YouTube Live must be enabled for your channel, the computer needs a stable upload connection, and you need permission to broadcast all video and audio in the recording.
Choose a phone-free streaming setup
YouTube supports live streams from an encoder, a mobile device, or a webcam. For this phone-free workflow, use encoder software on a computer you already have if it can play the recording and maintain a reliable upload connection. OBS can loop a local media file. YouTube also recognizes standalone encoder hardware, but the steps below use OBS; the available guidance does not establish a need to buy dedicated hardware.

This method depends on that computer and its connection staying available while the stream runs. If the stream must continue when your computer is off, see StreamNeo, the cloud option described below.
Prepare YouTube Live before stream day
- Check channel eligibility and activation. YouTube’s computer-streaming guidance says your channel must be verified and must not have live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. If you have never enabled live streaming, activation can take up to 24 hours, according to YouTube Help (accessed 2026; publication date not stated on the retrieved page). Set this up in advance. YouTube: Get started with live streaming.
- Create or schedule an encoder stream. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream using an encoder. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that stream. The key is a credential that directs your encoder’s feed to the selected YouTube stream, so handle it like a password: do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the broadcast. YouTube: Set up your encoder for live streaming.
- Enter the connection details in OBS. Open OBS’s stream settings, select YouTube or a custom streaming service as appropriate for the current OBS interface, and enter the stream URL and key from Live Control Room. Labels can change between software versions, so confirm the fields in your installed version rather than pasting the key into a public-facing title or description.
Set up the Hindi yoga nidra recording to loop in OBS
- Create a scene. In OBS, add a scene for the live session. A simple still image, title card, or the recording’s own visuals can accompany the audio, provided you have permission to use them.
- Add the local recording. In the scene’s Sources panel, add a Media Source and select the recording stored on the computer. OBS documents support for common formats including MP4, MOV, MKV, MP3, AAC, OGG, and WAV; the available sources do not establish that a particular file will play correctly on your computer, so test your actual file.
- Enable looping. Open the Media Source properties and select Loop. Start playback and let the file reach its end during a test to confirm it starts again as intended. For a sequence of multiple recordings, OBS’s VLC Video source can loop a playlist, but VLC must be installed on the computer. OBS: Media Sources.
- Check audio routing. Speak or play the recording during a private test and confirm the expected audio source reaches the stream. Keep the computer’s playback level and OBS audio controls at a level that is clear and not clipping. Do not assume that a visible video preview means the recording’s audio is also reaching YouTube.
Choose encoder quality and check the connection
Set output quality to match the available upload connection and the source recording. YouTube’s general encoder guidance recommends RTMPS, H.264 video, constant bitrate encoding, and a keyframe interval of two seconds; it says not to exceed four seconds. Its audio guidance recommends 128 Kbps stereo audio. These are YouTube recommendations for encoder settings, not a guarantee that a particular connection or file will work. - Rapid Extension Tripod for Phone: Glide the rod in a single, fluid motion to convert it from a compact tripod into a full 62" selfie stick. Achieve instant elevation for dynamic filming.

- Hands-Free Control: The Wireless remote enables instant pairing with smartphone and remote capture from up to 33ft/10m. Ensures rock-solid stability for blur-free photography and Start/Stop video recordings effortlessly—all without device contact.
- Test upload capacity rather than choosing a bitrate based only on the source file’s resolution. Leave capacity for normal network variation and other devices using the connection.
- Use a representative test with the actual audio and visuals. A mostly still meditation image may use little visual motion, but it does not make an unstable upload connection reliable.
- Open the Live Control Room preview before the public stream begins. Check the audio, picture, stream health, and any warnings YouTube displays.
Run a full test before announcing the live session
- Start the OBS scene you intend to broadcast and verify that the correct recording is selected.
- Start the encoder feed and check the Live Control Room preview. Follow YouTube’s setup guidance by beginning encoder setup ahead of a scheduled event, rather than waiting until the announced start time.
- Listen to the stream audio and inspect the picture. Watch the recording reach the end and confirm looping behaves as expected.
- Monitor stream health during the test. If the feed buffers or drops, reduce output demands or address the upload connection before relying on it for a longer session.
- For a long or unattended broadcast, decide who will monitor the computer, network, and stream. In this local-computer setup, the stream depends on the machine and connection remaining operational.
YouTube’s encoder setup and monitoring guidance is at YouTube Help.
Confirm rights to the complete recording
Before going live, confirm that you have permission to broadcast every element of the session, including the spoken guidance, background music, images, and any other included material. Being prerecorded, made for meditation, or available online does not by itself establish rebroadcast permission.

YouTube also says that licensed third-party content may still be interrupted unless the rights holder adds the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Fix common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot start an encoder stream | Live streaming is not enabled, the channel is not verified, or the channel has a restriction. | Check YouTube Live eligibility and activation in advance. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours. |
| OBS connects to the wrong stream or does not connect | The stream URL or key is incorrect, stale, or belongs to another Live Control Room stream. | Copy the URL and key for the intended stream from YouTube Studio and update OBS’s stream settings. Keep the key private. |
| The recording plays once and stops | Loop is not enabled on the Media Source, or a playlist source is not configured to repeat. | Reopen source properties, enable Loop, then test through the end of the file. For a VLC playlist source, verify VLC is installed. |
| The preview has video but no audible session | The source has no audio, playback is muted, or audio is not reaching the OBS output. | Play the recording in OBS and inspect the audio controls and Live Control Room preview. Confirm the chosen file itself contains the expected audio. |
| The stream buffers or reports poor health | The upload connection may not sustain the selected output bitrate or may be fluctuating. | Test upload capacity, check other network use, lower output demands if needed, and repeat a representative test while monitoring stream health. |
| The live feed is interrupted for a content match | YouTube may have detected third-party material in the recording. | Confirm broadcast rights for the full recording. If content is licensed, ask the rights holder about adding your channel to its Content ID allowlist. |
