You can run Tamil-language pre-recorded programming as a YouTube Live stream by sending it through an encoder connected to YouTube Studio with your stream URL and stream key. YouTube does not give blanket advance approval for every 24/7 prerecorded format: your channel must be eligible, the content must comply with YouTube policies, and you must have the necessary rights. For a continuous schedule without leaving a computer running, a cloud service such as StreamNeo is another option.
What you need before starting
- A verified YouTube channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube’s general live-streaming guidance also sets a minimum age of 16. Check the channel’s status in YouTube Studio before planning a launch. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance has the current requirements.
- Pre-recorded video and audio that you have the rights to stream, including music and other material embedded in the videos.
- An encoder capable of playing or scheduling your files continuously. It may be software on a computer, optional hardware, or a hosted service. YouTube documents the encoder workflow, but does not certify every vendor or unattended looping setup.
- A reliable upload connection and a plan for monitoring and recovering the feed.
Tamil affects the stream’s presentation, not the encoder connection: YouTube’s documented workflow does not specify a separate Tamil encoder mode. Prepare accurate Tamil titles and descriptions, legible Tamil text in graphics, and subtitles if useful. Preview the rendered script and fonts before making the stream public.

Set up the YouTube Live connection
- Open YouTube Studio and create or schedule a stream. Go to the Live Control Room and create a stream or schedule one. Follow YouTube’s current encoder setup instructions for the selected workflow.
- Copy the connection details. Copy the stream server URL and stream key from YouTube Studio into the corresponding streaming settings in your encoder. Treat the key as a credential: anyone with access to it may be able to broadcast to your channel. Do not expose it in screenshots or share it unnecessarily; reset it if compromised.
- Configure the prerecorded playlist. Select the files and playback order in your encoder or service, and configure the playlist to repeat if that is how you want the channel to run. Check that playback continues at the end of the list and that audio is present throughout. YouTube’s encoder workflow explains how to connect a feed; the reviewed official guidance does not prescribe one universal looping interface.
- Choose sustainable video settings. Match resolution and frame rate to the source and to the upload capacity you can sustain. YouTube’s live encoder settings guidance covers supported protocols and codecs, including RTMP/RTMPS and H.264, H.265, or AV1, and gives bitrate recommendations by resolution and frame rate. Use RTMPS for encrypted delivery where supported. Do not choose a bitrate just because the source file is high quality; your connection must sustain the outgoing bitrate continuously.
- Send a test feed and inspect it in Studio. Start the encoder, wait for the feed to appear in the Live Control Room, and review the preview and stream health. Check both picture and audio, including Tamil text, subtitles, and any transitions between files.
- Go live and verify the public watch page. Use the Studio workflow to start the event, then confirm the stream can be watched on your channel. Keep the Live Control Room available for monitoring.
Plan the schedule around YouTube’s 12-hour archive limit
A live schedule that runs continuously and a complete replay are separate goals. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but warns on its Archive live streams page: “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” Do not rely on one 24-hour broadcast to produce a complete replay.

- If preserving a replay matters, record a local archive and verify that the recording is usable.
- Consider ending and restarting the live event in segments shorter than 12 hours. This may create separate replays rather than one continuous VOD.
- Test the chosen schedule before relying on it for an archive, and keep the local recording process independent of the outgoing live feed when possible.

Make the channel work for Tamil-speaking viewers
- Write the title and description in natural Tamil if Tamil is the primary audience language. Add another language only when it helps viewers understand the programming.
- Preview every Tamil overlay and subtitle on the actual stream output. Confirm that glyphs render correctly, text is large enough to read on a phone, and contrast remains clear over the video.
- Check pronunciation, spelling, and translations in titles, descriptions, and any on-screen schedule. Avoid promising content or a broadcast cadence the playlist cannot deliver.
- Make sure spoken and musical material is cleared for live streaming. Tamil-language presentation does not alter YouTube’s rights or monetization policies.
Clear rights and assess monetization separately
YouTube’s live-stream terms require the content provider to have the necessary rights for live content, including relevant music rights. Permission to use a song or video does not by itself establish eligibility for YouTube Partner Program monetization.
YouTube’s channel monetization policies apply to live streams as well as other video formats. They separately address reused content and repetitive or mass-produced programming. If a channel relies on repeated material, make the original contribution and meaningful variation clear; owning or licensing source files is not a promise of monetization approval.

Keep a 24/7 feed running and recover from faults
A local encoder depends on the computer, power, network, software, and source files remaining available. Continuous operation therefore needs active monitoring and a recovery procedure, whether you run the encoder yourself or use a hosted option.

- Check stream health and listen to the audio at intervals; a picture that appears normal can still have silent or distorted sound.
- Keep a documented restart procedure and access to the stream key for an authorized operator. Limit who can use the key.
- Keep source files and any required local recordings available if the encoder or host fails.
- If an interruption matters, consider a backup encoder or local recording path. Do not assume a single feed or connection cannot fail.
