You can stream a Marathi radio playlist to YouTube Live with a computer and encoder, but only after confirming that you have permission for every recording and composition in the playlist for live streaming in the places where viewers can watch. A publicly accessible radio broadcast or a purchased music file does not by itself grant those rights. YouTube may also interrupt a licensed stream if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel in Content ID.
1. Clear the playlist for a live broadcast
Before you schedule the stream, make an inventory of the exact recordings and compositions you plan to play. Identify the relevant rights holders and confirm that your permission expressly covers transmission on YouTube Live in the territories where the stream will be available. If you intend to leave the replay online, check that the permission also covers the archived replay.

YouTube’s live-stream terms put responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights, including music licensing rights involving artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. Read YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions and get confirmation from the relevant rights holders; the rights status of a particular Marathi station playlist or song cannot be assumed.
- A song playing publicly on a radio station is not proof that you can retransmit it.
- Buying a track or crediting its artist does not establish permission for a YouTube live broadcast.
- A label such as “free” is not enough by itself; check the actual license terms, territories, and live-use permissions.
- Rights rules can differ by country or region, so verify coverage for the places where viewers may access the stream.
Permission and Content ID are separate checks
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, including content that may appear in another broadcast. It can display a placeholder and warn the streamer; if the material continues, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. YouTube says that even a creator who has licensed third-party material may need the rights owner to allowlist the channel through Content ID. Ask the rights owner about allowlisting before going live, and keep permission records and a contact available during the broadcast. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

- All-in-One Internet Radio Component: Seamlessly access thousands of global stations via Wi-Fi or LAN, using Skytune, enjoy Podcasts, local FM radio, and stream music from your phone via Bluetooth (Requires external speakers or amplifier—no built-in speaker driver).
- HiFi Integration Ready: Easily connect to your home audio system with stereo line-out or optical output. No built-in speaker—designed as a pure tuner for audiophiles who want flexibility, or if you already have an amplifier or stereo systems to connect with.
- Smart Streaming & Playlist Control: Supports UPnP and DLNA for streaming music from networked PCs or NAS drives. Create and manage playlists or stream directly from your home server.
- Enhanced User Control: Comes with a full-function remote control and 3.2" color screen. Browse stations, set sleep timers, alarms, EQ sound modes, and manage your favorites. Option to display a clock while playing with adjustable dimmer settings.
- Multiple Playback Modes & Alarms: Supports alarm via favorite station, FM, or tone. Sleep timer, kitchen timer, podcast playback with resume function, and remote web control via Skytune website.
Allowlisting does not replace a license: it addresses platform detection, while permission addresses whether you are entitled to use the music. Neither should be treated as proof of the other.
Creator Music does not clear a live playlist
YouTube says Creator Music tracks are for long-form videos under the applicable usage rules, not live streams or Shorts. It is not a workaround for music rights in a live Marathi playlist. See Creator Music usage details. YouTube also describes public-domain material, permission, applicable Creative Commons terms, and its music sources as possible routes for music use, but no route guarantees that a stream will avoid claims or strikes; check the terms for the specific material. YouTube describes mobile, webcam, and encoder routes. For a computer-based playlist with a still image, visualizer, or overlays, an encoder is a practical choice because it sends the prepared audio and visuals to YouTube. YouTube lists OBS among encoders that support HLS output; that does not mean HLS is required for a basic playlist stream.

| Method | When it fits | Considerations |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile | A stream created from a phone, subject to the channel and feature eligibility shown by YouTube. | Less suited to a computer-managed playlist and designed visuals. |
| Webcam | A straightforward broadcast centered on a webcam feed. | Not the natural fit when the main content is a prepared playlist and graphics. |
| Software encoder | A computer-based stream combining playlist audio with a chosen visual or overlays. | Requires the computer and connection to remain available and monitored while streaming. |
| Hardware encoder | Higher-production events where dedicated encoding equipment suits the setup. | YouTube does not say a hardware encoder is necessary to get started; no particular purchase is justified for this task alone. |
YouTube’s live streaming tips recommend testing, previewing, and monitoring quality. For protocol details, its HLS setup guidance notes that HLS has higher latency than RTMP. Choose a protocol supported by your encoder and appropriate to your needs rather than selecting HLS by default.
4. Set up and test the broadcast
- Prepare the playlist and visuals. Use only audio and visual material you have rights to use for the live transmission and any planned replay. Arrange the playlist in the order you want it played.
- Open YouTube Live Control Room and schedule or create the stream. Select the encoder workflow, then copy the stream key and server details shown for that event into your encoder. Keep the key private: anyone with access to it may be able to send video to the stream.
- Configure the encoder. Select the intended audio and video sources, enter YouTube’s event credentials, and use settings supported by both your encoder and the protocol you selected. The cited YouTube guidance does not establish one universal bitrate, resolution, or keyframe interval for every playlist stream, so use the values YouTube displays for your setup rather than treating a single preset as mandatory.
- Start a private test before the broadcast. Send a short test, check the Live Control Room preview, and confirm that both the playlist audio and visuals reach YouTube as expected. Verify that any local archive files are being written if you are recording a backup.
- Go live and monitor. Watch the preview and stream health, listen for interruptions or unexpected audio, and keep the rights owner’s contact available in case a Content ID interruption occurs.
5. Troubleshoot common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot start a live stream | The channel is not verified or has a live-streaming restriction within the prior 90 days. | Check channel eligibility in YouTube Studio, complete verification if needed, and resolve any restriction before scheduling. |
| The stream shows a placeholder or is interrupted | YouTube detected third-party content, or the rights owner has not allowlisted the channel. | Stop or replace the affected material as appropriate; contact the rights owner about permission and Content ID allowlisting. Do not assume a license alone prevents an interruption. |
| The Live Control Room preview is missing or wrong | The encoder may be using the wrong event credentials, source, or protocol configuration. | Check the stream key and server details against the event in Live Control Room, then verify the encoder’s selected audio/video sources and protocol before trying again. |
| Audio or visuals are poor or absent | The wrong source may be selected, or the signal may not be reaching the encoder or YouTube correctly. | Run another test, inspect the encoder’s source meters and preview, and monitor the YouTube preview before going live. |
| The stream has more delay than expected | The selected protocol may have higher latency; YouTube notes that HLS has higher latency than RTMP. | Check protocol support in your encoder and choose the option that fits your latency needs, using YouTube’s protocol guidance. |
Or let it run in the cloud
For a YouTube-only playlist stream that should continue without a computer running at home, StreamNeo runs uploaded videos from the cloud. The workflow is: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, then go live. It plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting from a camera, and it does not replace the need to clear music rights or arrange any required Content ID allowlisting.
