To run a 24/7 YouTube Live channel of new-home model tours, prepare tour footage you have the rights to use, confirm your channel is eligible to livestream, then send a continuous feed to YouTube using a streaming method suited to your production. For prerecorded tours, you can build a looping playlist or use a cloud service that plays uploaded videos; for camera-led tours, use a live production workflow. YouTube documents its streaming prerequisites and the distinction between the incoming feed and the viewer-facing broadcast, but it does not guarantee an uninterrupted 24/7 schedule.
Decide what the channel will show
First determine whether each tour is prerecorded, streamed live from a camera, or provided by a builder or another rights holder. This choice affects both production and permissions. A prerecorded tour can be arranged into a looping program; a live camera feed needs a camera and a streaming setup that remains active. If footage or audio comes from someone else, obtain permission for both the material and its use in a continuous livestream.

Plan the viewing experience
- Choose the tours and their order, and decide whether the program should repeat the same sequence or be updated as new homes are added.
- Decide whether to include narration, labels, floor-plan graphics, pricing information, or other overlays. Verify that any claims shown about a home are current and approved for publication.
- Use music only when you have rights that cover livestreaming. Music licensed for another context may still trigger YouTube’s live-content checks.
- Decide who will monitor the channel and how the feed will be restored if the encoder, connection, or YouTube stream stops.
Check YouTube Live eligibility and content rights
YouTube requires a channel to be verified and not to have had live-streaming restrictions during the preceding 90 days. Check eligibility before scheduling a launch; YouTube’s Get started with live streaming page explains the prerequisites and available methods.

For a channel that uses builder-provided footage, get written permission that covers the footage, any music or other included material, and continuous YouTube livestreaming. A license alone may not prevent a Content ID interruption; where relevant, ask the rights holder about allowlisting your channel.
Choose a streaming method for the footage
YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder, and console streaming methods. For a planned program of model tours, choose by the kind of input and production control you need rather than assuming one method fits every channel. YouTube notes that encoders are commonly used for streams with overlays and hardware such as preamps, microphones, and cameras. Its guidance does not identify a best device or software for this particular use case.

For a computer-based encoder workflow, the computer and connection are part of the operating system: if either stops, the outgoing feed can stop. You may also use a dedicated hardware encoder, but YouTube’s guidance does not make one necessary for every channel.
Set up the YouTube feed and broadcast
YouTube’s Live Streaming API distinguishes two linked objects: a liveStream, which represents the incoming video feed, and a liveBroadcast, which is the broadcast viewers watch. The API guide also describes linking a stream and broadcast in a scenario where “the 24/7 broadcast continues.” These are useful concepts whether you operate through YouTube Studio or software using the API; they are not a promise of uninterrupted service. - Confirm eligibility. Verify the channel and check that it has no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days.
- Select the streaming route. Choose an available YouTube method and prepare the camera, encoder, or other source that matches your tour format.
- Create or select the broadcast. Use YouTube’s live workflow to create the viewer-facing broadcast and obtain the corresponding stream details for your chosen method.
- Connect the incoming feed. Enter the stream key or other stream details in the encoder or service you are using. Treat the key as private: anyone with access may be able to send a feed to the channel.
- Link and start the feed. Confirm that the incoming video appears as expected before making the broadcast public. The exact controls depend on whether you use YouTube Studio, an encoder, or an API-based integration.
- Check the viewer experience. Open the public watch page and confirm that the correct tour, audio, overlays, and broadcast status are visible.
YouTube’s LiveStreams documentation describes CDN settings such as ingestion type and primary and backup stream URLs. These are configuration options, not a guarantee that a backup will take over automatically or that the broadcast will remain online.
Build a continuous prerecorded-tour workflow
If the channel’s goal is to play prerecorded model tours around the clock, the crucial piece is the system that keeps supplying video after one tour ends. YouTube’s platform documentation explains feed and broadcast concepts, but does not prescribe a complete playlist-automation process. The behavior depends on your encoder or streaming software and on how the video files are supplied.

- Prepare the tour library. Keep approved final versions in a known location and maintain a playlist order. Check that the audio and picture work from start to finish.
- Configure playback. In the chosen software or service, set the files to play in sequence and repeat as intended. Confirm that the final item transitions back to the first without a long gap or a premature end to the outgoing feed.
- Send the output to YouTube. Use the stream details associated with the intended broadcast. Test privately or with an appropriate audience setting before relying on the workflow for a public schedule.
- Observe a full cycle. Watch the transition between tours, check for blank or frozen output, confirm audio levels, and verify that the public watch page remains active.
- Plan for intervention. Decide who receives alerts, can inspect the feed, and can restart the source or reconnect it when a failure occurs. A 24/7 schedule is an operating goal, not a platform uptime guarantee.
If you run multiple tour feeds concurrently, YouTube Help’s current guidance reviewed in 2026 says a channel can have up to 10 active streams and a stream key up to 3 active streams; both limits apply. See YouTube’s live-streaming guidance before designing a multi-feed arrangement.
