You can stream recorded bhajans around the clock by looping rights-cleared media in OBS and sending its output to a YouTube Live broadcast. Before you build the stream, confirm that the channel can go live and that you have permission for every recording and visual. Then test the loop, connection and local recording; a 24/7 YouTube archive is not guaranteed.
Before you start: check channel access and prepare the bhajans
Confirm YouTube Live is available
In YouTube Studio, check that the channel is verified, live streaming is enabled and there is no live-streaming restriction. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance says a channel must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. If access is unavailable, resolve that before setting up OBS; an encoder cannot bypass a channel restriction.

Clear the rights to the actual recordings
Make a rights checklist for every audio and visual item in the broadcast. A traditional bhajan composition does not automatically make a modern performance, arrangement, accompaniment or sound recording free to use. Obtain permissions that cover the relevant composition, recording and performers, the territories where the stream will be available, and any archive or replay use. Keep written records.
YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the creator to have the necessary rights for live content, including music licensing rights. If a rights holder uses Content ID, ask whether your channel must be allowlisted before you go live. A license alone may not prevent a live interruption if the rights holder has not approved the channel for Content ID.

Build and test the looping program in OBS
Prepare a source and visual scene
Install and open OBS on the computer that will run the broadcast. Add the recorded bhajan media as a source, or configure a playlist if your installed version and chosen source support the sequence you need. Set the source or playlist to repeat, and add a simple visual scene if you want the live picture to show an image or other permitted visual while the audio plays.
OBS controls can vary by version and source type, so confirm the media-source or playlist repeat controls in the version you have installed rather than relying on a menu path that may not match your setup. Play the entire sequence before going live: confirm that the audio is routed to the stream, the intended files play in order, the loop restarts, and there is no unwanted silent gap. If the source ends rather than repeating, viewers may see or hear an unintended result even though YouTube still shows a live broadcast.

Choose stream settings that suit the source and connection
Use OBS’s stream settings for the YouTube encoder destination and select a resolution and bitrate your upload connection can sustain continuously. The right values depend on the video resolution, frame rate, encoder and network; there is no single bitrate suitable for every computer and connection. Keep the stream stable rather than choosing settings that cause dropped frames or buffering. Match the output to the material when practical, and check YouTube’s current encoder recommendations in Live Control Room before setting a bitrate or keyframe interval. This guide does not prescribe numeric OBS values because the available evidence does not establish a current setting for your particular source and encoder.
Create the YouTube broadcast and connect OBS
- Create or schedule the broadcast: In YouTube Studio, create an encoder broadcast or schedule one. Set its title, description, audience designation and visibility. Choose moderation settings appropriate for the channel and its viewers.
- Choose latency and DVR: Select a latency option based on how much real-time chat interaction matters. Lower latency can increase viewer playback buffering. Enable DVR if viewers should be able to pause or rewind the live stream.
- Copy the encoder details: YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room provides a stream URL and stream key for the broadcast. Enter those details in OBS’s streaming connection settings. Treat the stream key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a stream to your channel. Reset it if it is exposed.
- Check the preview before going public: Start the encoder from OBS, then confirm in Live Control Room that YouTube receives the picture and audio and that the stream health is acceptable. Check that the bhajan is playing and repeating as expected. Start or schedule the public broadcast using the controls and visibility you selected in Studio.
Keep a 24/7 stream running and protect the recordings
Plan for power, internet and recovery
With a local OBS setup, the computer, OBS process, power and internet connection all need to stay available. A shutdown, restart, software failure or network interruption can stop the feed. Test what happens after a temporary network loss and a computer restart before relying on the setup. Monitor the stream and have a recovery plan for restarting the encoder and broadcast if they do not resume automatically.

Keep a separate archive
YouTube says live streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. For a continuous broadcast, do not treat the YouTube replay as your only copy. Make a local recording or another backup, and plan where recordings will be stored, how files will be rotated, and how much storage is available. YouTube recommends a local backup for this reason.
Copyright checks, interruptions and monetization
What can happen when YouTube detects a match
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A detected match may cause a warning and placeholder image; if the matched material continues, the broadcast may be interrupted or terminated. If a stream is archived, YouTube says Content ID claims are made after the stream ends. Check the stream and the resulting archive’s copyright status separately, and address a claim through the appropriate rights process rather than assuming that a live broadcast’s completion means the content is cleared.

Copyright permission and monetization are separate
Having permission to use recordings does not guarantee monetization. YouTube’s monetization policies apply to live content, and channel-level eligibility and review still matter. On July 15, 2025, YouTube renamed “repetitious content” as “inauthentic content” and clarified that repetitive or mass-produced material can be ineligible under its originality policy. Reused content is assessed separately for meaningful original commentary, substantial modification, or educational or entertainment value. A playlist that repeats recordings does not automatically meet those requirements.

Troubleshoot common failures
- You cannot start a live broadcast: Check verification, live-stream access and any restriction on the channel. Resolve the eligibility issue in YouTube Studio before troubleshooting OBS.
- YouTube receives no signal: Confirm OBS is using the stream URL and key for the intended broadcast, that the encoder has been started, and that the computer has an internet connection. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and update OBS with the replacement.
- The preview has video but no bhajan audio: Check that the media source is playing and that its audio reaches OBS’s stream mix. Test the source and output before going public; a visible scene does not establish that viewers are receiving sound.
- The music stops after one pass: Recheck the repeat or playlist behavior for the specific OBS source and version. Run a full-cycle test and confirm the transition back to the first item is not silent or stalled.
- Viewers report buffering or a degraded stream: Check stream health and dropped frames in OBS and Live Control Room. Reduce output demands or improve the upload connection if the current settings cannot be sustained; lower latency may also increase buffering.
- The stream is interrupted after a copyright warning: Treat it as a rights or Content ID issue. Confirm permission for the exact recording and ask the rights holder whether the channel needs to be allowlisted. Do not assume that a traditional composition clears a particular recording.
- The broadcast stopped after a power or network failure: Restore the computer and connection, then check whether OBS and the YouTube broadcast resumed. Follow the recovery plan you tested; do not assume that every interruption reconnects automatically.
- The YouTube replay is missing or incomplete: A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured. Use the separate local recording or backup rather than relying on an automatic archive.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you do not want a home computer and connection to carry the stream continuously, StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for uploaded recordings. Upload the bhajans, add your YouTube stream key, and go live; it loops the uploaded video from the cloud. Nothing has to stay on at home, and YouTube is the supported destination—not other streaming platforms.
- Each slot streams the uploaded file as made, up to 4K at 60 fps, at one flat price per slot rather than quality tiers.
- It includes 10 GB of storage per slot, pooled across active slots, plus 24/7 looping, playlists and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card, with one free day per account. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month; other billing lengths are available. UPI and cards work in India, and card checkout is available worldwide.
Using a hosted service does not remove your responsibility to clear the music and visuals or ensure the channel meets YouTube’s rules. See StreamNeo for service details, or start the free first day.
