You can send a Hindi devotional program to YouTube through MediaMTX by publishing an audio-and-video stream to a MediaMTX path with FFmpeg, then forwarding that path to YouTube’s current RTMPS ingest address. The documented FFmpeg loop repeats one file indefinitely; rotating through multiple bhajans or other recordings requires a separate playlist source. A looping command alone does not guarantee an uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast.
How the MediaMTX-to-YouTube setup works
The chain has two stages: FFmpeg publishes a media stream to a MediaMTX path, and MediaMTX forwards that path to YouTube Live. MediaMTX documents FFmpeg as an RTMP publishing client and makes the stream available under the path named in the publishing URL (RTMP clients). Its forwarding configuration uses an RTMPS destination and the YouTube stream key (Forward streams).

For devotional audio, the outgoing program still needs a video track. MediaMTX warns that YouTube requires both audio and video and silently rejects video-only streams. A still image can serve as the visual, provided the stream actually carries a video track (Forward streams).

Choose the program format
The published example uses an MP4 file and copies its existing codecs. That is suitable only if the source codecs and container work across the complete FFmpeg–MediaMTX–YouTube path; the example does not establish compatibility for every file. Confirm that the source produces both audio and video in the outgoing program.
#1 Best Overall
The example below repeats a single file. A playlist of different bhajans, aarti, or other devotional recordings needs a separate playlist-capable source or process that outputs one continuous audio/video stream. The MediaMTX example does not specify playlist formats, transitions, metadata behavior, or restart position.
Get the current YouTube destination and key
In YouTube’s live-stream controls, obtain the ingest destination and stream key for the broadcast. Use the current values shown for your account: MediaMTX notes that its example ingest address may change. Treat the key as a secret; do not expose it in screenshots, public configuration, or logs shared publicly.

Run this documented MediaMTX example, replacing
file.mp4with the source path andmystreamwith the path you intend to forward:ffmpeg -re -stream_loop -1 -i file.mp4 -c copy -f flv rtmp://localhost:1935/mystream-stream_loop -1repeats the input indefinitely;-rereads it at its native rate.-c copyavoids re-encoding, but only works when the codecs are accepted by the full ingest path. This is a one-file loop, not a directory playlist. See MediaMTX’s FFmpeg publishing example. -
Check that the MediaMTX path is receiving the stream before relying on forwarding. MediaMTX’s basic usage guide documents publishing and reading a stream as a local diagnostic pattern.
Forward the MediaMTX path to YouTube
Add a forward entry to the MediaMTX path configuration. This shows the documented shape only; substitute the current RTMPS ingest URL and stream key from YouTube, and ensure the configured path corresponds to the path receiving FFmpeg’s stream.
paths:
mystream:
forward:
- dest: rtmps://CURRENT_YOUTUBE_INGEST_URL#STREAM_KEY
Do not use the placeholder destination or key literally. The RTMPS scheme and # separator follow MediaMTX’s forwarding example; YouTube’s current live controls are authoritative for the values to use. Consult the MediaMTX forwarding documentation for configuration details.
Test the outgoing broadcast before leaving it live

Verify the correct key and current ingest destination are configured if YouTube does not receive the stream.

For a multi-track playlist, test the playlist source separately for continuous output and transitions; the single-file loop does not validate those behaviors.
Plan for continuous operation and rights
The FFmpeg loop keeps repeating its input while the process runs, but it does not provide process supervision, crash recovery, monitoring, host uptime, or network continuity. For a true 24/7 deployment, plan how the host and network will stay available, how the publishing and forwarding processes will be restarted after failure, and how you will detect an interruption. The cited examples do not promise uninterrupted operation.
Confirm you have the necessary rights for every sound recording, composition, image, and video in the program before streaming. No particular devotional recording is automatically cleared for use simply because it is religious content.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you would rather not keep a home computer running, StreamNeo runs an uploaded-video YouTube stream from the cloud. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It keeps looping when your computer is off, automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream, and streams uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot. The first day is free with no card. Monthly service is $9.99 per month.
