You can stream recorded lessons on YouTube Live around the clock by sending them through an encoder: either run streaming software on a computer or use a cloud service that plays uploaded videos. Before going live, make sure the channel is eligible, connect YouTube Studio to the encoder with the stream key, test the preview and stream health, and clear rights for everything in the recordings. A 24/7 broadcast also needs a replay plan: YouTube automatically archives streams under 12 hours, so do not assume one uninterrupted day-long stream will produce a complete archive.
Check that the channel is ready for livestreaming
YouTube requires a verified channel with no livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time livestream activation can take up to 24 hours, so check well before the intended launch. YouTube’s current general guidance sets the minimum age for livestreaming at 16. See YouTube’s livestreaming requirements and encoder setup guidance.

If the channel is not eligible or activation is still pending, resolve that before preparing a launch schedule; an encoder cannot bypass YouTube’s channel requirements.

Choose how to keep the recorded lessons playing
There are two practical operating models: run an encoder locally, or have a cloud service send uploaded recordings to YouTube. YouTube’s encoder directory lists OBS as open-source software available at no charge and lists Gyre as a cloud-based option for 24/7 prerecorded streams. StreamNeo describes its own cloud service for looping uploaded videos and playlists. Vendor feature claims are not independent reliability tests.

| Consideration | Local encoder | Cloud playback |
|---|---|---|
| What sends the stream | Software or hardware encoder connected to YouTube. | A vendor-operated service sends uploaded files to YouTube. |
| Equipment | A computer is relevant when using software such as OBS. | StreamNeo says the computer need not remain on. |
| Control and dependencies | Direct control over the encoder and production setup; the computer and internet connection must remain available. | Convenient for unattended file loops and remote operation, but depends on the service as well as YouTube. |
| Reliability checks | Test the computer, connection, stream health, and recovery plan. | Check the service’s capabilities and recovery behavior; a vendor claim is not an uptime guarantee. |
| Cost | Depends on equipment, electricity, and connectivity. | Check current plan, storage, and renewal terms with the provider. |
YouTube’s encoder directory lists OBS and Gyre. The product descriptions for cloud services should be checked directly before choosing.
Set up a local encoder and start the stream
- Prepare the lesson playlist. Put the recordings in the intended order and confirm that their audio and video play correctly. If the lessons are meant to loop, decide where the sequence begins again and how transitions should work.
- Create or schedule the broadcast. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live. Create a stream or schedule one in Manage. A scheduled stream can be promoted, and viewers can receive reminders. Complete this setup early, especially if livestreaming has not previously been enabled on the channel. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
- Connect the encoder. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, copy the server URL and stream key into the encoder’s stream settings. Treat the key as a password: anyone with it may be able to send a stream to the channel. Do not share or publish it.
- Set the video and connection parameters. Match the encoder’s resolution, frame rate, and bitrate to the lesson files and the available upload connection. Use YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance for the appropriate settings. YouTube recommends RTMPS, which encrypts the connection to Google’s servers.
- Run a representative test. Test the internet connection, then send a preflight broadcast that includes typical lesson audio and movement. Check the preview in Live Control Room and wait for it to appear before taking the stream live.
- Go live and monitor. Watch stream health and any messages in Live Control Room while the broadcast runs. Keep a plan for what to do if the computer, internet connection, or encoder stops.
Do not choose a bitrate solely because it is listed for a target resolution: the actual connection must sustain the outgoing stream. YouTube recommends testing with the available upload connection and monitoring stream health during the broadcast.

Plan recordings and replays for a continuous channel
YouTube automatically archives streams under 12 hours. That does not mean a single uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast will be preserved as one complete replay. Decide in advance whether to restart the broadcast on a schedule, publish lesson recordings separately, or use another replay workflow. Make sure any restart plan includes time to reconnect the encoder and confirm the next preview.
Clear rights and understand YouTube’s policies
Rights for each part of a lesson
Confirm that the channel has the necessary rights to the lesson recording, slides, images, music, and embedded clips. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches and may replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. For licensed third-party material, YouTube says the rights holder may need to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Its guidance on copyright issues with live streams explains the platform’s process.

YouTube’s livestream terms require necessary rights for exploitation worldwide and compliance with applicable laws. They do not determine whether a particular Indian institution or creator has permission to use specific lesson material. Seek guidance from the rights holder or a qualified legal adviser where that is uncertain.
Monetization is a separate decision
Streaming lessons continuously does not itself make a channel eligible for monetization or guarantee that ads will appear. YouTube says the content it reviews should be original and authentic, and its monetization policy applies to livestreams. Present the lessons with appropriate educational context and rights rather than assuming that putting recorded material on a live stream makes it eligible. See YouTube’s channel monetization policies and live monetization guidance.

YouTube reported an average uplift of over 20% in instream ad revenue per hour for channels that enabled automatic live mid-rolls compared with channels that did not. This was a platform-wide average across 207 countries in January 2024, not a forecast or promise for an individual channel.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsOr let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is the first option to consider when the aim is unattended looping of prerecorded lessons: it runs from the cloud, supports uploaded video at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and offers a first day free.

Quick Recap
Troubleshoot common setup problems
- Go Live is unavailable: confirm channel verification, check for a livestream restriction in the previous 90 days, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- The encoder does not connect: check that the server URL and stream key were copied correctly, that the key has not been changed, and that the encoder is using the intended connection settings. Keep the key private.
- The preview is missing or unhealthy: wait for the encoder signal in Live Control Room, check the connection and encoder output, and reduce settings if the available upload connection cannot sustain them. Use YouTube’s stream health messages to diagnose the issue.
- The stream is interrupted or replaced: check for third-party content matches in the lesson audio or video and resolve rights issues. A license alone may not prevent an interruption if the rights holder has not allowlisted the channel in Content ID.
- The 24-hour replay is incomplete: streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; plan a restart schedule or separate replay workflow rather than relying on one uninterrupted day-long archive.
- Ads or monetization do not appear: live status does not establish channel eligibility or guarantee ad delivery. Review the channel’s eligibility and YouTube’s policies.
