once or repeat; test the complete setup in YouTube’s preview before a public broadcast.
Before you start: rights, channel access and files
Confirm permission for every part of the broadcast
Only rebroadcast episodes you own or have permission to use. Check the rights for the podcast audio, guest contributions, music, cover art and any other visuals separately. A file that FFmpeg can play is not necessarily cleared for a YouTube broadcast; technical compatibility does not establish permission.

Make sure the channel can go live
YouTube’s live-streaming guidance requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and encoder setup instructions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesInventory the playlist
Record each episode’s file name, duration, audio and video codecs, resolution, frame rate and number of streams. Decide the order and whether the broadcast should end after one pass or continue looping. Files with different codecs or stream layouts may need normalization rather than direct concatenation.

Choose how FFmpeg will assemble the episodes
Use the concat demuxer only for compatible inputs
FFmpeg’s concat demuxer can join files without re-encoding when their streams and parameters are compatible. It is not a universal playlist player: mismatched codecs, stream layouts or other properties can cause errors or unreliable transitions. Check the inputs first, then test the full sequence. FFmpeg documents concat options in its FAQ.
Normalize mismatched episodes
If the files are mixed, use a filter-based concat workflow or transcode them to a consistent format before streaming. Re-encoding takes compute and can alter quality, but it gives you a way to standardize the output. Choose the method based on the actual files, not just their extensions.

Add a picture for audio-only episodes
YouTube Live needs a video track as well as audio. For audio-only podcasts, prepare a static image or episode card and use it as a looping visual while the audio plays. FFmpeg’s image2 input supports a loop option; that option repeats the image input but does not arrange episodes or configure YouTube delivery. Make sure the artwork itself is cleared for broadcast. See the FFmpeg documentation for image input and command options.

- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create or select the live stream you intend to use.
- Copy the ingest server URL and stream key. Use the values shown for that stream; do not assume a URL or key from another broadcast applies.
- Use RTMPS if your FFmpeg build and configuration support it. YouTube recommends RTMPS, which encrypts the connection in transit. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains the connection details.
- Keep the key private. YouTube describes the stream key as a password. Do not put the real key in a public script, screenshot, tutorial, shared command history or exposed log. Substitute it locally wherever your command needs it.
Choose encoder settings for the output you will actually send
YouTube’s general RTMP/RTMPS guidance specifies H.264 video, AAC or MP3 audio, constant bitrate (CBR), and frame rates up to 60 fps. It recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. For stereo audio, its guidance lists 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps. Select the recommended video bitrate from the row matching your output resolution, frame rate and codec rather than assuming one bitrate fits every stream. See YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate table.

- PLUG IN AND HEAR SOUND IN SECONDS - USB Type-A connector with a 3.5mm stereo headphone output and a separate 3.5mm mono microphone input. No drivers, no software, no external power - the adapter is USB bus-powered and is recognized as a standard USB audio device.
- WORKS ON WINDOWS, MAC AND LINUX - Driverless on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8, Linux and Mac OSX, and compliant with the USB Audio Device Class 1.0 specification, so any system that supports class-compliant USB audio will see it. Select it as the sound output and input device after plugging it in.
- TWO JACKS, TWO JOBS - The green jack is stereo OUT for headphones or powered speakers; the pink jack is mono microphone IN for a 3.5mm mic. It does NOT support 4-pole headsets on a single combo plug, it does NOT power passive speakers, and it does NOT add surround sound - it is a stereo 2-channel adapter.
- FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
- Resolution and frame rate: Pick a target the source material and connection can sustain. A podcast with a static image usually has no reason to use a high frame rate merely because the encoder supports one.
- Video bitrate: Match the exact resolution and frame-rate row in YouTube’s current table.
- Audio: Use AAC or MP3; for stereo, YouTube’s listed settings are 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps.
- Keyframes: Set a two-second interval where the encoder allows it; keep it at or below four seconds.
- Rate control: Use CBR for the YouTube-recommended baseline.
FFmpeg accepts inputs with -i, processes or transcodes as needed, and writes output to a destination URL. Its documentation includes RTMP output examples and the -re option for reading input at real-time pace. Consult the FFmpeg documentation and check which encoders your installed build provides before assembling the command.
There is no single reliable command for every Urdu podcast playlist: the source formats, stream layouts, image dimensions, desired resolution, single-pass or looping behavior, FFmpeg build and actual YouTube ingest URL all affect it. Treat example commands from elsewhere as starting points, not as validated for your files. Do not expose your live stream key when testing or asking for help.

Test the complete playlist, then monitor the live broadcast
- Run a private or unlisted test where appropriate. Use the same episode files, visual, encoder settings and network connection planned for the real broadcast.
- Check the Live Control Room preview. Confirm that picture appears, audio is intelligible and synchronized, and episodes advance in the intended order.
- Listen through transitions. Watch for gaps, silence, clipping, abrupt endings or unexpected end-of-file behavior.
- Check stream health and network headroom. YouTube recommends upload capacity with 20% headroom above the total stream bitrate. Its live-streaming tips also advise testing and monitoring stream health.
- Monitor throughout the broadcast. A successful start does not guarantee the playlist, audio or upload connection will remain healthy.
YouTube’s encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Check the current archive settings and confirm the resulting recording in Studio after the event rather than assuming every configuration behaves identically.
Troubleshooting common problems
- FFmpeg reports concat errors or the output breaks between episodes: The inputs may not have compatible stream properties. Inspect each file and normalize the sources or use a filter-based workflow; test the entire playlist.
- YouTube receives audio but no picture: The source may be audio-only. Add a visual input, such as a cleared static image, and confirm the preview shows video.
- The stream does not connect: Check that the ingest URL and stream key came from the selected Live Control Room stream, that the key was copied correctly, and that the encoder supports the chosen RTMP or RTMPS destination.
- YouTube reports poor stream health or playback stutters: Compare the selected bitrate with the matching YouTube recommendation and check upload capacity; YouTube recommends 20% headroom above total bitrate.
- The first live broadcast is unavailable: Confirm channel verification and live-streaming eligibility. First-time enablement can take up to 24 hours.
- Episodes stop instead of repeating: Check the playlist logic and the selected concat or filter workflow. A looping image repeats the picture input; it does not make the audio playlist repeat.
- A broadcast is blocked or claimed: Review rights for the episode, guests’ contributions, music and artwork. Encoding settings cannot grant rebroadcast permission.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is a YouTube channel that stays live with uploaded podcast episodes, StreamNeo is a cloud alternative: upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Its cloud process keeps streaming with your computer off, automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream, and plays uploads as made at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot. The first day is free with no card. Monthly access is $9.99 per month. For Indian creators, UPI and cards are accepted. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos to YouTube; it does not stream from a camera. To try it, start your free first day.
