To stream a looping Malayalam yoga nidra video on YouTube Live, use OBS Studio as an encoder: add your rights-cleared video as a Media Source, enable Loop, connect OBS to a YouTube Live event with its stream key, then start streaming and monitor YouTube Studio. Your channel must be eligible for live streaming, and you should test the picture, narration and repeat point before the session begins.
How do I stream a looping video on YouTube Live?
YouTube Live receives a continuous feed from an encoder; it does not turn an uploaded file into a live broadcast by itself. In this workflow, OBS reads the local video, repeats it, and sends the feed to YouTube. Use a video and audio track you own or are licensed to use for both the live broadcast and any replay you keep.

- Check live-stream eligibility in advance. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. The minimum age to live stream is 16. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned session. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Create or schedule an encoder stream. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream using the encoder workflow. YouTube provides a stream URL and stream key for the connection. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup instructions. Keep the stream key private: anyone with access to it may be able to send video to your stream.
- Configure OBS to repeat the video. Add the appropriate source, select your local file or playlist, and enable its loop option as described below. Arrange the scene to fit the intended frame.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and enter or connect the stream key using OBS’s available connection method. Use YouTube’s stream URL and key if configuring a custom server. YouTube recommends RTMPS for the standard encoder workflow.
- Preview and test. Start the encoder and check the preview in Live Control Room before taking the event live. Listen for audible narration and music, check the framing, and watch for silence or an abrupt cutoff at the loop point. YouTube recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the planned stream and monitoring stream-health messages.
- Start the event and monitor it. When the preview is correct, take the stream live in YouTube Studio if the event requires that step. Keep an eye on stream health and the audio/video presentation during the broadcast.
- End the broadcast deliberately. Stop the stream from OBS when the session is over, then review the replay and its rights or claims status before sharing it. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived.

One video file: Media Source
- In the OBS scene, add a Media Source and select the local video file.
- In the source properties, enable Loop. OBS will restart the file after playback ends. The option is documented in the OBS Media Sources guide.
- Preview the full frame and listen through the end and start of the file. Adjust the scene or source framing if the video does not fill the intended layout.
Several files: VLC Video source
For a sequence of videos, add an OBS VLC Video source, select the playlist files and enable Loop Playlist. VLC must be installed for this source type to be available. Check the transition between files as well as the final-to-first repeat; a playlist loop does not guarantee a smooth visual or audio transition.

Which stream settings should I use?
Choose settings from YouTube’s current encoder guidance that your actual upload connection can sustain; do not select a bitrate solely because it is the highest available. YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR) and a keyframe interval of 2 seconds, and says not to exceed 4 seconds. Its streaming tips recommend leaving 20% upload-bandwidth headroom.
- Protocol: Prefer RTMPS for the standard encoder workflow. YouTube also supports HLS for workflows that need it, but HLS has higher latency.
- Resolution and bitrate: Match these to YouTube’s current encoder table and a real upload-speed test at the location and time you will stream. A speed test is an estimate, not a guarantee of sustained performance.
- Keyframes and rate control: Set a 2-second keyframe interval and CBR as recommended by YouTube; do not set the interval above 4 seconds.
- Audio and motion test: Test using representative narration, music and video movement, then monitor YouTube’s stream-health messages after sending the feed.

Can I stream a prerecorded video as a YouTube Live broadcast?
Yes. OBS can send a prerecorded local file as the live encoder feed, and its loop control can repeat that file. The broadcast is still subject to YouTube’s live-streaming rules and copyright checks. A technically continuous feed does not make the underlying content original, licensed, or eligible for monetization.

Can I use music in a live yoga nidra stream?
Use music and visuals you own or have permission to use for the live broadcast and, if you retain it, the archived replay. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content matches. A match can produce a warning or placeholder and interrupt or terminate the broadcast. Even licensed third-party content can be interrupted if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. After the live stream ends, Content ID claims may also be made against its archive. Verify that your license covers live streaming, relevant territories and the replay; permission for one use does not necessarily cover the others. Read YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.

Does looping affect YouTube monetization?
Looping is a playback setting, not a monetization guarantee. YouTube’s channel monetization policy applies to live streams and may make highly repetitive or mass-produced content ineligible, including content with little variation and little educational or other value. A useful, original yoga nidra session is not automatically eligible just because it is a meditation or wellness video; YouTube assesses the channel under its policy. The policy page notes a July 15, 2025 clarification and renaming of “repetitious content” as “inauthentic content.” Review YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
Common problems and fixes
- You cannot start a live stream: Check channel verification, any live-stream restriction in the prior 90 days, and whether initial activation has completed. First-time enablement can take up to 24 hours.
- The video stops instead of repeating: Reopen the Media Source properties and confirm Loop is enabled. For a playlist, confirm Loop Playlist is enabled on a VLC Video source and that VLC is installed.
- YouTube does not receive the feed: Confirm OBS is using the stream key and stream URL for the intended event, and check the encoder connection in Live Control Room. If you suspect the key was exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update OBS.
- Stream health shows connection trouble: Reduce the selected bitrate or resolution to a level the upload connection can sustain, then leave YouTube’s recommended 20% bandwidth headroom. Check YouTube’s encoder table rather than guessing at a target bitrate.
- Audio is silent, clipped or awkward at the repeat: Preview the source in OBS, check the intended audio track and levels, and listen across the end-to-start transition before going live.
- The broadcast is interrupted by a copyright notice: Check the live control-room warning and the rights status of the matching audio or visuals. A license may not prevent interruption if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID.
