To stream an Assamese podcast playlist on YouTube Live around the clock, use an encoder on a verified channel, queue only episodes and artwork you have permission to broadcast, and keep a local recording. You can keep one viewing page live, but YouTube warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured as an archive. If preserving the program matters, plan shorter sessions with handoffs and save each segment locally.
Before you start: check channel access and rights
Confirm the channel can go live
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Its live-streaming guidance describes encoder streaming as an option for broadcasts using overlays or external inputs.

Clear every part of the playlist
Make sure you have the rights needed to livestream each episode and every included element: spoken performances, guest contributions, theme or background music, clips, and accompanying images. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions place responsibility for necessary rights on the provider, including music rights from artists, labels, publishers, and other royalty participants.

An episode being available as a podcast—or having appeared on YouTube before—does not by itself establish permission for a new continuous live broadcast. Check that the relevant license covers YouTube, the territories where viewers may watch, live use, and any archived replay, as well as applicable laws and regulations.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party material. If it detects a match, it may show a warning or placeholder, interrupt the stream, or terminate it. A license does not necessarily prevent interruption: YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams says the rights owner may need to allowlist your channel in Content ID. Archived streams may also receive Content ID claims after the broadcast.

Build a rights-cleared audio-led program
Arrange the episodes in the order you want them played and decide what viewers will see while they listen. For an audio-led Assamese podcast stream, this could be a static program slate or other artwork you have permission to use. Check the transitions and audio levels between episodes before scheduling a long session.

Choose and test an encoder
An encoder-capable computer and reliable internet connection are the core requirements; a professional hardware encoder is optional, not a requirement established for this kind of playlist. YouTube’s live encoder settings and bitrate guidance covers quality settings. Set the resolution and bitrate to suit the actual upload connection, and test with material similar to the real broadcast.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
- In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule an encoder stream. Follow its prompts to configure the stream and obtain the stream key.
- In your encoder, select the stream destination and enter the stream key from the Live Control Room. Keep the key private; anyone with access to it may be able to broadcast to the stream.
- Load the playlist or program into the encoder, set the output quality to a level your connection can sustain, and start a private or unlisted test before the public broadcast.
- Check the Live Control Room preview and public watch page, listen for clear and consistent audio, and confirm the local recording file is being written.
Use YouTube’s current encoder guidance for the specific resolution and bitrate you choose; do not assume a setting that works on one connection will be stable on another. YouTube recommends upload bandwidth approximately 20% above the stream’s total bitrate. A backup stream also consumes bandwidth. See its streaming tips for network and monitoring guidance.

Choose how to handle a continuous broadcast and its archive
YouTube says a stream under 12 hours can be automatically archived; if a stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all. If the YouTube archive is important, plan shorter sessions and save local recordings rather than relying on one uninterrupted 24-hour session.
| Approach | Viewer continuity | Archive and operations |
|---|---|---|
| One uninterrupted session | One persistent live session, if the encoder and connection keep running. | Higher archive risk: YouTube warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured. Arrange monitoring and a recovery plan. |
| Shorter sessions with handoffs | Requires planned restarts or handoffs between sessions. | More suitable when platform archives matter; keep a local recording of each segment as a separate backup. |
For either approach, keep an operator or recovery plan for overnight faults. YouTube warns that a connectivity disruption can break the stream; its guidance recommends testing the encoder, monitoring audio and video quality, checking the viewing page, and verifying local archive files. If you use a backup encoder, test its failover before relying on it. A UPS may help keep a dedicated computer powered through some interruptions, but it cannot fix a network outage, encoder crash, rights claim, or YouTube-side interruption.

Troubleshooting common problems
- The channel cannot start a live stream: Check that the channel is verified and has no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Review YouTube’s live-stream setup guidance.
- The stream buffers or drops: Compare the encoder’s total bitrate with available upload bandwidth and leave YouTube’s recommended approximate 20% headroom. Check the connection and monitor stream health; a network disruption can break the stream.
- A warning, placeholder, or interruption appears: Check the content being played for a third-party match. If you have permission to use the material, contact the rights owner about allowlisting the channel in Content ID; permission alone may not stop an automated interruption.
- The livestream does not appear in the archive: YouTube says streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Use shorter planned sessions when platform archiving matters, and verify that a local recording is being written.
- The test looks fine but the overnight session fails: Test with representative content, watch the Live Control Room and public page, confirm local files continue growing, and establish who will respond to faults. Do not treat a single successful test as a guarantee of uninterrupted operation.
