To keep a 24/7 YouTube music stream from repeating tracks too soon, set the song order in a playback or scheduling tool that supports your rule, then send its continuous output to YouTube Live through an encoder. YouTube’s playlist loop repeats the playlist; the official YouTube guidance cited here does not document a YouTube Live setting that plays every song once before any repeat.
Where the no-repeat rule belongs
Think of the setup as two separate jobs: your player or scheduler decides which track plays next, and an encoder sends the resulting audio or audio-video feed to YouTube Live. An encoder handles the broadcast connection; it does not, by itself, determine song order.

First decide what “no repeat” means for your channel. You might mean no duplicate audio file, no alternate version of a recording, or no repeat of the same composition. You also need to choose whether the order is fixed, shuffled without replacement until the library is exhausted, or rotated after every track has played. Choose a playback or automation tool only after confirming that it can enforce your specific rule. YouTube’s official encoder guide describes broadcast options, not song-level deduplication. YouTube’s encoder guide also mentions cloud-based services for 24/7 prerecorded-video streams, but that is not proof of a particular service’s track-level repeat controls.

- Prepare and check your library. Organize the audio files and remove duplicates according to your chosen definition. Make a test queue and verify what happens when the last unique track finishes, when a track fails to load, and when playback restarts. Do not assume shuffle means “shuffle without replacement”; confirm the tool’s documented behavior.
- Create or select an encoder stream. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or select a stream for encoder-based streaming. Copy the server URL and stream key into your encoder. Treat the stream key like a password: anyone who has it may be able to broadcast to your channel. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup guide.
- Connect the playback output to the encoder. Configure the encoder to capture the audio and any visual element you intend to broadcast, then send the feed to YouTube. YouTube supports software and hardware encoders; its guide identifies LiveU Solo as a verified encoder and mentions Gyre for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming. Neither identification establishes that the product guarantees unique song playback, so check the scheduler’s current controls directly.
- Match stream settings to your source and connection. Use YouTube’s current live encoder settings for supported protocols, codecs, frame rates, and bitrate recommendations. Match the selected settings to your encoder and available upload bandwidth; do not set a bitrate your connection cannot sustain. Test the actual feed and check YouTube’s stream-health indicators before treating the broadcast as stable.
- Verify ordering during a test broadcast. Watch the player or queue through enough tracks to confirm that no repeats occur before the library completes and that the intended reset or rotation happens afterward. Check again after a reconnect or restart: some tools may resume from a queue position while others restart the playlist.
- Keep a separate recording if you need an archive. YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. A 24/7 stream exceeds that threshold, so keep your own recording if you need a dependable archive rather than relying on YouTube’s automatic capture. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.
Choose an operating setup that can stay live
The basic options are a software encoder running on a computer, a hardware encoder, or a cloud streaming service. Compare them on whether they can run continuously, accept your playback feed, reconnect after interruptions, and expose a queue or verifiable no-repeat rule. These are distinct capabilities: a cloud or hardware encoder may keep a broadcast online without providing the track scheduling behavior you need.

- Computer and software encoder: useful when you want direct control of the playback and encoding setup, but the computer, power, network connection, and software must remain available for the stream to continue.
- Hardware or cloud encoder: can provide an alternative broadcast path, but verify its input requirements, recovery behavior, and whether its associated playback or scheduling layer enforces your exact no-repeat rule. YouTube’s references do not compare these options’ song-order features.
Copyright and live-stream interruptions
Only stream music for which you have the necessary rights. YouTube’s livestream terms require the rights needed to exploit the live content worldwide, including applicable music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. That is YouTube’s contractual requirement; it does not determine which licenses a particular creator needs in every country. Read YouTube’s livestream terms and obtain advice appropriate to your rights and territory when needed.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a match, it may warn you, and if the material remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. YouTube advises creators who have licensed third-party material to ask the rights owner to allowlist their channel through Content ID; a license alone may not prevent an interruption if the channel is not allowlisted. See YouTube’s guidance on live-stream third-party content.

Troubleshoot repeats and stream failures
- A track repeats before the library is complete: check whether the player uses ordinary shuffle, shuffle with replacement, or a repeat-one/repeat-all setting. Replace it with a verified shuffle-without-replacement or fixed-rotation mode if available.
- The same song appears under another filename: filename checks will not catch alternate encodes, remasters, or versions. Decide whether those count as repeats and audit the library by recording or composition as appropriate.
- The queue resets after a reconnect: test how the playback system resumes after a network or encoder interruption. If it restarts from the beginning, look for a persistent queue or resume-position option, or use a scheduler that documents that behavior.
- YouTube receives no signal or reports poor stream health: confirm that the encoder has the correct server URL and stream key, that its output settings match YouTube’s current recommendations, and that upload bandwidth is sufficient. Check the encoder’s connection state and YouTube’s Live Control Room health information.
- The stream is interrupted despite having licensed music: check for a YouTube warning or Content ID match and contact the rights owner about allowlisting the channel, as YouTube recommends. A stream interruption is not, by itself, proof that you lack a license.
- You cannot find an automatic archive of the 24/7 broadcast: YouTube says a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. Use a separate recording process for material you must retain.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo keeps an uploaded-video YouTube stream running from the cloud, so no computer or home connection has to stay on. To use it, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Its playlist setup should still be checked for the exact no-repeat order you need; do not assume an encoder or cloud host provides song-level deduplication unless its controls verify that behavior.
